Gorillaz are releasing this on October 10.
A very dance-like tune; I wonder how it'll do in the formats?
Also, this hit #1 in August in the UK.

Wow, I'm glad you like it a lot. I LOVE it too ( ) and I even think it's better than "Feel Good, inc." but the former has more of a different appeal. I'm really curious to see how this does in the US after an excellent run in Europe and Latin America. ( I've heard a couple negative views for this song here though, but I'm glad it's hit the Pulse 100! This song hit #1 in July on my personal chart.

Like this song but it has nothing on "Feel Good Inc" and is almost too poppy for alternative.

I do like this song now but it's not even dance-rock, it's just dance. Even following up a #1 hit, this will do nothing here.

Yep; like I said before, I think this was a bad choice for a second single only in the US, but then again, the majority of the rest of the album tracks are electronica or alt.

Not a good choice. It sounds like a dance song.

It's sad because this song would be perfect for Pop, yet Pop will see it flop at Alternative and ignore it.

It sounds like a dance song. It is one, in a nutshell. I haven't seen an upcoming Pop release yet, but it's probably predictable that it's going to be released there too.

Their best bet is to payola this to TRL so they can get a download hit, and then Pop might play it. Otherwise, Pop won't touch this for the reason Slinky said.

God, this song is badass. And the video's even better than the one for "Feel Good Inc." I especially like the end, where it's only Shaun Ryder's bad dream and he's in bed with Murdoc, but then all of a sudden, that's Murdoc's bad dream.
Oh and that the only appearances Russel makes in the video is him on the john hearing the song through the walls.
:)
This song's like "Feel Good Inc." when it first came out, in that, every time it comes on, my body moves involuntarily, not a care in the world. Hopefully it'll at least do something on Alternative. I wouldn't think it's that dissimilar of a song. And it's following up a #1, for crying out loud.

I love the video too! My dad finds it funny how she dances, and (he has a very good eye for details) has told me that she "dances" very good and in tandem with the music. He's talking about Noodle, of course.
Heh, the ending's pretty cool too, but I don't get how Murdoc would dream of Noodle dancing in her room with a giant head of Shaun Ryder.

Just liek every other Gorillaz song, I was really confused by this song at first, but now, it's one of my favorites of the year. I really think this will make a small splash on CHR\POP, I mean 19-2000 (Soulchild Remix) made it to like #33, why can't this? The video is outstanding, probably one of the best this year.
What's the story with noodle, I'm pretty sure Noodle on the last album was an actual 10-year old relative of one of the member of Blur, and sang the main chorus in 19-2000. Who knows...those crazy Brits.

Who knows...those crazy Brits. I'm not too famiiar with the fuzzy story of the voices and their respective characters. For sure, there have been at least 10 different people given vocal credits for any of the four Gorillaz. I think an actual Japanese girl gives her voice to Noodles now; I've forgotten where I read that though. Also, at the moment, there are three members in Gorillaz: Damon Albarn (creator and vocal talents), Danger Mouse (producer), and James Hewlett (art direction, including videos). The rest (which I've also forgotten who; God I'm useful) left for other reasons.

from what i can remember from when 19/2000 charted on rick dees, noddle is voiced by miko hatori (sp), who's in a band with john lennon's son sean.

Foremost, Miho Hatari is one half of Cibo Matto, who released a couple of albums in the latter half of the '90's.

This was played on Alt Nation yesterday as well, and it sounds even better on tv (well, radio).

XM Ethel is on it too, but they don't usually have a problem with Alternadance. They play Fischerspooner and Daft Punk regularly as well.

Link: www.livejournal.com/users/gorillaz_news/88326.htmlJames Blunt wants to duet with GorillazIt has been reported in a national UK newspaper that UK singer/songwriter James Blunt likes Gorillaz and wants to duet with them at the MTV Europe Awards. "I'm a big fan of Gorillaz," he is quoted as saying, "I think they're great. And if they'd have me I'd love to sing with them at the awards.". Check out the article here US fans may not be familiar with Mr.Blunt's work (consider yourselves lucky in my opinion!) which has been dominating radio in the UK and Europe in the last few months, mainly due to his single 'You're Beautiful'. The news comes hot on the heels of another act saying they wanted to work with Gorillaz. New UK band Hard Fi went on record earlier this month as saying "That Shaun Ryder duet is amazing... It'd be an absolute honour if Damon ever wanted to get us to do something with Gorillaz - or anything he wanted, really." [source: Planet Sound, Channel 4 teletext, UK]. However, this is probably not happening as according to Gorillaz-Unofficial, Damon Albarn said that Blunt's music is "crap". Ouch.

Even if it's following up a #1 here, I'd be shocked if this found a home at any format. It's one of the weirdest-sounding songs I've ever heard.[/font]
