Super stoked to see K. Michelle landing a performance slot on the CMAs. That is HUGE. Love that for her, and I can't wait to see her tackle "Love Can Build a Bridge." She has amazing pipes and I'm hoping this is another sign that her country record is coming sooner rather than later.

How about putting her in the Hall of Fame while she is still alive?

How about putting her in the Hall of Fame while she is still alive? Is she worthy of a HOF induction? I went and looked at her singles and she really only had a couple of hits.

Yes she most definitely is worthy! Look beyond her hits, it’s not always about that. Otherwise there’s some names in that shouldn’t be and some that should that aren’t. www.countryuniverse.net/2008/05/11/100-greatest-women-55-jeannie-seely/

You’ll get no argument from me that some artist have no business being in there. Marty Stuart & Ray Stevens come to mind. For the most part thou the CMHOF has always been pretty consistent on who they let it and they really only let in true deserving artist that have a long list of hits / iconic songs. Sure Jeanie has a long history in the business and playing the Opry over 5000 times but I’m just not sure about being in the hall. We shall see thou

Wondering if Carrie will even be there? I totally thought she’d be listed with the second round.

Outside of Vegas and SNF, she’s got nothing going on. I don’t see why she’d be there in any capacity beyond being a nominee. Can’t imagine she cares a whole lot, either.

Carrie hasn’t posted her nominations the past couple of years. Feel like after the 2019 CMA fiasco, her view/respect for the organization changed, and rightfully so. Wouldn’t be surprised if she skipped this year; even if I really want OOTT promo.

Still no word on if Tracy Chapman will be there. Would love to see her there especially if”Fast Car” wins Song of the Year.

Regardless, it would be so cool if she wasn't there and then appeared on stage if "Fast Car" were to win. It would be her first public appearance since the pandemic I believe too!

Kind of frustrated that Parker McCollum is only a presenter when his star is rising in the genre it feels like.

ugh, seeing Paula Abdul as a presenter has me dreaming of her presenting Carrie EOTY, and making it all a full circle moment. I know it happening is mostly slim to none, but it’s a nice dream lol.

Taylor did not attend in 2017 either, the year she won song of the year for Better Man

My final thoughts and predictions:
Entertainer: Luke Combs (alt. Chris Stapleton)
I have a hard time imagining anyone beating Luke for votes in this category, but part of me feels like Lainey might take it. Based on how unprecedented that would be, I think the likely alternative to Luke is Chris. Of course Carrie is a contender too, but I just don’t see how she pulls more votes than Luke, or even Lainey this year. Morgan could honestly pull it off too, and statistically he is the EOTY so it’s hard to argue against him aside from his controversies. However, the awards industry hasn’t exactly embraced him proportional to his overall impact and I don’t see that changing either. With approximately 7k voters, it really can go any way and a strong case can be made for any of the nominees. My heart will always long to hear “Carrie Underwood” in that moment, but I fully expect Luke Combs to collect his 3rd EOTY trophy.
Male Vocalist: Jelly Roll (alt. any of them)
Always the most boring category, but I can see it going to any of them honestly. Jelly Roll has been on a roll (hehe) right into awards season so I can see that momentum translating to a win for him, but the category is tight.
Female Vocalist: Lainey Wilson (alt. Kelsea Ballerini)
I really don’t see Lainey losing this one. This year has been bigger for her than last, and she won it last year… if she had the clout then, she probably has more now. With that said, Kelsea had a huge year and she falls comfortably into the CMA snub club - which the CMA could make right in this moment. Doubt it, but I’d love to see it!
Duo: Brothers Osborne (alt. Dan + Shay)
Boring
Group: Old Dominion (alt. Zac Brown Band)
Boringer
New Artist: Jelly Roll (alt. Megan Moroney)
I’d be shocked if Jelly Roll didn’t win this.
Album: Bell Bottom Country (alt. Rolling Up The Welcome Mat)
I’d honestly like the reverse result (Kelsea winning) but I think Lainey takes this one.
Song: Heart Like A Truck (alt. Fast Car)
Honestly, so over the song but it was HUGE and if Lainey wins no other music-based award, I still believe she takes this one.
Single: Fast Car (alt. Next Thing You Know)
Don’t really have specific thoughts other than FC would be a truly special win for more than just the average amount of people.
Music Video: Wait in the Truck (alt. Need A Favor)
Musical Event: Wait in the Truck (alt. Save Me or Thank God)
“Event” and “Video” sometimes become consolation prizes; not that they aren’t important, but sometimes surprises happen so I could see Kane taking “Event”. However, the Lainey momentum is real; add HARDY to that - seems unbeatable given their combined nominations.

My last minute predictions
ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR – Morgan Wallen - It should be Carrie Underwood. It’s just sad we have to keep saying that. She’s way overdue for the award at this point. I keep hoping it will happen someday.
SINGLE OF THE YEAR – “Wait In The Truck” – Hardy and Lainey Wilson
ALBUM OF THE YEAR – One Thing At A Time – Morgan Wallen
SONG OF THE YEAR – “Fast Car” Songwriters: Tracy Chapman
FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR – Lainey Wilson
MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR – Luke Combs or Morgan Wallen. Probably whichever man doesn’t end up winning Entertainer will get this as a consolation prize.
VOCAL GROUP OF THE YEAR – Old Dominion
VOCAL DUO OF THE YEAR – Brothers Osborne. I could see Dan + Shay, or The War and Treaty take it though.
MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR –Jenee Fleenor
NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR – Jelly Roll
