O.K Spooky....be honest, and put your lamb torch too the side...do you really think Mariah can come up with 10 Milllion WW without great U.S sales??...lol...be honest.......ok...now you see my point...thank you. The thread was created for opinions on the probability of success on Janet and Whitney's next projects, not for me to troll with unnecesary worldwide sales statistics on Mariah. Every topic does not need to turn into a Mariah vs. Madonna circle jerk and some of us are mature enough to see, respect, and avoid that. If you want a discussion about how much Mariah can sell worldwide, simply create a new thread as such and I'm sure the Mariah trolls will join you in there. Ya'll can then debate how much she sold in Croatia and Turkmenistan. So, no, I don't see your point nor do I care to.

I love how Mariah lambs bash every non-US country and Global success just because she is not nearly as successful overseas. And listing off the world's smallest countries while doing so has become SOOOOOO cliche, there are several large markets outside of the US, not just minute sales locations like the two countires you mentioned.

Pick a country. Any country. Did you get one? Yay, you win a cookie! In other words, I really don't care what country you picked. I have no interest in getting into a Mariah sales discussion with you or anybody in this thread Wanna talk WW sales? Lets discuss how much you think Janet or Whitney will sell worldwide......Methinks Janet will struggle with this album. I'm thinking maybe 1MM (shipments) in Europe after all is said and done. I'll wait until I hear new Whitney material to do any estimates. I suspect she will have it as bad though.

Actually, I believe the thread is about Janet and Whitney. Based on the title of it, there's no need to discuss Mariah or Madonna at all because both have already excelled. You're here to discuss whethyer Janet and Whitney will also.
Carry on.

Jermaine is no Rene - meaning even though he IS talented, he just doesn't have the ability to have Janet to BRING IT. She seems too busy in love to worry about her album. I say leave Jermaine at the cutting room floor, and come with it. She can excell, just not with this album.
ON THE OTHER HAND....
Whitney is going to be coming off of a major divorce. The entertainment outlets are finally coming back around. Most people, after the hearing about the divorce, asked about the music. They want the music. If Whitney can BRANG IT, there is NOTHING she can't do. Hell, MLIYL only scanned 2.8 Million in the US and sold 8 Million outside of the US. Same for W: TGH, but in that case, she only scanned 1.5M in the US. International fans love some Whitney Houston, IF and only IF she can bring it. I think she can. And remember Bobby Brown....It's OVER!!

Not to be disappointing, but TEOM has yet to score 3m outside the US. IFPI stopped at 2m 'overseas a year from its release, and there have been virtually no shipments since. It still is at exactly 1m in the EU, as it was in Jan 06, anyway, yes. COAD is past the 6m overseas, shipments in the EU alone are reaching 5m, almost half a million in Japan alone (470K?)....
Back to the topic, as I said, it doesn't look good for eaither Whitney or Janet

Although I do believe TEOM has at least sold 9.5 Million, look at Beyonce's "Dangerously In Love." Sony/Columbia/Matthew claims it sold 11 Million WW, which is impossible because, as NG was dying out internationally, the album had only sold a little over 8 Million.

Yeah, whatever label Mariah happens to have a contract with, that label will be the first one to inflate figures. Anyway, Janet's second week number is pretty awful. A drop of 77% to a mere 69k, according to Hits.

TEoM has been declared to the IFPI at 8.2m full stop. If we read magazines you'll read any number. It's the IFPI that companies declare sales to, and it's 8.2 (of which 1m in the EU). There might be adjustments in the near future (in the UK for example, sales can be declared up to 16 months later) but unlikely to make a huge difference.

Yeah, supposedly, but leave it up to the stupid insecure Madonna fans to continue to try and make this about Mariah. You'll continue to have these disagreements.

Her label said 10M. Its 10M. Give it up you madge fans Nope, magazines asauid 10m, the record company declares 8.2m to the IFPI, has paid tax on 8.2m and paid royalties for 8.2m. That is it. Check IFPI end-of year slaes and you'll see. It was 7.7 last year and a further 500k shipped this year. fanzines can say what they want. Tax and copyrights are paid according to what the record company declares. That's 8.2m. Anyway, numberwise, neither Whitney not Janet will get any where near that.

Does someone have to make a thread about *only* Janet and Whitney?
If you people HAVE to bring in sales, provide a link to your source so at least it can be agreed upon or disputed. If you can't back up your claim, don't bother making one.

LOLO Go Jenny, tell that to baluba's pimpled face. A thickhead madonna slave who thinks Madonna is a God. Mariah has sold 10million, whether you accept it or not, TEOM has sold more than Madonna overall.
