According to an article in today's New York Post, Courtney Love is recording a new album with the help of producer Linda Perry and former Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan appropriately titled "How Dirty Girls Get Clean."
COURTNEY Love is clean, sober . . . and modeling menswear for high-fashion line Dior Homme?The former grunge queen told friends she nabbed the improbable gig after a chance meeting with Dior designer Hedi Slimane at a dinner with director Milos Forman at Mr. Chow's in Los Angeles. Love recently posed for photos at a shoot in Chelsea for an upcoming Dior ad campaign. But don't start scouring the fashion glossies for pictures of Love in Slimane's trademarked skinny mens suits just yet - apparently Love didn't make the cut after all. "She popped by the Dior Homme campaign shoot but I can definitely tell you that she's not in the campaign," Dior spokesman Brian Phillips assured us. But Love was photographed by legendary lensman Mario Testino for the cover of Visionaire magazine last month. And the bad girl rocker seems to be mounting a comeback of sorts after her recent stint in rehab. We're told that the early tracks are some of Love's best work in years, and "X-Men: The Last Stand" director Brett Ratner is supposed to helm the video for her first single, "Letter to God." It's a far cry from the tabloid terror that Love was just two years ago. In 2004 she was arrested for hitting a fan on the head with a microphone stand at the now-defunct club Plaid, busted for beating up rival rocker Kristin King and hit with prescription-drug charges in California. The embarrassing year may have been summed up best by that infamous photograph of a strange man suckling Love's exposed breast outside Wendy's in Union Square just hours before her meltdown at Plaid. But during her visit to New York last week, Love was much more demure. She had dinner with friends at Tao, drank Diet Coke at the gay "Cuckoo Club" party at the Maritime Hotel and stuck to soda during a visit to Sway. On OhNoTheyDidn't, they were discussing some "scandal" involving Courtney. Nothing new. It was over this picture David La Chappelle did of her that had her looking like the Virgin Mary and the dude she was holding was supposed to be Jesus, but it looked just like Kurt Cobain.

Love Says Gibson Helped Her Get Sober
NEW YORK (AP) -- Courtney Love, who has been sober for 15 months, says Mel Gibson helped her on the road to recovery. Love, the former leader of the band Hole and widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, said Gibson had showed up at a Beverly Hills, Calif., hotel room while she was doing drugs with several men.
"Mel kept coming to the door with this cheesy grin going, `Hi!'" Love said in an interview with Diane Sawyer that aired Tuesday on ABC's "Good Morning America."
"I just kept looking at him going - I can't cuss - um, `Blank off!' ... I know him and he's a nice guy. It didn't matter who it was. It could have been Jesus. I didn't care," the 42-year-old rocker-actress said.
Love said Gibson, accompanied by addiction counselor Warren Boyd, left with the men "to have a cheeseburger" while Boyd talked to her about seeking treatment.
It wasn't clear when Gibson had intervened. The Associated Press sent e-mails Wednesday to Alan Nierob, publicist for both Love and Gibson, asking for details.
Gibson sought treatment for alcoholism following his drunken-driving arrest and his rant at a police officer in late July. The 50-year-old actor-director starred in the "Lethal Weapons" movies and directed 2004's "The Passion of the Christ."
In September 2005, Love was sentenced to 180 days at a drug treatment facility for violating probation in three criminal cases. In February, she had pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge and was sentenced to three years' probation. She was already on probation in two unrelated drug cases.
Love has written a memoir, "Dirty Blonde: The Diaries of Courtney Love," and says she is practicing Buddhism.
She also said her 14-year-old daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, is "fantastic" and doing well in school. "She didn't see me on drugs very often - once or twice, maximum," she told Sawyer.
Love has appeared in films such as "Man on the Moon" and "The People vs. Larry Flynt."

She remained clothes free in her final scene in the 1996 film ‘The People vs. Larry Flynt,' where she played Althea Leasure, wife of the Hustler publishing giant, played by Woody Harrelson. The cover of ‘Dirty Blonde' also offers a nude version of the singer, taken from the back by her late husband Kurt Cobain. Prior to becoming famous she worked as a stripper on Los Angeles' Sunset Boulevard. The cover however is set to be a coup for the cult magazine, sources say Love has been offered substantial sums to strip for adult, men's magazines, but always declined. Previous highlights for the Pop publication include their fall issue of 2005, which included a major interview with model Kate Moss, following her summer cocaine scandal.

YT clips piss me off anyway, since you have to constantly stream. I'd rather just sendspace the mp3 so people can actually save it & listen to it whenever they want. ;)

And using a special converter program, you can convert the YouTube video files to MPEG or AVI ones. www.videodownloader.net is where you can get that. |
