I spoke to Matt and we both agree that this will make it a lot more organised. Basically, don't post specific song topics in Music News. On Radio & Records, we would post about songs in Music News, but now we basically have a seperate forum for each genre. Since we came to Pulse Music Board, specific song topics have basically been kept out of the Music News forum. However, we do have a few and I just think they're very out of place, and basically always already have a longrunning discussion in a chart forum.
So if you want to post about Ashanti's new SONG, that goes to the Urban forum. If you want to post about her tour or her new album, that goes to Music News. If you want to post about an album track that has not been released, you can put it in "Your Opinion Please".
The only problem we may run into is with artists who can chart on Alternative/ Modern Rock and Hot AC/ Triple A. I guess in that case use your best judgement.
Thanks guys. :)

I think this'll be a good idea and for songs that are multi-format, there isn't really a problem to have it in multi forums, imo.

Sounds like a good idea, but what if you want to talk about the new Ashanti song in the pop forum?

Yeah, we can't really have a "downloading/sharing" forum here because it's promoting illegal activity as per the ProBoards Terms of Service. And as stated earlier, the boards are monitored by ProBoards staff.

This is a very good idea. It'll farm out the heavy traffic in Music News to other forums. Not that I care anymore.

But what about non-U.S. releases that will never chart on CHR/Pop, CHR/Rhythmic, etc.? For example, that new Amy Studt single topic was moved to CHR/Pop. But why? It's only being released in the U.K.
If I were to make a topic about Crystal Kay's J-RnB single "Candy," would it be moved to CHR/Rhythmic or CHR/Pop, despite only being released in Japan?

Well if international songs are put in those forums then the definition needs to be expanded to not just be about the R and R charts for those formats.

I think for the songs that don't fall into a particular format, Your Opinion Please? would be fine.

CHR/POP Discuss the CHR/Pop chart here. ??? It also says "You can also post about specific songs as they relate to the charts." Though it's just listed under AC, it goes for all the forums.
