52. Green Day "American Idiot"
Other than that, I don't recognize anything so far.

All of those are right except #56 (though "Hey Ya!" does appear later).

Since no one's been replying to this one in hours, I'll give further lyrical clues 60. "you're skin and bones, and I'm a nervous wreck" 59. "stop and look upon your face/Disappear in the sweet, sweet gaze" 58. "Yeah your heaven is a lie/just more s**t that I don't buy" 57. I'm not using lyrical clues for this song, which likely no one recognizes. This is half of the representation of the artist we have for now when you reach this point. 56. "somebody get us some water in here/'Cause it's HOT!" (other than the minor error, you all may get this one) 55. "the foundation is canyoning, faultlines should be worn with pride" 54. "she's a punk rocker, she don't trust no one"

That is correct. I am in the belief that some people just haven't been looking, because all of the remaining clues are for singles. #60, 59, and 55 are all successful Alternative singles. #56 was a very minor hit of that chart.

56. N.E.R.D. "She Wants to Move"
In not getting "Red Hot Moon," I'll take comfort in the fact that I only had a 28-minute window after the new clue anyway.
60, 58, & 55 are so familiar, but I just don't hear them yet.

Heh, I probably figured out the remaining three faster than I could guess anything I ended up with earlier.
60. Taking Back Sunday - A Decade Under The Influence 58. Local H - California Songs 55. Incubus - Talk Show(s) On Mute

All of the above guesses are correct.
#59 is by a band who had all the acclaim with album #1, but finally have a hit with album #2

Note that if the song was not a single, it's 2 points, and if it also didn't make the chart, it's another point. Everything else is one point each.
Current results: Nicholas2.0 -- 16 crash46 -- 14 Matt4319 -- 10 ulij20 -- 8 insect2 -- 7 topay -- 5 The Wannabe DJ -- 1 MikeK102 -- 1
2 tracks were also give-aways.

Okay, now we're finally on the second half of this:
50. "another line without a hook" 49. "he's waiting for last calls"
48. "I'm addicted to your punishment" 47. "I'm in the basement" 46. "glide by the people as they start to look and stare"
45. "up in the club with my homies" 44. "don't want to hear about it" 43. "well sit tight, 'cuz you haven't seen the rest"
42. "There was no remorse" 41. "look who's coming back home again"

Actually, that song will come even later in the guessing game. I know that Nicholas2.0 knows the song, but not sure about anyone else.

God, I can almost hear #48, but I don't know what it is yet.
45. Usher f/ Ludacris & Lil Jon "Yeah!"
And I'm afraid I don't recognize #42 yet.

And I'm afraid I don't recognize #42 yet. You might not, but I remember you mentioning how you caught the track on HBB one day. It never made your personal chart, but think of what's perhaps the heaviest band to make an entry on my personal chart. Oh yeah, and #47 would come clear to you since it actually did make your chart. Same artist as #94.

Same artist as #94. I can't believe I didn't recognize "GAWM." I knew it was a heavy rock song, but still... 047. Placebo "English Summer Rain" And give me a minute while I go make 100% sure of what 42 is. I'm 99%, but I just wanna go listen to it to hear the lyrics (maybe, ha!)

Something else worthy of being mentioned:
#44 was my #1 song of 2003. This song took forever to go away on my personal chart.

Further clues for the remaining 4:
49. "he's waiting for last calls" -- Came out late 2003. Like the 2001 "hit", this did well, but stalled in the 20s and petered out from there on the Alt. chart. 46. No one apparently got this long clue, despite the fact that it's a cover of an 80s funk hit. 43. Track from a band who is no longer on a record label. That didn't stop this song from almost making the top 30 on alternative (or maybe I overlooked and it did). 41. I don't know whether or not it was an official release, but I thought it was. Track by legendary indie rockers.
NOTE: It'll be like 3 days perhaps before I look back here.
