What musical artists were only relevant under a single U.S. president?
For example, Vaughn Meader, a JFK impersonator stopped being relevant after the assassination.

Maybe I should be the first one to actually answer the question. Silento cause he was only relevant for like 5 minutes.

I feel like 6ix9ine during the Trump presidency would be a good choice, his first hit was in 2017 and his last was in 2020 before completely falling off and hasn't had any noteworthy song since. Apparently he released an album this year that didn't even chart? Had no idea.

Yeah... like the OP obviously isn't looking for answers like that 😭 Artists that had hits for a few years but were done shortly after makes more sense. Another would maybe be Fetty Wap? Hits in 2015-16 but by the end of Obama's presidency he was done.

What musical artists were only relevant under a single U.S. president? For example, Vaughn Meader, a JFK impersonator stopped being relevant after the assassination. Reportedly Lenny Bruce took the stage for a previously scheduled nightclub appearance on November 22, 1963, and after several moments of silence, started the show with "Boy, is Vaughn Meader f**ked." In a broader sense, most one-hit or one-album wonders could fit under this categorisation, as could many who had several hits, a couple of successful albums, or other important material that fell entirely under a (usually) four or eight year period, though in most cases who was in the White House had little or no direct impact on their success or lack thereof.

I don’t think there’s any artist that first came on the scene during a president’s first year, then disappeared by their eighth. I mean, we have Katy, but it really depends on what you mean by “relevant”

Christina Aguilar during the Bill Clinton reign. Funny, there actually is a singer named Christina Aguilar from Thailand who was popular there during the 1990s.

I think that Christina Aguilera was more popular during the Bush years. Easily her most successful chart year was 2003, without any arguments. She dominated the charts that year. Anyway, here are some that I can think of who had multiple hits, but not outside of one presidency.
George H. W. Bush (Jan '89 to Jan '93): Wilson Phillips Technotronic Extreme Winger Firehouse
Bill Clinton (Jan '93 to Jan '01): Hootie and the Blowfish Gin Blossoms Savage Garden Spice Girls Soul Asylum Oasis
George W. Bush (Jan '01 to Jan '09): Vanessa Carlton Michelle Branch Simple Plan Evanescence Ashlee Simpson Bowling for Soup Nelly Furtado
Barack Obama (Jan '09 to Jan '17): Iggy Azalea The Script Alessia Cara Twenty One Pilots Daya
I feel like anyone who had a hit in the Trump and Biden eras could still have more hits to come since they were technically both presidents in the current decade. And because Trump may get re-elected, so it wouldn't be a complete list either way.

A half dozen or so massive hits between '89 and '91, followed by immediate irrelevance, at least on this side of the pond.

They had lots of big hits, but only during that point in time.

The MAGA singers who get these quick viral hits will have no purpose after this next election
