It wouldn't surprise me at all if she worked with Walter Affanasief on the new album. ;)

Thalia was on Spanish TV today, and she said this about meeting Mariah early this year:
''I met Mariah at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Tommy and I had just arrived and I saw her, so I said "Tommy, look who's here! introduce me! introduce me!" So we met and I said "Finally!" and she said "Finally!"
She has a voice that started a new era in music in the 90s. I used to listen to her songs. She's accomplished so much in her career with her numerous number one songs. And who would've believed destiny would bring me with a part of her past.''

How is her new single doing on Billboard? Is this album selling well in Latin America even though it's flopping here?

Her new single hasn't charted yet on BB Hot Latin Tracks. She's working on a new english album with Corey Rooney. Good luck with that Thali!

I had hoped it was doing better outside the U.S. since it was doing so poorly here. The album isn't great, but it has 3 or 4 really good singles on it. So, I am little stumped as to why it's not doing better.

actually "Un Alma Sentenciada" debuted last week on the Hot Latin Tracks chart at #49, and this week i believe it jumped to #35.. it's also at #19 on the Latin Pop chart, and 30-something on Tropical
the singles haven't done that bad, but the album isn't doing excellent anywhere that i know of.. it's a shame because i think it's an excellent pop album.. the promotion needed/needs to be better

I'm glad that the second single is charting. Maybe this single will be the one that helps album sales ??? Because I can't believe the album is bombing this badly.

I think part of the reason the album is doing so poorly is because she is losing appeal. She hasn't done a soap opera since she got married. That's what kept her in the spotlight. That made her relevant. Musically, she's not really relevant. She sounds like everyone else out there with a pop album. She doesn't have an amazing voice so there's no appeal to her.
Also, the choice of first single was very poor. It was a nice song but not a first single choice. I think she needs to reinvent herself. Find something that will make her relevant again. Cause 15,000 first week sales in the US is nothing to brag about.
For her english album, she needs to work on her accent. I remember she performed at the NBA half time and no one knew what she was singing. Nobody even knew who Thalia was. Virgin did a horrible job of promoting her. But most importanly, her appeal value wasn't there. I hope they learned their lesson otherwise get ready for another bomb.

Well, 15K and a #63 debut is plenty to brag about for a Spanish CD and higher most other Spanish artists. There aren't a whole lot of artists who can manage to pull in numbers that high - Ricky Martin (65K), Shakira (160K), Chayanne (18K), Juanes (18K), Enrique Iglesias (32K) and Marc Anthony (35K) are pretty much it.

But Thalia is arguably just as much a household name as Ricky...yet she isn't shifting nearly as many units as him. She SHOULD be doing that much, especially after her English crossover. Virgin made her a 1-minor-hit-wonder in the English market. SMH. :(
I love "Seduccion." It's a JAM. Much better than "Amar Sin Ser Amada," which was always a semi-JAM.

There is no way that Thalia is as well known as Ricky. I don't know a soul who has ever heard of Thalia and everyone knows Ricky Martin. From the second Ricky performed at the Grammys in 1999 (1998?), he was a household name. Thalia never had that kind of exposure. Thalia's English album didn't even sell 500K copies and Ricky's breakout album went multi-platinum. Seriously, unless you are into Latin music, Thalia is just a non-entity as is Paulina Rubio.

Oh, sorry. I thought you meant in general they were equally famous. Thalia did have her highest debut of her career with this album, then it just tanked and I don't really know why. Bad reviews or not enough publicity?
Seduccion should have been the lead-off single for sure, instead. I think that would have helped the album more.

the reviews for the album weren't that bad, there were a few really good ones, one being from Billboard
and i don't really see why Amar Sin Ser Amada was a bad first single choice, i know i personally loved it from the first time i heard it, when she performed it on the Latin Billboard Awards.. it may not have really been a new sound or anything, but i thought it was veeery catchy.. but Seducción i do think is better and may have been a better choice
but other than promotion not being great, i don't think there's anything to explain the poor performance except that she's lost appeal, like vOlCaNiC said.. it happens, just hopefully she can come back

She'll come back but she has to go back to what made her a household name. Soap Operas. I would bet that if she did a soap and then came out with an album it would be a whole other story. Obviously, the music would have to be good. Otherwise, she's not going to get far. Her career has stalled and as much as she likes to brag about her trillion business adventures blah blah blah, she knows she's not what she used to be.

Her only remotely successful business adventure right now is Thalia Sodi.

So? Are they trying one more single or are they closing promotion for this album that has done so bad? I'm talking about commercial success. I cannot really comment about the music of the album because I still haven't heard all the songs in their entirety.

third single is "Seducción", video was already shot and will be out toward the end of the month
and now i heard that she's recording a new song with Estefano that will be used for the show Cantando Por Un Sueño in Mexico, and that it will be included on a re-release of her album, called 'El Sexto Sentido Reloaded'
i don't know how accurate all that is, but the part of her recording a new song for that show seems to be true at least.. if the re-release part is true then hopefully the album will have some other good stuff on it, not just that one extra song
she also is doing a new campaign with Hershey's, one for Valentine's Day and it will use the song "24000 Besos" from the album, and a Billboard article said that would be a single.. so i don't know if that will be a single after "Seducción" or if they were just confused and it will only be for the ad campaign

A song with Aventura? That's cool. Should be good, hopefully. She should work with the Neptunes on her english album. I think they can come up with some good stuff. BTW... IMO, they should forget about re-releasing the new album. Usually, rereleases are reserved for albums that are already doing good and adding a new song would make it more phenomenol. If she were doing a re-release, she should've done it by now in time for the holidays. Otherwise, it's gonna be hard to create buzz on something old and it's a waste of time honestly. MOVE ON THALI! Come up with something new.

I hate when I wait and wait to buy a flop album, and then as soon as I get it, a re-release is scheduled. >_< Oh well. The new song better be on Walmart/itunes/etc. or I'll be pissed.

i'm still not sure if the re-release is true.. she already recorded the new song and filmed her parts for the show, but i haven't heard anything from an official source about the re-release
one article said it would be out in February though.. the show Cantando Por Un Sueño starts Jan. 8, so that would seem about right if it's true.. and if it's true, i'm wondering if maybe it'll only be re-released in Mexico, since that show isn't gonna be seen in most of the U.S.

Otherwise, it'll be bad if the rerelease flops commercially. Though one more record sold, is another record she can add to her tally. She should focus on the new english album. Really work it out good. Don't rush it. I don't think she should work with Corey Rooney. He really isn't innovative anymore and doesn't bring anything new to the table.

I hear a reggaeton mix of one of her newer songs on La Kalle. I don't know what it is, but its hot. I love it.

El Sexto Sentido was just certified Platinum in the U.S. (Latin albums standards of course) i heard a small low quality clip of "Cantando Por Un Sueño", it sounded good, very catchy.. from the little bit i heard it seems like it has the feel of "Así Es El Destino" or "Y Seguir" from Thalia (2002)she looks great in pics from what i guess was the video shoot too :)
