They're a scottish band fronted by Sharleen Spiteri. They did have one minor hit in the US & UK in 1989 with 'I don't want a lover' but their major breakthrough was in 1997. Since then they've had a quite incredible 5 UK airplay #1's, all of which have spent either 5 or 2 weeks at #1, incidentally.
Their airplay chart toppers:
Say What You Want (5 weeks) Halo (2 weeks) Black Eyed Boy (2 weeks) In Our Lifetime (5 weeks) Summer Son (2 weeks)
Other notable hits include 'In Demand' 'When We Are Together' 'Inner Smile' and 'Put Your Arms Around Me'
They sell an insane amount of albums here too.
I'm amazed they never took off in the US with their recent material, it's VERY Hot AC friendly stuff.

Oh yeah I've heard of the band, Texas. I first heard about them when MuchMusic used to air those Smash Hits Awards during the Christmas season several years ago... I really haven't heard their songs so I can't judge how good/bad they are...

I've heard quite a few tracks by Texas; my favorite song by them is "Black-Eyed Boy". Some other good ones IMO are "Say What You Want" (not the remix with the Wu-Tang Clan), "When We Are Together", and "Inner Smile"

I actually have 2 of their CD's. The pop station here played "In Our Lifetime" a few years back, not for too long though.

I bought their "White on Blonde" album because I loved "Say Whay You Want". I haven't listened in awhile, so I'll have to put it on during the next couple nights to refresh.
I remember thinking it was good, but nothing special.

I only heard 3 of their songs: "In Demand" (the first song I heard, while on vacation in Spain), "Inner Smile," and "Say What You Want" with the Wu-Tang Clan (must be the most random collaboration ever). I liked the 3 songs I've heard.

I'm a Texas fan. I only have two of their CDs though (White On Blonde and The Hush) but I have a burned copy of Rick's Road. Sharleen has an amazing voice and my favorite song is probably In Demand.
Anyone know when their new album is going to be released? And what's their new single called?

I remember one of their videos had the lead singer (at least I think it was her) as an Elvis impersonator...I found that kinda wierd. Was it "Inner Smile"?

I love Put Your Arms Around Me. A #2 hit on my personal chart.
In distant second place is Say What You Want featuring the WTC. The original is third. Black Eyed Boy and the rest are annoying.

"Black-Eyed Boy" was the first song by Texas I heard, I think it was in '97. I remember it reminded me of the Supremes. The song annoyed me at first, but kinda grew on me.

Texas have a new single out right now actually, it's called 'Carnival girl'

"Say What You Want" is the only song I've heard from them. It's decent.

There's a remix with Wu-Tang!?
I loved them from 'Say What You Want' and 'Black Eyed Boy'. They usually hit my Top 100 in some form when they release a single. I liked 'In Our Lifetime', 'Summerson' and 'Inner Smile' too.

What was the name of the song with the lyrics "When I get that feelin'"? It always reminded me of "Sexual Healing" since it had the exact same line.

That's 'Say What You Want'. It was the song from the Jennifer Aniston movie 'Picture Perfect'.
