Some of you are so dramatic lol It’s. One. Album. Era. After we just got random Christmas and Gospel albums and a successful Vegas residency. Let the girl breathe and have some work/life balance.

Yes one era / album but it flops so hard , which is disappointing because the album is excellent. I agree she needs a new producer. David Garcia cannot seem to find a balance between Carrie’s vocal and the music (or is it the sound mixing engineer’s job?).. It feels like she went into Katy Perry phase, from top of the game to struggling to even chart in top 20. I love Carrie and i really hope she will find her success again. But i do reallywish she tried a more simple sound and look, probably acoustic album?

Two album eras actually. Cry Pretty started this trend. Important to note. And those two album eras have been going on for 5+ years so I think our concerns are valid.

I want commercial success for her. I really do. But, more than that, I just want her to continue to make music and be able to see her perform live. Just make great music, Carrie. Take chances. You've earned that right. I selfishly have thoughts on the type of music I'd love to hear from her, but she's going to do what she wants to do. Will be interesting to see what that is. I do think she's not done with Christian music yet, so I'm pretty sure she'll do something in that genre again at some point. Whether it is original music or another album of hymns, I am unsure. In my opinion, "My Savior" was one of her most cohesive, well produced projects she's done. I could feel her passion for the material for sure.

Up 3 spots to 23 this week with 0.889 million audience impression increase (10th highest on the chart this week) and gained over 200 new spins. Hoping radio gives this the “Outskirts” treatment and it starts to really take off out of nowhere after months and months of mediocre gains.

Not expecting this to randomly blossom into the smash it *should've* been, but I certainly think a peak somewhere in the teens is still definitely in the cards. Nice to see this get a great update this week and moving closer to continuing her top 20 streak. With Gabby collapsing, that might be beneficial to this one as well since ya know... not too many tomatoes on the airwaves and whatnot.

Came in at #22 this week. Should be able to hit the top 20 next week, considering that there are several songs in the top 15 that are close to going recurrent. If this can just make top 20 and keep Carrie’s top 20 streak going, then i’ll be happy.

Yeah top 20 on both charts are what I’m hoping for, and if they keep this alive another week it has a good chance of making it next week on BB.
I do think that if they keep this alive another month or two they could milk it a little closer to the top 10, which I would love, just not sure if they’ll do it, because after Luke Bryan releases his song next month, her imprint will be working 5 songs to radio at once, which is a lot.

Yeah and of the songs on said imprint either this or "Cowboys & Plowboys" looks to be the one let go of and I feel like this would be more inclined to since it's the third single from an album and is over 40 weeks on the chart.

Would’ve been a sure fire #1 if released in her prime. Think it could easily get top 15 if they keep on with it another month.
Still a top 20 at this point in her career, given the lack of momentum due to HMH, is a success. Especially considering how radio treated Miranda’s and Maren’s latest, which had more momentum going in than this one did.

She’s at least still charting nearly 20 years into her career. I would like to see her return to a more pop country sound like Some Hearts, Storyteller, etc.
I’ll at least be satisfied if this keeps her top 20 streak going.

Good for her and this song. I don’t think her career is too concerning for commercial success.
If I Didn’t Love you was a huge success and went #1. She soon an album Grammy for My Savior. Her Vegas residency is successful and opens her up to new audiences. The Denim & Rhinestones tour was one of her best tours, if not the best.
And was this a legit single? It seemed like they just released it to see how it would resonate with the fans. It’s a hit on streaming and that probably matters more than radio. It would be great if this went Top 10 on radio though.

Grammy awards, residency and tour are not really commercial success. What does "legit single" even mean here? It has a radio adds date and is promoted there, has streaming playlisting, etc.

It was a duet and more than just a feature. It is commercial success. Look at acts like J.Lo. She’s having to cancel dates on her upcoming tour. She wouldn’t be asked back to Vegas if her show wasn’t a success. It didn’t seem like a legit single when it first dropped. It wasn’t connected to a re-release and they kind of just put it out there, and then I think eventually released a lyric video but no music video.

So I do wanna say in regards to male/female country duets or duets in general is that you can only put so much association with the artists who isn't the main artist on the song. That being said, while "If I Didn't Love You" was a big success, that song was over 2 and a half years ago, and all the momentum that song could have given Carrie Underwood is down the drain radio wise, due to "Ghost Story" and especially "Hate My Heart" which reflects in this song taking over 40 weeks to hit the Top 20 on country radio.
While her Vegas residency is a success to some extent, it's also indicative of Carrie Underwood moving onto legacy phase of her career.
Finally this song was a legit single despite no music video, it was serviced to radio, given an add date, and promoted for over 10 months now. Just because this has no music video doesn't mean it's not a legit single, by that same logic "Mamaw's House" by Thomas Rhett wasn't a legit single since it didn't have a music video.

I just thought that maybe we all should not be so hard on Carrie.
Stop measuring her by her old chart standards.
Anyway she is a radio darling artist.
If it were any other female artists this could easily not make top 40.

Top 20 (and rising) is pretty good for an older single with no music video, and no widespread promo. She performed the deluxe songs when the project came out on national TV once, from what I can remember; this song is literally holding its own. Makes me wonder what could’ve been if OOTT opened the era? Ghost Story peaked only a few notches higher than this one - with an entire album launch / lead single launch behind it…

Uhhh idk, but I remember it peaking around like #12ish… somewhere? My point is that this song is doing a lot on its own if a lead single from the same artist didn’t make it all that much higher on the charts. If I’m way off, my bad, I don’t pay too much attention to these charts anymore.

We'll see how much further this one gets, but "Ghost Story" made it to #6 on airplay, and this one is only just now about to break into the top 20, so I wouldn't say that their success is comparable at this moment, sadly. :/ Fully expected this to be a #1 smash when it first came out and was moving the needle, but she released it to radio too late and it just feels like there's been not a ton of promo for it outside of it being worked to radio. A really good music video for this would've been beneficial, for instance.

#20 this week! Her top 20 streak is still going as this is her 34th top 20 hit. I’ll be curious to see how far up the chart this can go! I consider this a victory considering there was no active promo or a music video for this.

Chug chug chugging along...no reason to pull it until she's ready to release something new. I wish "Drunk and Hungover" had a chance, but I recognize that OOTT is it for this era. Both "D&H" and "Burn" are the ones I keep going back to right now.

Still disappointed we never got a music video out of this one. The title itself is pretty visual so I know a music video incorporating that in would have been cool.

Both "D&H" and "Burn" are the ones I keep going back to right now. "Out of That Truck" and "Drunk and Hungover" are easily the best two songs on the entire album for me. Sounds like old school Carrie Underwood from Carnival Ride/Play On. Why they were not on the standard version I really don't know. Hope we have more in the vein of that next era, over the first two singles this era.

"Drunk and Hungover" and "Burn" are top 5 on this record for me as well. Both of those sound like total smashes to me, but OOTT did as well and it's still labored up the chart despite the initial hype. I hope there's a chance it scrapes top 10 eventually before they give up on it, and I fully expect her next single to be something brand new from her next era, whenever that may be. There's just no momentum left for another D&R single atp, sadly, despite the record being stacked with potential imo.

I really don’t understand why no video was made. Yes, youtube doesn’t seem to carry the relavence it once did, but to not have anything new for CMT to play and have a chance at adding to her CMT awards crown seems baffling to me. It really comes across like she DGAF about any of it anymore, which as a fan is truly sad.

I agree there is no reason why they didn’t make a video for this. A cheap thrown together video is better than nothing.

Can someone explain how MB Country works: Below is yesterday's chart. ICFI has a bigger AI, but less spins than OOTT, so I assumed it's ahead based on AI. BUT LYBBC has more spins *and* bigger AI, but is behind OOTT. How is that even logical?
14 17 KANE BROWN I Can Feel It 2973 4205 -1232 16.552 19 18 CARRIE UNDERWOOD Out Of That Truck 3051 2945 106 11.534 21 19 JASON ALDEAN Let Your Boys Be Country 3124 2808 316 12.230
It's nice to see OOTT continue to stay afloat. It sure would be nice if that pushed it until Top 10.

MB uses a point system. How it is used nobody knows.
