What are some artists that will probably have a greatest hits or best of collection soon?
I know I've made this topic before but I forget if it was here or not.
I'm sure Jewel will have one maybe later this year or next year. Her contract is done and she's looking to leave so the label will probably release a Jewel's greatest hits. She does have enough of them!
Our Lady Peace has six studio albums. I'm wondering when they'll put one out. Will they wait and then put one out to celebrate 20 years together with a double disc set or something? They certainly have enough hits (an average of three per album, give or take a few from each one).

Mary J. Blige was supposed to release one last year, but she put out The Breakthrough instead. I think she's overdue for one.

3 Doors Down has put out enough songs to warrant a greatest hits CD. Has Usher put out one? He may be overdue for one, too.

Kate Bush is due for a second greatest hits, possibly to come out by the end of the year.

Missy Elliot of course! She can even put one extra good new song and make it a big single. She always screws it up or takes WAY too long to realease a second single from a regular album and lets the album just die horribly... so one great song is all she needs! The rest of the album should be just great with all her greatest songs since the 90s.

If Jennifer Lopez's new english album is a hit she'll probably release one as well. Everyone's releasing GH this days

What about Jewel, LeAnn Rimes and Faith Hill? Do they have enough tracks?

I sure hope Garbage puts one out soon.
Wouldn't be surprised to see one from Green Day (if they don't already have one...I don't know)
Nickelback MIGHT be due for one too, considering they've had 5 albums released to date.
Heck I wouldn't be surprised if Pink put one out too
(Oh and I'm crossing my fingers for a Spice Girls one haha)

I still don't know what the Goo Goo Dolls are waiting for. They definitely need to get one!

Garbage put one out this month, didn't they?
And Faith Hill already had one, didn't she?

Faith Hill had a "Best Of" international release, but not a formal GH package here in the United States. She is deserving of one, but her next album is supposed to be a holiday package so..

Maybe she opted to do one more album so she can have more hits to put on the greatest hits collection? She has sooo many songs that could be on one collection. Maybe a double disc greatest hits that includes her hits as well as a few previously unreleased songs, and maybe even a new song or two.

What is the thinking behind Greatest Hits albums anymore? Is it a wrap-up album at the END of a career? Or is it something that is put out with a new song or two to keep an artist in the spotlight during a hiatus? Or is it just put out so an artist can meet the requirements of a recording contract? In my mind, once a greatest hits album is put out it looks like the artist on on the downside of their career. Do you feel this way too??
One group that has enough hits for a Greatest Hits album is Matchbox Twenty. I had even heard a year or so ago that their next album was going to be a Greatest Hits one. That was before Rob's solo effort and now he's saying a new MB20 album is the next thing in the pipeline.

LeAnn Rimes released one about 2 years ago.
The first name I thought of was Jewel.
Did the Goo Goo Dolls have one yet? Nickelback I also thought of.

Foo Fighters are ready for a greatest hits compilation. They've released five platinum albums spanning just over a decade with a consistent string of Alternative hits, more than enough to make a cohesive hits collection.
I'd go one more album with Nickelback before they release a Greatest Hits album. Having a Greatest Hits collection follow "All The Right Reasons" I feel would make the collection too largely dependent on "ATRR" and they need more balance.
Same thing with matchbox twenty. Most of their singles, except for "Long Day", "Mad Season", "Last Beautiful Girl" and "Downfall" (possibly "Disease") will continue to get a whole lot of recurrent play, therefore the band needs to give listeners a reason to buy a hits collection without hearing all the hits that won't go away jammed together. I'd release one more album if I were them before doing this.....and add one or two new tracks when they do release it.
Other artists I believe are good to go for hits collections are the Dave Matthews Band (six studio albums with both a lot of hits and fan favorites), Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel, Sarah McLachlan (although it may feel stale to some because she has released both a couple re-mix records and live records not too long ago), Oasis, Radiohead and Weezer.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Coldplay should put one out with a few unreleased tracks.

Coldplay should put one out with a few unreleased tracks. It's WAY too soon for that in my view. They've only released three albums so far that span just over six years. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I was searching for Oasis and Radiohead greatest hits/best of CDs not long ago, but I didn't find any. I'll definitely buy Oasis, Radiohead, and Dave Matthews Band hits CDs when they are released.
