Music on the radio has been gradually reviving. I've detected improvement in both rock and R&B, and these last couple of months with new albums by such topnotch artists as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Keane and Muse, plus some interesting new bands, this may turn out to be the best year in music since Bush has been in office.

Music for me is as good as it has ever been. Lately new releases haven't been GREAT in numbers but there's always something to look forward to.

I've only bought two new albums this year. Radio and the singles out have been good, but just not enough to get me to want to buy them.

Thats off the top of my head. Yep, the first half of 2005 was far better than 2006.

I think I prefer the first half of 05. But i'm feeling this year too.
My girl was back and I was glad that Gwen did her thing with "Rich Girl" and "Hollaback Girl". I was really impressed by Mint Condition comeback too, their last album is one of my favourites of this decade.
I thought that there were a bit more hot urban jams too (1 Thing, Slow Down, Signs, Hate It Or Love It, I'm Ready etc).

The ifrst half of 05 had hits but the last half died away quickly. I think the last half of 06 will be great what with the new gals all comming out with new stuff.
So the first half of 05 was great, and I think the last half of 06 will be too. SO put em together and you'll have a gerat first half of the year!

I think this year is just now starting to get good.
2005 was such a good year.

Rock, R&B and Rap were far better in early '05... But I think pop is better so far in '06.

2005 was amazing.
Although 2006 has brought Lily Allen, Loose, Eurovision, and "Faster Kill Pussycat," I don't think it can compare yet.

I thought 05 was bland. Mariah and Kelly had huge success but there was no excitement. There was also Fidy and The Black Eyed Peas as well as Cold Play but none created a buzz. The music was solid but over all it wasboring to me.

You have to look beyond the top of the mainstream US heap. What about Arctic Monkeys, Girls Aloud, The Killers, Fall Out Boy, Jason Mraz, Panic! at the Disco, Gorillaz, the Kaiser Chiefs, Rachel Stevens, and the Sugababes? I think all of those are a large part of what made 2005 awesome.

In general music is pretty much on par.
Pop music was pretty crappy in 2005 and in 2006 (with a few exceptions).
There have been some fabulous releases in 2006, although probably not of the high caliber of the great albums of 2005 like Sufjan Stevens' "Illinois", "The Woods" by Sleater-Kinney, or the 2004 release "Funeral" by the Arcade Fire.
