I have always said that while I feel folklore is the more cohesive album, evermore has higher highs.
champagne problems, ‘tis the damn season, tolerate it, marjorie, happiness, ivy… some of the best, most personal and emotional writing and storytelling she has ever done. It’s a brilliant album.
People hate on ‘closure’ but it VERY VERY much hits wildly close to home for me. It’s a really special album and I’m loving all of the love I’m reading right now! #evermorecoven

I'd like "closure" more if it was placed elsewhere on the album. I know it's a dumb reason because I could just move it myself. I just always felt that it sounded so brash following "marjorie", which I think might be the most special song on the album to me. It's like going from something really heartfelt and emotional to smashing on garbage cans. Other than that, it's not a bad song.
evermore is definitely a A+ album though. Depending on the day, I'd place it above folklore. Other days, folklore is my pick between the two. My only other consistent qualm with evermore is (for some reason) "no body no crime". I like the song but it always felt out of place to me on the album.
I also fully admit that both of this 'issues' are just me being especially picky but when you have a pair of albums at the calibre of folklore/evermore, it really does come down to noticing the very absolute littlest things that jump out at you.

"cowboy like me" is the greatest song of all time, I did the math.
Also, is she just not going to do any promo for this album? Like, literally nothing.

I'm an Evermore girlie myself. It evokes such a wintry, melancholy coziness that's oddly super comforting.
willow champagne problems gold rush 'tis the damn season tolerate it ivy cowboy like me marjorie right where you left me
They are all amazing songs and really haven't burned on me much at all over the years.

Why is everyone so concerned about promo right now? Everyone knows about the album who wants to know about the album. It's not like a performance or something somewhere is going to spark different interest in the album. She is one of the few artists who does not need any sort of promo. Additionally, maybe she will do some promo after the dust settles if the album starts to be in "Danger"

For me, promo isn't only about getting the word out there about the album, but also it's a way for the artists to show their passion for the project. This album obviously means something important to Taylor and I would like to see her show that through performances (outside of the tour) or interviews or anything of the sort. It doesn't even have to be a big thing, but selfishly I do want a little more than what she's currently doing. She may be the biggest artist in the world, but it's still nice to see some down-to-earth things like a sit down interview or even a VEVO performance posted on YouTube.

That’s a point I’ve never thought of before and it’s true. It’s one of the things that has bugged me a bit in recent years as major artists would drop an album and then that would be it. No videos, interviews, live performances. Similarly, the way album eras roll out now by smaller or lesser known artists. They drop 3 or 4 pre-release singles, then the album, and then that’s it. No post-album singles or videos. The promo is done other than the tour. I get why but it’s become anti-climactic to have everyone feel over once album release week is done.

The problem with a sit down interview is exactly how big she is. She is toeing the line of overexposure big time, and it’s beginning to feel like pre-rep era all over again in terms of that and people waiting for her to slip up so that they can make her fall back down. She can’t do something like The Tonight Show or SNL without causing an all-out traffic jam on the streets of New York. She can’t do the GMA concert series without the inside of their studio being packed so tight that the teleprompters can’t be seen, and the outside crowd—again—causing a major traffic jam. Not to mention some people are very likely beginning to get sick of her, of seeing her, of hearing about her 24/7 for the past two years. She knows this, and is being very smart—because with her tenure in the industry and her age, she knows that once she’s brought back down from this high, she may or may not be able to climb back to this height again.

Although, I did miss seeing her on The Tonight Show this album cycle. Her and Jimmy have good chemistry and have led to some hilarious clips and soundbytes, like when she was recovering from lasik surgery.

I think it's safe to say most, if not all, announcements related to the album will be communicated through the Eras Tour. Any music videos, remixes, other editions of the album (like a physical variant of the Anthology) will all likely be announced on the tour.
I wouldn't shock me if she's hasn't already filmed a video for either ICDIWABH or Down Bad and premieres it on a Friday in Europe in the next month. Then films a video for single #3 in September and premieres it in Miami when the tour resumes in the US.

Yeah, I think the promo is the tour. The fact that she’s adding a TTPD section will be more far reaching than any talk show appearance could be. I agree that she likely has her videoS for this era already filmed. Maybe we’ll get confirmation of the likely singles by what makes it on the setlist. I’d be here for Fortnight, Down Bad, ICDIWABH, Guilty as Sin, and So Long London. (And/Or The Black Dog in my wildest dreams!)

So like, what is the likelihood of her releasing another concert film including the 'TTPD' songs sometime later this year?

I've had to reapply my clown makeup several times already, thinking she would have released the tour on Blu-ray / 4K UHD by now but maybe as a final hurrah when the tour is over, just in time for the holidays?

If Guilty as Sin is not a single then nothing is fair in this universe.
It is such a good switch up from her recent singles, but not too far off the beaten path to alienate.
I love Down Bad, but I think the clean version kinda pacifies it. Although, I thought the same about Karma, and that was still a number one.

Kinda feels like the era is losing a bit of steam, and the Drake/Kendrick battle has also taken some of the attention off of it.
I hope she either releases the “More Postie” remix or drops single #2 soon.

The streams are not losing steam (album is still having unheard of daily streams) even through fortnight isn't anti hero 2.0. fortnight is still doing great on streaming and is having blockbuster radio updates. no reason to abandon it. on thursday, her tour will resume with a ttpd section. that should bring back some hype.

I honestly think I enjoy being a fan more when she's in between albums. Enjoying the music in peace, without all this bombardment of variants and pointless super exclusive limited releases that practically offer nothing, just to boost a number. I have nothing against the people who want to buy these, but I find these tactics greedy and capitalistic. She's already the biggest seller regardless. She doesn't need this.

I like that cover but yeah, unnecessary. She did this with other albums but those were digital only.

I know this is lyrics from the song....but TN saying "You can't come to the wedding".... makes me having a crazy and wild thought on the question at first glance of is this an easter egg on implying Taylor is going to have a wedding of her own soon???

If this was a full double physical album of all 32 tracks I would order it. Another variant is ridiculous

This bootleg remix won't be for everyone, especially since it's stylistically a throwback to a different era of club remixes; but I'm loving this club mix of 'Fortnight'.
