I didn't think "Out Of The Blue" was a very good 1st single. It is a good song but kinda boring and not nearly as good as any of her hits of "Innocent Eyes"

Why do I have 0 interest in this whole project? :'( OOTB is pretty good after a while, but I'm still not convinced at all to get her album. :(

The album is by far better than her debut. If you even thought her debut was half decent then you have to get her new album - it's full of great songs. I can't speak highly enough about it. OOTB is no indication of the album as a whole, and I can understand why it's not inspiring you to pick up the album.
I was a little disinterested in this project at the start due to Delta overload (if you lived in Australia, you'd know why!) but as soon as I heard it I fell in love wtih her all over again. It's the best album of the year.
I hear A LOT of potential singles on the album. I've actually tried to narrow it down to the most likely ones and that list is impossibly long. If you see the reviews and fan opinions, the number of songs people are suggesting as singles is nearly every song on the album. I'd say any of these could be singles:
The Analyst Mistaken Identity (the 2nd single) Extraordinary Day (fantastic lyrics, and it reminds me of NMNI in its sound) Little Too Late (the catchiest and most obvious for that reason) Be Strong (lyrically strong and very 'Delta', a fan favourite, it's like "Born To Try", it takes a few listens. She performed this on a TV show recently so it might be an indication) Electric Storm Almost Here (will be a single at some stage, they already made a video) Last Night On Earth (a little over the top but seems to be a fan favourite and could be a smash) Disorientated (quirky Delta)
So that's nearly the whole album, that I coud *realistically* see being singles. Her debut album only had the 5 released singles and "Thow It Away" IMO.
The only song I don't love is "You Are My Rock" which either should've been left off, or should've been the hidden track. "Nobody Listened" is too good to be a hidden track, I don't know why they'd want to make it a hidden track and it really shows another side of Delta.

Is her Australia commercial song on the album? If so, I'll have to get it! (I saw it again on CNN a few days ago.) Thanks for the recommendations. I'll listen to the clips.

Nah her Australia song isn't on the album! I'm sure you can download it off a fan site somewhere. Do you like the commercial?? Does it make you want to come to Australia?

OMG what's up with the clips that Sony made for this album - a lot of them don't even have the chorus in the clips..... don't judge off the clips! Try to download a few of the songs and judge off them instead...

The album's looking at a debut around #22 in the UK, with about 25,000 first week sales.

It's about 10,000 less than her debut opened with, but very good sales for a #22. Outside the holiday season she'd be top ten. Still a disappointment, if it plunges from here she's in trouble.

She just needs her second single in the UK to be a hit. I think she needs the Brian McFadden duet to get her some more recognition over there. I don't think that's planned to be his 2nd single though.... I heard it was due out around Feb or Mar?

Brian's career is as good as over already. He'd just drag her down with him.

I think 'Almost Here' is just for U.K. release and should help her sales over there.

Didn't Brian just have a recent #1?? Yeah but his new single, also tipped for #1, is midweek 8. I suspect a Kym Marsh-esque career trajectory....

Have they shot the video for the Brian duet already? I thought I saw clips from it during a TV ad for her album.
I'm trying to get excited about it, but it's really tough. I don't even have a proper mp3 of OOTB yet, only the one posted when it first got played on radio.

Yeah the video for "Almost Here" was shot about a month ago. You can see a clip of it on his site.
It's not his second single is it? I heard it was going to be his third.

There haven't been any reported plans for the USA yet... I'm guessing either early 2005 or late 2005. She is touring in July so the middle of the year will be occupied with that, as she's said it's going to be a big show which will involve a lot of her time in preparing.

News about Delta's first concert in the USA...
Delta Goodrem To Showcase at South By Southwest By Paul Cashmere
29 November 2004
Delta Goodrem is one of the first Australian acts to announce a showcase performance at South by Southwest in Texas in 2005.
Although a household name in Australia and also a hit act in the U.K., Delta is still unknown in the USA. "This is a great media profile for her" Australia's SxSW co-ordinator Phil Tripp tells Undercover News. "For her, it gives her the chance to perform in front of an unknowing audience".
Tripp also today announced the first 20 acts from Australia and New Zealand heading to SxSW. From Australia they are Avalanches, Sarah Blasko, Bumblebeez 81, John Butler Trio, Cut Copy, Dan Kelly & the Alpha Males Ben Lee, Little Birdy, Machine Translations, Neon,Old Man River, Rocket Science, Xavier Rudd, Starky, Holly Throsby, Wolfmother as well as Delta Goodrem.
From New Zealand, The Coolies, The Have and The Mint Chicks will head to Texas for the event.
South by Southwest will be held March 16-20 in Austin, Texas.
All the other acts are indie type artists, or total unknowns (to me anyway!). Delta is definitely the odd one out.

Brian McFadden's album looks set for a disappointing debut outside the top twenty.
*FLUSH*
And if the duet IS out next, he'll take Delta down with him....

And if the duet IS out next, he'll take Delta down with him.... Maybe it can help boost both their albums. Both their star power combined will certain help the duet, which is a good song too.

Maybe it can help boost both their albums. Both their star power combined will certain help the duet, which is a good song too. But they're both looking washed up right now. Delta at least isn't tabloidy enough that the papers have made a big deal of her album flopping, so a good song and she could come back. Brian, however, lives his entire life through the media, and they're going to absolutely bury him over this album's flop. He'll never recover from this.

So it's officially her second single now ? The 2nd single in Australia is "Mistaken Identity". Not sure about the UK but the duet isn't supposed to come out until early 2005 so she will likely release the 2nd single there too. The duet is really good, it could be a hit.

Delta gets royal seal By Christine Sams December 7, 2004 The Sun-Herald She might be Australia's pop princess, but Delta Goodrem is set to get a real regal taste when she stars in the Royal Variety Performance in London. The concert, which will be attended by Prince Charles, will be held in less than a fortnight's time. Insiders from Goodrem's camp have revealed the singer is preparing for the prestigious event and she will head to London just before the show on December 14. The song Goodrem will perform on the night is likely to be from her new album Mistaken Identity and, judging by early indications, she will perform her duet Almost Here with British singer Brian McFadden. Other stars appearing at the event include Sir Elton John, Ozzie and Sharon Osbourne, Gwen Stefani and Michael Buble. Prince Charles will be among the A-list guests in the audience at the London Coliseum on Trafalgar Square. The performance is likely to substantially boost Goodrem's profile in the UK. Her music has been warmly greeted there since her appearances on Neighbours, but she is yet to become a household name. The Royal Variety Performance is staged by the royal family as an annual charity event, but it is also screened on the BBC and watched by tens of millions of television viewers in the UK. Mistaken Identity debuted in Australia at No. 1, but was bumped off the top spot by Eminem, then U2 with their new album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. After three weeks in the charts, Goodrem's album remained at No. 3 last week, behind both those acts. The video clip for her next single the title track Mistaken Identity is expected to include a few surprising dance moves from the singer. Insiders say Goodrem is keen to incorporate dancing into her performances and she is likely to have fully fledged stage routines by the time she tours next year.

"Mistaken Identity" has been certified Gold in the UK. It might actually sell that total (100,000) if it doesn't plummet too much. Christmas sales are huge.
