Janet, Madonna, and Mariah all have now released comeback singles after their "flop" projects. What single do you like the best?
Call On Me, Hung Up, or It's Like That
I choose Hung Up. I feel its one of Madonna's best singles ever and it was the biggest hit of the three songs.

Is this another one of those threads that's just started to show how superior Madonna is to whatever other major american pop-stars are being compared to her? Obviously it is, because Mariah's actual comeback song, 'We Belong Together', was much bigger hit than Madonna's song. All of Madonna's followups did very poorly as well - and Mariah had a #2 and #1 hit with the other singles she put out.
So - be realistic at least. Don't we have enough of these threads?

He's right. Who cares. I would rather a general topic on any artists best comeback singles.

Wow! I didn't want to start a fight! Why is everyone so "on edge" here? Anyone need a Valium?
And It's Like That IS Mariah's comeback single. If WBT was the comeback single, it would have been released first.

Comeback singles are about success, giving the artist a come back...not the order in which they were released. 'It's Like That' was a flop Mariah-wise...She came back to her old success with 'We Belong Together.' If you're not trying to start a fight with this set-up thread don't say stupid bullsh*t.
There are plenty others of these Shania vs. Mariah vs. Madonna Carrie vs. Nelly threads for you to go to where any artist's success or minor accomplishments can be twisted around, squished on, or blown up by fans or haters.

This might as well have been put in the polls forum... cause all you're asking is to say which you like best.... you're not initiating any type of discussion here regarding any of their comebacks, which I feel is more suited to this forum.
either way...... I prefer it's like that......i like it better than the other two.... and it served to pave the way for mariah's comeback.... WBT was the COMEBACK moment..... but, It's Like That was the ignition....

Comeback ensues success. A single can't be a comeback unless its a success. Call on Me, Hung Up nor It's Like that were successes in the U.S., so none of them were really comeback singles since the artists didn't really come back from anything. Hung Up, however, was a comeback worldwide, and WBT was clearly a comeback in the U.S.

Hung Up had huge sales, which got it to #7 on the Hot 100. Hung Up was a hit, but it wasn't a major Cher "Believe" comeback,

don't compare the success of "Hung Up" with "We Belong Together"... the success of Mariah is just for radio airplay not for sales or anything... "Hung Up" was #1 on digital sales for 2 weeks and performed very good on the singles chart... just imagine if hung up, sorry and get together received the same airplay like the three next Mariah's singles... and for me the Mariah's success is only on states... Madonna is a huge worldwide star even in the US... look @ her tour... that's all I have to say...

Out of the recent comebacks (Justin, Christina, Jessica, etc.) I'd say they're all pretty mediocre to good. Although some brought different styles (Justin and Christina), none of the comebacks wowed me much. My favorite "comebacK' would have to be Keane's, if that counts as a comeback. It was definitely different from their previous sound, like the artists I mentioned above, but, I don't know...I actually liked it a lot.
For some reason, I didn't like Christina's much, despite her being one of my favorite artists.
If we're still talking about the above singles, "Hung Up" can totally get it.

Sexyback took the cake for me... Though I did enjoy Hung Up, Dirrty, Me Against The Music, Incomplete, etc. :)

Well one could argue that Madonna didn't really have much to "comeback" from. Re-Invention was HUGE!
But I love WBT

Yeah, but Mariah's airplay translated to huge album sales in the U.S. Many artists have gotten a lot of airplay without the album sales to match. Album sales are much more important than just a sale of a single.

people who said 'it's like that' flopped are out of their damn minds
somebody who's highest charting single was #81 2 years earlier getting a #16 peak?
COMEBACK! it was her best charting single in 5 years. give the woman credit where its due.
i thought madonna's "comeback" was very minor. i think people blow it way out of proportion when the fact is it wasnt incredible at all. she has the star power to get a comeback im sure, she just needs to get lucky.
we have yet to see if janet has a comeback or not, but things are definitely on the look up.

Hung Up is the best song of the ones listed. Dont know if that was the question or not because everyone is screaming about sales and airplay rather than the music.

Sorry and Get Together didn't were hits just because radio airplay... like now is happening to YOUR LOVED MIRACLE...
yep but just imagine if hung up, sorry, and get together had the airplay that WBT, SO and DFAU had in US... the sales for madonna's album were HUGE... with a barely played single like hung up and a minor hit like sorry and a flop like get together she has sold 1.5+ millions of copies of her album in US... that's not a flop...
and I loved WBT too... but that was #1 because airplay... and "hung up" is better...
for me the BEST comeback was "promiscuous"... "sexyback" is good too... but one year ago I never thought that nelly furtado will be a #1 single and album in US......

Yeah, but why didn't Madonna's hits get much airplay in the first place? I mean, it's not like it's Mariah's fault that her singles got so much plays from the radios, right? Anyway, I like both HU and ILT, not so much for Sorry, GT or COM.

"Hung Up" wasn't played more and sorry and GT flop just for political and age reasons against madonna... that's all...
and mariah only do something that was "IN" @ the time (just R&B/POP with featuring rappers and call it "REMIX" just like J-HO..)

"Hung Up" wasn't played more and sorry and GT flop just for political and age reasons against madonna... that's all... LMAO .. loving this new excuse .. keep working it, perhaps someday someone will believe it LMAO LOL &and mariah only do something that was "IN" @ the time (just R&B/POP with featuring rappers and call it "REMIX" just like J-HO..) really, you need to change this tired old rekkid, you keep repeating the same thign over and over .. what is it you don't get? "It;s Like THat", "We Belong Together", "Shake It Off" & "Don't Forget About US" .. none of them featured rappers .. "say Something" did and it flopped (not nearly as bad as GT, Sorry & HU) if you want to argue your point, have some validity in your arugment otherwise nobody will take you seriously ;)

^^^What is wrong anyway with doing something that is "IN"? Anyway, Mariah's music has always been a mix of pop/ R&B, and the public just happens to love that kind of music.

It's not her fault It's just something called 'P A Y O L A' if it's as easy as payola, Christina's "ain't no other" would be on the top of the charts, not barely hanging on in the top 10. suck it troll ;)

LOL, Lambs are the funniest things alive Yup, it's a bit hard for u guys to see how the Mariah team is always involved on some sort of 'help' to build up her way into the top of the charts.
If not payola, it is the 50cents singles being sold And of course there might have been some money going on for 'Aint No Other Man' aswell, dont u know the bussiness we are in today? It's all about money darling, but like it or not, it wasnt just 'for the music' that Mariah went all the way to the top of charts with WBT and the singles from the MIMI era, the right name is really PAYOLA
like it or not doll ;)
