One More Light is a garbage album. Sorry, but it being the last LP record and last full project with Chester doesn’t change that. The words were there but the instrumentals were straight up pop sludge, and worse, that sound LP used is dated in 2024.
I hope this will be listenable but my hopes aren’t high. I still can’t listen to half of OML because of how awkwardly terrible the mashup between LP’s lyrics and the Chainsmokers-influenced pop sound was.

Regardless of how it will sound, Alternative stations will probably quite like this and I can see it doing well

Video is fantastic, even if the song itself is mid.

The song has the potential to be decent/good, but I feel like it just lacks something although I don't exactly know what

If blink 182's "One More Time" is any indication of what Alt format listeners want, then this is headed to #1 for countless weeks. I have to admit I don't hate it. It doesn't sound anything like the usual Linkin Park, and that might actually be a plus for me.

This would have been one of the highlights on One More Light. Nothing special but it's decent.

I like this. Surprised this didn't make it onto One More Light considering some of the songs that did. Should be huge

This is okay. Not great, but it's listenable, I guess. The fact that it's already top 10 is very telling about the format though; it has zero place on it and wouldn't have charted if the band name was different.

While I find the song to be alright it's not exactly Active ready. I wish Saul had done this song. Let's see how high that would have climbed.

To elaborate. I have a problem with active's overreliance on their staples, and I know I am not the only one who thinks so. These artists can put out something that is liked less, or something that sounds off tangent for the format and still get a hit. Shinedown just got two of their Rock AC songs to #1. (though one can argue that the later one got helped by its crossover on other formats, "Daylight" is the one I have a bigger problem with because it feels less like a rock song) Pop Evil ventured into poppy territory with two songs and both went top 10. Granted, they didn't go top 5, but they still went top 10 and made a year-end list. In fact, every song in the top 10 right now is by an artist who has had a hit before. Newer artists (who fit the format) have less of a chance or/and have to rely on copious amounts of overnight airplay because of artists either doing the same thing over and over again, or making songs that don't quite sonically fit the format, as this song has proven by it being top 10 on active rock. And that means screwing over artists bigger with the general public, the more egregious examples being in recent memory, Sleep Token, Spiritbox, and even the new BMTH singles, depending on if Columbia are promoting them or are waiting on another song.
To me, this situation just sucks, and is why I am a bit worried about the increased reliance on veterans for Alt (which this song fits a bit more) - are they gonna become another active and ignore newer artists (that fit the format, read: not blackbear or Kid LAROI)? Granted, the situation on alt right now is better than 2019-2021 Alt, but I'm not quite sure if how long the combo of veterans and active/AAA crossovers is gonna last. It makes the chart a bit more interesting, for sure, but would there be another change in the tide?

i know people aren’t huge on the One More Light era but as a long time fan of the band, this song blowing up the way it is is really special. Glad that the guys are working on & releasing music, even if it is just vault tracks.

#1. What a surprise. You realize Aternative Rock's top 10 chart consists of nothing but veteran acts. They even found a way to off "Nothing Matters" before "One More Time". So does that mean that today's younger listeners would rather support 90's bands that their own generation? Kind of ass backwards if you think about it.

It'll all be better when Linkin Park follows this up with "QWERTY" and we're all banging our heads like we should have back in 2007. Seriously, I've heard "QWERTY", the song clears everything on Minutes To Midnight in spectacular fashion. The best leftover between this, "Lost", and "She Couldn't" IMO.

It's cool to see it being a mix of 90's, 00's and 10's acts as well, and not just an oversaturation of 90's artists. There's currently 4 "newer" artists out of the top 20 (Bad Omens, Royal Otis, Cannons and DJO), and that's wild to think that would ever be the case. Look at the 2011 charts this week, we had 4 "older" artists in the top 20 (Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, MCR and Seether) It's crazy how thing have flipped in the span of 13 years.

I echo the thoughts of LP still getting hits after the passing of Chester. Love seeing it. NGL though, if i didn’t already know this was LP, i would swear it was an Imagine Dragons song lol (but i still like it)
