Yeah, I don’t understand some of the omissions from the performance list. Obviously Taylor alone would be massive, and supposedly she’s not performing because she’s leaving for Tokyo immediately after the show. But aside from her, Noah Kahan is selling out arenas across the country — not booking him is an obvious miss. And no boygenius, Ice Spice, Victoria, or Zach? Not to mention the stir that a debut “HISS” performance from Megan would cause, lol.
I’m sure Billie, Dua, Miley, and Olivia will be entertaining, and I’m looking forward to Luke/Tracy. Even so, this lineup feels unnecessarily lacking given how solid this year’s nominees are.

Very excited to see Tracy perform. Wasn't expecting her to do so.

Victoria not performing is insane. This is her time to shine. IDGI.

The performance list is very underwhelming.
The fact there's no Taylor, Ariana, Morgan, Zach Bryan, Victoria Monet is crazy to me.

Just a reminder to anyone who, like me, is interested in seeing the majority of the awards given out, the pre-ceremony starts at 12:30pt/3:30et. Viewable on Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKiQsNyA6x0 and/or The Grammy's Official Website: live.grammy.com/

The only way I will care about this show is if SZA wins Album of the Year (well and now if Mariah shows up). It is WILD that it has been 25 years since a Black woman won Album of the Year. If Swift wins 4 times in a span where not one Black woman can win, it will be a serious travesty.
By the way, the media really is terrible now. So far I've seen two sources (The Independent and Pitchfork) saying Billie Eilish has won Song of the Year twice.

I understand what you are saying, but I also don't believe in giving awards to people just to make a "balance" - just because Taylor is white does not mean she shouldn't win multiple times if she was the best in that respective year.

Nothing I wrote was about a "balance." Plenty of Black women have released albums worthy of AOTY over the past 25 years - Beyonce, Alicia, Mariah, Missy, Mary J, etc - yet not one has won. My comment wasn't a diss of Taylor, it was about the fact that one white woman can win 3 times in a span where not a single Black woman could win. That to me is wild. This past year SZA released an album that was critically hailed and produced a slew of hit singles. It's certainly AOTY worthy.

I made a bunch of predictions yesterday. Here’s one of thr posts. I was leaning away from Midnights winning AOTY but I couldn’t pick which one I saw as being a likely actual contender so I went with it. Unless they just did Batiste again. http://instagram.com/p/C26O5EcM4X4

Of course they are worthy, they are all nominated for AOTY but I'm saying we should not just give awards to black women to make a balance show. Taylor is deserving this year and if she wins over SZA, oh well.

Not sure what the motive has been over the last few years, of them announcing so few performers in advance. Are fans truly expected to believe there will only be 12 performances, one of which is U2 playing live from Vegas? Just doesn’t really track. It doesn’t incentivize fans to want to tune in and watch. It’s nonsensical. And if that really IS the whole performers list, then… that’s embarrassing. She isn't my most favorite personally but Grammy darling Janelle Monae is not even performing? Janelle Monae has exactly zero Grammys.

Whether it’s tonight or the future, Taylor will win AOTY 4 times. Will it be deserved? IMO at this time, no. Don’t think she deserves it this year. I understand why she won for Fearless and Folklore. Don’t agree with the 1989 win.

Don’t agree with the 1989 win. Agreed. I never found Midnights to be the showstopping record that social media made it out to be. It’s not her strongest body of work by any measure, in my opinion. Hoping SZA takes AOTY.

Honestly, when it comes to Midnights, it’s a very middle-of-the-road album for Taylor. Not her worst but not her best either. I’m fine if it wins best pop album, but AOTY really should be going to SZA this year.

^Agreed.
Anti-Hero, the song, is excellent - one of Taylor’s best singles of all time, and deserving of wins.
Midnights, however, isn't one of Taylor’s best albums. I think over time, Midnights will be seen as being in the lower half of her discography.
But, Taylor has had a successful year like no other, and I guess Midnights is associated with that success, even if many of the songs on the album itself aren’t as memorable as a lot of her prior work.

I'm looking forward to this Grammys more than I have previous years, despite the general low buzz. It's shaping up to be a great line of performers & presenters, with really well rounded nominations.
I hope "Flowers" wins ROTY, "What Was I Made For?" wins SOTY & SOS wins AOTY. Plus hoping "Padam Padam" wins Best Pop Dance Recording.

I really hope Miley can win her first Grammy tonight. She deserves it, especially after Plastic Hearts was completely snubbed a few years ago.

I would love for Miley to get her first win. I want Kelly to win also. I think MIDNIGHTS is some of Taylor's best and I am obsessed with it. Anti Hero is one of her best songs period.
