NEW RELEASES: THE QUEEN RETURNS Beyoncé’s Renaissance (Parkwood/Columbia) will easily debut at #1 with a projected total of 275-315k based on first-day sales and streams. The album, Queen Bey's first solo set since 2016, is expected to collect over 170m plays in the U.S., outperforming early expectations. Those streams are spread across the entire album as fans consume Renaissance in its entirety.
We bend the knee.

Great numbers.
Would be nice if she could overtake 4's debut.

With all the hype and media praise you would think Beyonce would pull in 400k-500k. But I guess that’s good. Kind of a bizarre way to rollout an album with no promo or music videos and just relying heavily on her media favoritism.

Is it media favoritism or is she really just the best and most interesting A-List artist we have?

That’s bigger than any female except for Taylor and Adele in several years.

I expected AT LEAST 350k, since it has 16 tracks...but still solid numbers.

It’s crazy to me how anyone can say these are anything but great numbers and no, I’m not a Beyoncé stan (though I do like the album)
She is a 40 year old female artist from the 90s, none of her peers are even coming close to these numbers. This is extremely impressive especially without any promo or even videos.

Great numbers for a 7th album! It's clearly going to have legs. Is it media favoritism or is she really just the best and most interesting A-List artist we have? In 2022 she’s A List? Why would anyone even question this?

Not exactly sure why people are saying there's been "no promo" lol. There's been a ton of promo for this album over the last couple months, all over social media and everything, and the lead single BMS was promo in itself, but not saying any of this is bad, and she seems to be putting up solid numbers. She's been alive and kickin it ever since a teenager from the '90s, the album isn't my favorite of hers but I still enjoyed many of the tracks, and I'm generally very happy for her!

Beyoncé an innovator for real. she's making girls say she did "a ton of promo" by editing her instagram bio to announce her album 😂

Bey's numbers are good. She has never been a huge opener. Even self titled and Lemonade, her peaks opening wise, were eclipsed by other albums like VIEWS.
I expected 300k and the OK streaming debut certainly points to that instead of 350k.

The numbers are great for the state of music, but I don't think we need to fool ourselves and call this an amazing opening for Beyonce. I'm sure she and her team expected something higher. Quite frankly, I don't think something closer to the 400k would have been unrealistic to *conceive and think as a ceiling* considering the immense cult following she has.
But again, this is still great opening numbers for the state of music sales today ... so she and the label should be happy either way.

Beyoncé an innovator for real. she's making girls say she did "a ton of promo" by editing her instagram bio to announce her album 😂 But there were multiple edits and announcements (and not just instagram, but multiple platforms), and social media is of course very big and the main way artists communicate with with their fans nowadays, so this is definitely not "no promo," which a couple of you were saying, and making it seem like this was a complete surprise release without any prior announcement or lead single. (Plus she also might have done promo through other channels like TV or radio, I haven't been following that too closely, but what she did was definitely significant).

Most people here predicted 300K-350K, I highly doubt her team knows that much less than us. This number is very much expected, and nothing to sneer at.
She also hasn't put out any sort of video yet, given how much her work is about the visuals, I'm sure they've got plenty of stuff planned for the next couple of months.

Good numbers. Nothing monumental but definitely solid. Her latest "no visuals allowed" gimmick seems to have worked.

It’s certainly interesting how she went from “no lead single album bomb with videos for every song dropped at the same time” to “1st single preview then an an album release with no visuals(yet).” She’s once again re-inventing album roll out campaigns. If she comes with the visuals I can see this era lasting a lot longer than the “Lemonade” era, which lets admit only was in the public consciousness for a few months due to lack of hit singles.

This is gonna be a good week.
The grasping at straws, the sweat, the tears.
Love it!
Only Beyonce. It’s good to be Queen B stan, I shed a tear to all the Britney, Christina, Katy, GAGA, Ashanti, Alicia, JLo, Carrie, Stan’s.

Bey is more an act of the 2000s (as Destiny's Child didn't release its debut until the late '90s, and she went full-on solo in 2003).
The number is strong. She's big-enough a name that she doesn't need "traditional" promo. And what does that even mean nowadays, anyhow. She didn't need a pre-release music video; she has a top 10 airplay hit that's also fared decently in streaming.
It's been a week year for female releases, so thank goodness Bey released something to bolster the ladies.

How am I reaching? I am just contesting a couple people saying she has done "no promo" by pointing out that she has in fact done a significant amount of social media promo, but that that doesn't matter anyway and that I agree her projected numbers seem solid and that I am satisfied with them. Nothing special about what I'm saying.

But she already proved she can surprise release or traditional and still stays strong.
