Surely we will get at least one big album bomb before 2022 to push BL out. (emphasis on big, I know BL has already dodged two or three moderate album bombs) Christmas songs will push it out (again) in December if it's still around then, but good grief if it takes waiting until the holidays. Blinding Lights will come back for one week after the holidays to make up for the week it was (undeservingly) removed from the Hot 100, when it would have otherwise been the 6th or 7th biggest non-holiday song. Plus, BL would tie the Sail record of charting in 4 consecutive years. I doubt it. The Weeknd is moving onto ‘The Dawn’ (or whatever the final name of the next project is called), and there would no doubt be hits from that album so there would be little reason as to why BL would come back. I know its hard to let go, but you have got to accept that all good things must come to an end! |

I believe the feat jeiboy mentioned should be specified as "longest charting album tracks by women". iirc, "pov" (Ariana Grande) had taken that title from "the 1" (Taylor Swift) by spending 6 weeks on the Hot 100 upon the album release, prior to its run as a radio single. Olivia's songs technically already have the record if we cross out "pov" since it is no longer an album cut. this week will eliminate that asterisk. |
