I could have done without the whole thing. I'm certainly all for amateurs getting a chance to show what they can do... just not at the Grammy Awards.
A lot of artists miss out on getting televised presentations for big awards. I appreciate the focus more on the performances than long speeches, but I'd hate to be a nominee who lost out on a performance or precious acceptance speech in favor of My Grammy Moment.

I wonder what Bill O'Reilly gonna say about the Dixie Chicks sweeping the Grammys.
Is he gonna grill the award show for being anti-war and then chase the president of NARAS in the parking lot like they did with a bunch of judicial judges.

The Grammys were good. Christina needs to stop oversinging she's going to lose her voice one day. I like Timberlake, but lets admit he doesn't have a great voice. (But then again Michael Jackson or Prince doesn't either) But Timberlake is a great performer. (Like Michael Jackson and Prince) Shakira needs some more hits!!! Rascal Flatts......ugh. Carrie did well. Gnarls was intresting, but they need some more hits. Same thing with James Blunt. Something about them just screams one-hit wonder; I hope I'm wrong. Maines from the Dixie Chicks needs to shut up, but I'm happy for them. Someone give Chris Brown an oxygen tank!!!!!!!
I can't believe that Beyonce got only one damn award! That ruined my night.

Carrie Underwood's rendition of "Desperado" has been on my mind since last night. Her voice sounded so perfect, she hit every note and was able to bring new life to the song.
It brings a brand new life to the song and the way she sang it, with such unrelenting emotion, it just brings tears to my eyes. I have no doubt in my mind that Carrie Underwood will be the biggest thing in Country music. Bigger than Shania, Bigger than Kenny.

Why Did Christina Fall to Her Knees?
Answer: Because she's the godmother of soul!
Indeed, Christina Aguilera had no problem giving her petite body over to the ghost of James Brown at the 49th annual Grammy Awards Sunday night at L.A's Staples Center. (Watch her perfomance HERE)
During a soulful performance of "It's A Man's Man's Man's World," Aguilera wowed the Grammy crowd as she nailed his signature mic drop, sent her voice up five octaves and strutted around the stage. The only thing missing was Brown's famous cape drop (it probably clashed with her outfit anyway).
Either way, Aguilera earned a full standing ovation and thunderous applause. Call us crazy, but we think someone else might be bringing sexy back.
Ha!

Because there are horrendous people like Sharkira and XXXTina performing. Who'd want to watch that? I certainly didn't bother watching. Well there are a lot of people who want to watch them performing. Don't be so self-centered please. Please. It was a rhetorical question. Don't be so... never mind. so I don't see how Juhn can say they won too many. Aguilera and Underwood definately deserved theirs man, their abundant ONE award Christina deserves ZERO, so one is "too many". Carrie Underwood won 2, not 1 (like you said earlier in the post) You can't stop from contradicting yourself in the same post, sentences apart?

Christina did really well with her performance. I think some people are being overcritical... I mean, yeah that one screech was pretty bad, but the rest of the performance and her energy were amazing.

Dixie Chicks deserved their wins, as did Mary J, ect.
But IMHO Imogen Heap was robbed for BNA. Imogen could wipe Carrie's face on her ass (clothed in fugly clothes) and sing her heart out.
Imogen dresses like she was playing dress-up with old garments in the clothing chest, but she sings a thousand times better than Carrie Underwood. The fact that Imogen wasn't even asked to perform was even more heartbreaking.
And then Imogen stands up as Carrie is announced the winner of BNA. If you look closely Imogen acts as if she's ready to congratulate Carrie (whose oklahoman ass is infront of her), and Carrie just runs downs.

I don't know much about television, but if I were in charge of a network, you can be sure that Shakira would have her own weekly prime-time show in which she would be required to repeat the showstopping explosion of rhythm, melody and undulating sexuality that she performed with Wyclef Jean about an hour into the 2007 Grammy Awards. Compared to "Hips Don't Lie" (they don't!), the rest of the show was pretty lackluster. It's not exactly a fair comparison — most three-alarm fires would be dull compared to Shakira. Not to say that Grammy didn't try.

Bigger than Shania? Shania had one album alone sell over 38 million worldwide. Shania headlines huge concerts worldwide and is an icon. Carrie won't even come close to that success. She is more of a Lean rimes type mold, good singer, doesn't write her songs,no charisma. This is Carrie's peak, a new singer will come along and be the flavor of the year. You don't have huge stars like SHania anymore who tracend genres.

I love how this idiot jumps the gun whenever there's the SLIGHTEST wiff of a possible anti-war, anti-"American" moment, yet he practically ignores all the travesties of the Bush administration. Fucking asshole.

Should've Won: "Stupid Girls" for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (instead of "Ain't No Other Man") It's a shame Pink's label didn't submit Who Knew for consideration. Underoath's video should've won over the treadmill novelty.

Watch again, Carrie was already out of her seat and hugging the writer of "Jesus Take the Wheel" a few rows back before Imogen started to stand and clap. Someone else mentioned this, so I watched it again it wasn't even close to what you said.

Immi was a few isles behind her anyway, wasn't she? She was in the seat directly behind Carrie. Carrie was by both her and James Blunt who was behind Imogen before they stood. The person next to Imogen stood up, but Imogen didn't until Carrie had passed.
