After Jewells video for “intuition” her career went down the tubes with claims she was trying to fit in with the pop girls, when in reality it was just a parody.
Are there any other career ruining music videos?

It's already been mentioned and I reckon it's the one that takes the cake, Billy Squier's infamous "Rock Me Tonite."

"Addams Groove" started it. But him grinding like a stripper in speedos and boots was the final nail.

They didn’t, but those Chris Gaines videos from the late 90s by Garth Brooks would have ruined the careers of a lesser established country act, that’s for sure.

But I am definitely keeping my eyes peeled for micro aggressions towards Jewel—I don’t think it’s coming from a good place

I think the music video for "Birthday" is when we started to see cracks in the foundation of Katy's career. I feel like it's somewhat forgotten now since the song isn't one of her bigger hits, but it was arguably her first miss and then several bigger misses followed.

It was not funny or anything.

I mean, did it really ruin her career? It was not like her previous album was a huge hit. Spirit was huge decline from Pieces of You, and This Way was a big decline from Spirit. Standing Still was a moderate hit and the other singles flopped miserably. Intuition came along and became a bigger hit than SS, even though 0304 sold less than This Way, but following the decline in her sales, it was not a huge flop or something. The fallout between her and her mother (her manager at the time), put everything on hold and she cancelled a big 0304 tour that was coming up and subsequent singles. She found out she was in huge debt and her mother was stealing from her. Even after that she kept coming back, always trying new things. I don't think she blew her chances of having a huge career in pop radio, she was part of a movement that, let's be honest, got lucky with radio at that time.

I don't think she blew her chances of having a huge career in pop radio, she was part of a movement that, let's be honest, got lucky with radio at that time. To add to that, what she released after that particular era was not as mainstream oriented. She still did okay with touring. And she did release some Country and children’s music. She has found success doing some reality shows, and other endeavors too. I do not think that particular music video ruined, or destroyed her career. One could make a case that perhaps the public was not as interested in her regardless of what kind of music she was recording and releasing at that point. The music she released around that time was actually pretty good though.

Christina Aguilera - Not myself tonight I would argue Dirrty was the video that ruined her career. While she has had continued success here and there, I think that video left a lot of people like nope.

MC Hammer also have that one video where he was wearing a very skimpy underwear. And while that may have been great for the ladies and sexually confused men, it ended up alienating his main audience. Although his career was kind of on the downtrend at that time, but everyone has a flop here and there, but this just made it worse.

At most, it might have put her in a restrictive box in terms of what she could do next that people would take her seriously for, but one could argue her teen pop days already did that and “Dirrty” just broke that open and moved her to another box. But she did enough after that that did well that “Dirrty” became a career footnote in bold at most

Not career ending, but it seemed like Mariah & Miguel's "#Beautiful" stalled at radio after the video came out, though idk if that was just timing, but I feel like I remember people trashing the video on here back in '13.

Jewel wasn't really "cancelled" per say. But I could really agree on was Billy Squier's messy music video of Rock Me Tonite. Ironically, his highest charting hit, peaking at #15. After that, Billy never hit the top 40 again, probably regarding Rock Me Tonite's music video tanting his career.

That was a bop, though lol I like it miles more than Some Girls. So interesting that the best vocalist of N Sync wasn’t the most successful solo artist. Similar to Robbie Williams va Gary Barlow.

Ruined is pretty much a hyperbole for almost all instances, but "Stupid Hoe" was the icing on the cake at Nicki's 2012 era tainting her public image as a rapper.
"Do What U Want" would've also done some irreversible damage to Gaga had Interscope not came to their senses and canned it.

But she did enough after that that did well that “Dirrty” became a career footnote in bold at most Her PR team had to work overtime by releasing Beautiful to try to fix her image, which smashed, but even after that she could only get 2 more top 10 hits as a lead for the rest of her career. One of those being Keeps Getting Better, which only spent a single week. I remember loving this parody from back in the day about how obvious of a PR move it was: Or, her PR team worked the normal amount to release the next already-planned single with the normal roll-out plan of video, etc. I’m sure to some degree the response to “Dirrty” was expected - and if it wasn’t, her PR team should have fired when they weren’t prepared.

I never noticed or thought about Beautiful being an attempt to "repair" Dirrty, but it's obvious now you've pointed it out.
Miley Cyrus did a similar thing although over a longer time scale. I remember in 2013 some older people at the time insisting that it's a publicity stunt and that she'll come back later and be all feminine and graceful and chaste, and then she released a song called Malibu iirc, and the video to it was exactly that. She's acting like an innocent young girl running around on the beach, smelling flowers, hugging a dog, holding a bunch of balloons. I guess when you're older and you've seen it all happen before the publicity stunts don't work on you anymore.

Yeah, the Miley thing was more obviously about repairing her image after Bangerz and Dead Pets and her tongue. Similarly, Gaga probably had a similar situation with ARTPOP with a softer approach to Joanne, which one could argue didn’t help much. But her Sound of Music performance on the Oscars, Halftime Show and then A Star is Born was the 1-2-3 punch to fix all that damage.
In the 90s, Madonna famously followed the Erotica/SEX book era with the softer images from Bedtime Stories and then her compilation of ballads and Evita. Though in those cases it wasn’t cleaning up the mess of a single video.

No doubt - Looking hot. The video clip was so controversial that it was removed from YouTube iirc.
