The label sent this to radio earlier this week and listed the impact date as 3/21, so it seems like they're pushing this and "One Thing At A Time".

Wish they would've just pushed this from the beginning with Pop and let One Thing at a Time continue once this one died down. With 36 songs, though, it's not like he doesn't have other singles to choose from anyway.

With 36 songs, though, it's not like he doesn't have other singles to choose from anyway. Country radio jumped on "One Thing at a Time" first, so it wouldn't have made any sense to push "Last Night" ahead of it, and since both are flying up the chart simultaneously, it doesn't seem to have mattered. They'll be back-to-back huge smashes.

‘98 Braves re-enters the airplay chart this week @ #60 with +.188 audience impressions, which isn’t a lot, but it’s also fairly healthy (also a +33 spin gain). Could we have another single climbing radio soon?
Even if ‘98 Braves falls off again soon, I do hope it’s the next single - immediately one of my favorites from the album.

I will say this song is a lot more immediate for me than "One Thing At A Time".

Wish more popular artists would push two singles at once. I’d rather get 5 singles in a year that sound fresh than 3 milked out over 2 years.
I’d be shocked if “Man Made A Bar” isn’t a single. It’s held up extremely well on streaming and Eric Church on it only makes it more eventful. I’m all for “‘98 Braves” though, which is one of the most original breakup songs I’ve heard recently.

I’m just kinda annoyed with all these MW songs charting on airplay, and taking away potential spins from the females. All these unofficial songs charting and radio keeping Carrie outside of the top 20, Miranda peaking in the mid 40s, Kelsea slowly creeping up the chart, and Maren not even breaking the top 50. Very frustrating for me to see.

Where I draw the line is seeing random album tracks charting at the bottom of the chart or stations playing only Morgan Wallen songs the day the album came out. Like I get Morgan Wallen is huge but that is just over saturation at that point.

Wish more popular artists would push two singles at once. I’d rather get 5 singles in a year that sound fresh than 3 milked out over 2 years. I don't think this would even be a plausible option for anyone in country music right now except for Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs. With the way country radio works, it's just not even something anyone else can get away with. 95% of country artists have chart climbs of half a year or longer, and that wouldn't speed up if they suddenly started throwing more singles at radio. If anything, that would only make the charts even slower because now stations are splitting a bunch of spins between multiple songs by the same artist, and it would likely just lead to cannibalization of one or both of the singles. It's why a lot of discussion surrounding Carrie Underwood's new "Out of That Truck" being released to radio is centered around the need to pull "Hate My Heart" early in order to capitalize on it, because country radio will 100% not jump on that song and play it with any real intentions while also keeping HMH afloat. I'm less annoyed by Morgan Wallen taking spins from females because he's at least a huge superstar at the format and it just makes sense for him to be charting all these songs at once. He really isn't the problem imo, compared to all the non-event stuff like "You Didn't" or "Son of A" or "Water Under the Bridge" or "Heaven by Then" always taking away spins from songs by women that are clearly connecting.

When was the last time an artist had 3 songs in Mediabase Top 30? I believe that might have been Tim McGraw in 2016 when he was charting a solo single and two duets with Big & Rich and Florida Georgia Line. Morgan Wallen could have five #1s this year, a feat that has not been done since 1974 when Charlie Rich had a quintet of chart toppers.

When was the last time an artist had 3 songs in Mediabase Top 30? If we're counting, it's 5 songs in the top 30. He co-wrote KU and Corey Kent's singles as well.

Morgan Wallen besides himself. Is this the first time Last Night is above One Thing At A Time?:

Funny how this is the fourth country single from the album and will go #1 before the third country single (One Thing at A Time) does.

Also, curious. Do we (and by we I definitely mean any of you) have any chart records of the fastest songs to #1? While I love Morgan and am obsessed with Last Night, I hate that he's on his way to #1 within a few months, when some songs take a whole damn year on this format to reach the top top.

With the way they're climbing in tandem, I imagine that he'll replace himself at #1, too, which I'm almost positive will be the first time in country music history that's happened unless we count features.

Everyone knows how I feel about Bring On The Rain by Jo Dee Messina that topped the chart in 2002. Some people say it's a duet with Tim McGraw and others don't (I fall in the latter category). Anyway, McGraw topped the chart the following week with The Cowboy In Me. In 1982, Willie Nelson had a #1 with Always On My Mind. He succeeded himself with his duet with Waylon Jennings, Just To Satisfy You. Buck Owens replaced himself in 1964 with My Heart Skips A Beat and then Together Again.

"Bring On The Rain" isn't a duet but it's a feature with Tim McGraw and he's credited on it so it his partly his song just fyi.

I heard this in a fast food restaurant the other day, on a station that seemed to be playing all-time pop classics with a few current songs sprinkled in, and honestly it fit right in! For context, I also heard "Flowers" by Miley Cyrus, "I'm Good" by Bebe Rexha, "Apologize" by Timbaland and One Republic, "Anti-Hero" by Taylor Swift, "All My Love" by Led Zeppelin, and "Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac all around it.
I wouldn't have known on the surface that it was a song that was only released like a month ago, because it just blended right in with all those huge hits! I had never even heard it before, but I Shazamed it out of curiosity because I could have sworn it sounded like Morgan Wallen, but like they had also just played Fleetwood Mac so I didn't think it would actually be him? But lo and behold!
My point being, he's got a big old hit on his hands.

This reminds me of “Blurry” by Puddle of Mudd, especially vocally. Has pop influences for sure but I also get early 2000’s rock vibes, and I’m digging it.
