Artist: Ingrid Andress Single: "Feel Like This" Writers: Julia Michaels, Ingrid Andress, Sam Ellis Album: Good Person Label: Atlantic/Warner Music Nashville Impact Date: February 6th, 2023
The 2nd country format single (3rd single overall) from Ingrid Andress' sophomore album Good Person will be "Feel Like This". This was absolutely the correct choice and I can see it being a hit for Ingrid next year. It's been streaming well on Amazon and Spotify and the official music video is nearing 1 million views.

I need to revisit the album but from what I remember this was my favorite song from it.

Hmm, I like this a lot, but I think there's a good 3 or 4 better options on the record as far as hit singles go. That said, this also isn't the worst pick they could've made. There's just quite a few songs on here that are either more instant ("Seeing Someone Else," "How Honest") or stand out in a could-win-Song-of-the-Year kinda way ("Yearbook").
If I were them I would've gone with "How Honest" next because it feels like the most radio-accessible song on the record, and then followed up with the big risk, big reward of "Yearbook" to close out the era because even if it didn't smash, I could see it giving her a lot of attention in the critical circles. That said, I am rooting for "Feel Like This" to smash and prove me wrong. I'd love nothing more than for her to have another big solo hit, because she deserves it and Good Person is a fantastic album that needs all the attention it can get.

I like this one! The songwriting on it is great. Doesn’t feel extremely radio friendly, but I’ll be rooting for it to become a hit.

There’s just something so warm about this song that I love. The songwriting and arrangement do such a phenomenal job to really express what falling in love feels like. I don’t think this one is quite as “instant” as “Seeing Someone Else” or “How Honest Do You Want Me To Be?” But I think is just as good of a single pick as those, if not more, because I think so many people can relate to this “holy shit am I in love?!” feeling when you’re in a newer relationship.
I really, really hope this hits. I could see it either performing really well or flopping so I’m praying for the former. Ingrid is a unique talent that we need in country music and I need her to stick around and continue to make more phenomenal music.
I’m okay with “Yearbook” being single 3, I’m just glad it wasn’t single 2. I think she needs a safer bet for another hit before trying that one. I dont think there’s any chance at “Yearbook” being a radio hit, but an acclaimed hit that goes top 30 would be a win for her with that song.

I don’t know how I feel about this choice. While I like the song, it took me some time to genuinely appreciate it. It’s not instant enough but I don’t think it’s something that’ll make listeners dial to a different station. It’s mid at best.
I would’ve gone with Seeing Someone Else and How Honest instead. Kinda surprised they decided against the former considering its being worked at Hot AC.
Fingers crossed it does well enough for Warner to give Ingrid a third single, which we all agree HAS to be Yearbook!

I know SSE was considered for country radio but they went with “Feel Like This” because its been connecting better (its been doing really well on Amazon specifically since its release). As much as I love SSE, I always thought it would test bad because of its production. I’m glad they saved “Yearbook” though because if “Feel Like This” can peak by early fall, they can send “Yearbook” during the colder months. If they go for a 4th single, it has to be “How Honest Do You Want Me To Be?”. Another solid choice would be “Falling For You”.

This song is good but not as a single. I think this will struggle at radio.

I doubt there’ll be a fourth single with how slowly Country radio moves, especially with women lol. But I do want to point out that sometimes what connects on streaming does not translate to radio success. We’ve seen plentiful of songs that fail to latch onto radio even though the fans are streaming it the most out of other tracks. This is a concern I have for Feel Like This, since it’s not exactly the most radio-friendly song off the album, but I’ll remain optimistic and hope for the best…because Ingrid is the kind of artist the Country music industry absolutely NEEDS to have/keep around.

I like this song, but it feels like it's going to do about as well as "Lady Like", which also was connecting well on streaming platforms but didn't (to me) feel like a radio song.
If this doesn't catch on, I hope they pull it for "Seeing Someone Else" as it's doing well on Hot AC.

Looks like it’s been sent to Country Radio. Under Cool New Music on AllAccess!
Update: It has been removed from AllAccess. Not sure why, but hopefully it’ll be re-added soon!🤞🏼

Sorry for another post, but I’m curious when or if this will be impacting radio soon. They removed it from AllAccess already and there hasn’t been an impact date announced yet. I’m pretty sure Warner said this was headed to radio in early January…

Possible they decided to switch singles? That’s what I was thinking, but Billy Dukes and Chris Owen both confirmed a February 6th impact date!🙌🏼

I’m pretty sure Warner said this was headed to radio in early January… Today was the first day of the year that mainstream radio singles would ship. Yesterday was a holiday, since New Year's Day fell on a Sunday, and label reps and radio programmers had off for the holidays. Today was always the ship-to-radio date for both "Feel Like This" and "23" by Chayce Beckham.

Ingrid will be performing on The Late Late Show with Stephen Colbert next week! Given she performed “Wishful Drinking” on the show last year, I bet she’ll be performing “Feel Like This” this time around. What a great way to launch the single. I’m very impressed with how her team has been handling this album cycle so far. 🙌🏼

I could also see her doing, "Seeing Someone Else." Isn't that her current non country song that is out?

I would be surprised if she performed it over “Feel Like This” given the circumstances, but either would be fine.

Either way, we know she won't be doing a performance of "Wishful Drinking" (yet again) so that alone has me happy! She was just on Kelly Clarkson's talk show within the last week and did "Wishful Drinking" which was a bummer, so seeing her have another promo spot lined up so soon has me ecstatic so that she can promote something else.

There’s something about this song that reminds me of the magic of her debut single for me. Don’t even wanna predict the outcome of this cause ‘radio’ but I do see a high reward for this single IF this does connect on Country radio for her career, GP and future. Especially if they also decide to push it to Hot AC afterwards.
I always felt like Ingrid is kind of underrated and I’ve always felt this “Maren Morris” level/kind of cross over potential she hasn’t quite fully tapped into yet, in the way that ‘The Bones’ connected. Something about the quality output she putting out, the cross format push and a clear lane for her brand, I see things connecting for her a bit more the next year or so.

Strong performance. I loved her dress. Glad she finally got to showcase something other than "Wishful Drinking" on a promo spot.

Did she look caught off guard by the band right before the second chorus? I liked the dramatic effect it caused but it did seem like she didn't see it coming.

3rd most added song on impact day with 22 adds and 25 total stations. A little underwhelming coming off a #1, but I’m still hopeful this can at least match the minor success “Lady Like” saw.
Also, I checked the recurrents page on AllAccess & “Wishful Drinking” is still getting Top 25 airplay, so I wouldn’t be shocked if “Feel Like This” doesn’t start to gain traction for awhile.

25 total stations after coming off a #1 is very underwhelming imo. It'd be one thing if this was after "Lady Like" or "The Stranger" but I expected a bit more out of this out of the gate. I know Ingrid has never had the greatest starts with country radio singles, but I figured this time it'd be different.

Yeah, I'm not surprised by 25 total adds because this song didn't scream smash from the get-go. As christianlarson9 said, "Wishful Drinking" was a really monumental hit and will be getting heavy recurrent play for awhile, so she'll probably have a slow start with whatever followed it regardless, but "Feel Like This" also doesn't feel like one of the more instant tracks on the record to help combat that. It's totally possible for this to wind up being a success in the end, but if it is, it likely won't be until next winter, lol.

This really makes me wish they went with one of the more immediate tracks. "Seeing Someone Else" should've been #2 for Country as well. It's such a strong hook!

“How Honest Do You Want Me To Be?” Is catchy as hell and sounds like a smash and “Yearbook” is the amazing song/big risk single so I could accept either of those choices but this one is just a little more than background noise unless you live with it for a while so I’m not shocked radio isn’t jumping on it day 1.
