There's only 4 weeks til the Japanese release, so the album should leak in a couple weeks I guess.

But as holiday recipients start to redeem online gift certificates, the early winner is an album that won't be out for another month: Norah Jones' "Not Too Late." On Wednesday morning the pianist-singer's Jan. 30 release was at No. 2 on Amazon.com and No. 5 on iTunes and was prominently featured on the Walmart.com site. www.variety.com/article/VR1117956339.html?categoryid=16&cs=1

Yes, it's called "My Blueberry Nights" and it's co-written and directed by Wong Kar Wai (2046).

I'm not really a fan of Norah, but this morning I saw her video on VH1 and got all excited that she had something new out. Anyone care to explain this to me? lol I thought it was a pretty cool video and she always has something different to offer from the 'normal stuff' visual wise, which is always welcomed in my book.

from EMI
EMI's Norah Jones is no.1 on US and UK album charts; 'Come Away With Me' sales now exceed 9 million
LONDON, 5 MARCH 2003 -- EMI is pleased to announce that Norah Jones’s debut album ‘Come Away With Me’ has today returned to the top of the American charts for the second time this year, following a record-breaking week of sales in the US.
Winner of eight Grammy Awards in New York 10 days ago, Norah Jones’s album has enjoyed the biggest post-Grammy sales spike on record. According to reports today from US chart company Soundscan, ‘Come Away With Me’ sold 621,030 units over the counter in the week following the awards (week ended 2 March 2003), after a marathon 53 weeks on the charts.
In the UK, where Ms Jones last month won a Brit Award for Best International Newcomer, ‘Come Away With Me’ made number one on the album charts for the first time on Sunday.
Global shipments of Ms Jones’s album are now well past the 9 million mark, making the 23-year old singer-songwriter from New York one of the world’s best-selling artists of 2002-2003.

Norah's German site is having a contest for tickets to see her live in US next year. And this site says Norah will do 2 shows in Paris in June and perform at festivals in the summer. So maybe there'll be more news of tour/dates soon.

Mellencamp, Jones albums among early '07 releases NEW YORK (Billboard) - Billboard presents a look at the music you'll be hearing a lot about in the first quarter: NORAH JONES "Not Too Late" (Blue Note, January 30) Norah Jones kept a low profile in 2006, recording a collaborative album with New York-based musician friends as the Little Willies and guesting on the self-titled Ipecac album from Mike Patton's Peeping Tom project. But January 30 sees her back in the public eye with her third album, "Not Too Late," comprising songs all written or co-written by the artist. Production was handled by Jones' songwriting partner/bassist Lee Alexander; indie singer/songwriter M. Ward, Kronos Quartet cellist Jeff Ziegler and organist Larry Goldings make guest appearances. First single "Thinking About You" typifies an album full of jazz- and soul-shaded arrangements, old-school organ and horns and Jones' honeyed vocals. --- Sounds of '07 CDs From Avril to Wilco, Lucinda to Linkin Park, here are the top 25 albums worth watching for this year. By Ricardo Baca Denver Post Pop Music Critic Norah Jones, "Not Too Late": You can't deny Jones' coy voice and masterful pop sensibilities. Jan. 30. test.denverpost.com/entertainment/ci_4932110--- Record year ahead By JIM FARBER New York Daily News Norah Jones: “Not Too Late,” the third CD from the burgundy-voiced star, arrives Jan. 30. www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/entertainment/16353605.htm

HDD has an interesting interview with Norah about the album: Not Too Late for the SkyI'm intrigued by some of what she says, particularly the reference to a Brecht-Weill feel of two of the songs. I'm also interested (in light of the conversations in other threads about album sales vs. individual song downloads) to hear her talking about an overall theme to the album. I'm looking forward to hearing this album. ETA: I'm only one minute slower than dudley. That's pretty good!
