Dreaming of You by Selena My Immortal Evanesence Defaintly Dreaming of You. I always get tears when that song comes on. lol Let's see... Petals - Mariah Carey The Power of Goodbye - Madonna (I broke up with my first boyfriend when this song came out! lol) Faithfully - Journey Africa - Toto (My uncle who passed away used to love this song) My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion (I know it's a bit cheesy, but I bawled to this at the end of Titanic ) I'll think of more later.

Yeah everytime I hear it I do too, especially in the end of the Selena movie when you start hearing the piano :'( Same with My Heart Will Go On, well not as much anymore but sometimes on Titanic.

These songs don't exactly "depress" me now, but wen I overcame much adversity growing up earlier in my life, these songs hold deep sentimental value to me because these were songs I related to very much and still make me shed tears of value.
*******
Jackson Browne: "Sky Blue & Black" and "In The Shape Of A Heart" Counting Crows: "Round Here", "Sullivan Street", "Goodnight Elizabeth", "Amy Hit The Atmosphere" Dave Matthews Band: "Don't Drink The Water", "The Last Stop", and recently "Joyride" Hootie & The Blowfish: "Not Even The Trees" matchbox twenty: "Kody", "Hang"
********
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I wouldn't say these songs "depress" me in any way but it's hard for me to listen to them on repeat or anything no matter how good they may be since they are sad (or sound that way) and *almost* make me wanna shed a tear or two. I'm sure I'm missing some on this list since this is off the top of my head so I might edit this post if I remember any more in the future. Anyway, this list isn't in any particular order:
- Gin Blossoms - Until I Fall Away - Mariah Carey - I Don't Wanna Cry - Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men - One Sweet Day - Madonna - The Power Of Goodbye - No Doubt - Don't Speak - Ricky Martin (& Christina Aguilera) - Nobody Wants To Be Lonely - Selena - Dreaming Of You - Roxette - It Must Have Been Love - Green Day - Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) - Janet Jackson - Again - U2 - With Or Without You - Almost everything on Sarah McLachlan's Surfacing, especially "Angel", "I Love You", "Full Of Grace", "Do What You Have To Do" - Almost everything on Evanescence's Fallen, especially "My Immortal", "Hello", "Taking Over Me"

"Jesus Take The Wheel" by Carrie Underwood The metaphor is so amazing and just brings me to tears every time. really :/ I'm really happy she made that song though.
"Dance With My Father" by Luther Vandross Too relatable to not make me sad. I can't listen to it much.
"Como Te Extraño" (~Oh, How I Miss You) by Pete Astudillo It's such a cheerful song, being a cumbia and everything, but it freakin makes me sad. It was originally a tribute to Selena, on top of that, but it's relatable to anyone you miss.

Sheryl Crow - Crash and Burn Jewel - Amen, Painters, Adrian (Pieces of You is full of really depressing but awesome tunes) Fiona Apple - Sullen Girl Bjork - Pagan Poetry
It's interesting how I can't think of a song sung by a man that touches my heart in a depressing way. I guess women can do that better.
EDIT: Yeah, I can think of one! Ewan McGregor dueting with Nicole Kidman in Come What May! The movie's last scene version! And talking about films, I think the saddest song EVER is Bjork's last song on Dancer In The Dark. I cried like a girl.
EDIT 2: OMG! Nothing Compares 2 U! Sinead's fantastic here!

Puff the Magic Dragon (lol, I know) Oh yes. I don't get how anyone can get through this song without bawling and thinking that life is meaningless. The dragon just sits and waits there and no one comes! :'(
