Is this getting any airplay in Canada at all? I've seen alittle bit of promo on TV for Raine and how he's done some buskering in Toronto, I think, to raise money to build a new school in Congo (I think).
Anyway, this song is actually pretty good. I saw him performing earlier this year when he opened for wife Chantal Kreviazuk. I really liked the beats to some of the songs so I'm hoping they've been used on the songs from the album. There was this really haunting song with Chantal on backing vocals too that he did that I hope is on the record too.

Yeah but still, lol. I thought OLP lost a lot of their rock credibility over the last few years. Well, I guess if Canadian Rock stations were like US stations, OLP wouldn't have had a hit in years. I suppose Canadian stations are more forgiving to Canadian rock bands? Anyway, it's still a bit surprising considering the song is light rock, almost suitable for AC in some ways. I don't think it would get much Hot AC play though because it's not a typical pop/hot ac song either. It's not bad. His CD is pretty good too.

I suppose Canadian stations are more forgiving to Canadian rock bands? Well, it's mostly just CanCon. And their last singles have done decently on rock. Anyway, it's still a bit surprising considering the song is light rock, almost suitable for AC in some ways. I don't think it would get much Hot AC play though because it's not a typical pop/hot ac song either. Who says rock can't play some lighter songs? "Hard Sun" is #2 and it's definiately a Hot AC song to me IMO.

Yeah, I guess.
Even so, I'm still surprised that this is getting pretty good rock support nonetheless. ;)

OLP became a core Hot AC artist in Canada, so I hope this song will be played there.

His new solo album is fantastic IMO! Just the kind of thing I love listening to once in a while, plus I love his voice!

I'm liking the violin in this song. It's only in there a bit and even tho he reused the same recording for the first and third verse, it's still cool and interesting sounding, almost vintage!
I'm thinking this album might be a sleeper hit for me... even though I debated getting it because I knew it would be mostly an anti-political, world issues album and while it's good he's writing about the issues, I think Raine had been trying too hard when it came to OLP material for the last album.
