A step up from The Beekeeper, by a mile :) If you want to save $3 buy this one. It doesn't have the two videos, but its perfect if you just want the album anyways without the videos Anyways the best songs on this album would have to be 'Bouncing Off Clouds' and 'Dark Side Of The Sun'.

It's gonna take me awhile to get into this CD since there are so many tracks but I'm liking the first few songs so far. I'm wondering if I should just listen to the CD front to back or take it in groups of 4 or 5 songs until I get to know them more and then move on, lol.

Billboard:
Tori Amos achieves her sixth top 10 album on The Billboard 200 as "American Doll Posse" bows at No. 5 with 54,000 units. During release week she played "The Late Show With David Letterman" (May 3) and "Live With Regis & Kelly" (May 4). The new album was available in a limited edition deluxe version for $22.98 containing a bonus track, a DVD with behind-the-scenes footage, five postcards and a 36 page booklet ... Amos' chart history dates back to 1992 when "Little Earthquakes" debuted and would eventually peak at No. 52. Her last studio effort, 2005's "The Beekeeper," buzzed in at No. 5 with 83,000.

I'm gonna get it this week. How is it? Is it "edgier" than say Scarlet's Walk?

I only have Tori's The Choirgirl Hotel (which I started getting into just recently and am loving) and Tales of A Librarian and decided to get this CD.
I'm taking the tracks just a few at a time, and I love the first four so far. It's hard to pick a favorite, but "Bouncing Off Clouds" is just so beautiful- one of the most beautiful songs I've heard this year. It's more accessible than I thought it would be.
This CD deserves to sell better than it has, but I'm glad it made the top ten at least.

I wonder if there will even be a next single? 'Bouncing Off Clouds' was released in the UK. I think it could be this CD's 'Taxi Ride', which means nothing since that song wasn't a hit but it was Tori's only #1 single for me.
I still haven't given this album much time though. I know I like the first few tracks but I think the album itself is a bit long. I don't usually have the interest to listen to it but I want to because I know I could potentially like it more than 'The Beekeeper'.

This album is MUCH much better than The Beekeeper. Sorry to join the discussion now but I just discovered this thread. The tour was amazing and there was supposed to be a video contest for Bouncing off Clouds in mid-January, but I haven't heard what came of it. I'd love to see a second promotional leg for it. They play Bouncing on college radio here all the time, it made their Top 100 of the year at # 7 (!!!) and everyone who hears it loves it. I just put up a video cover of that one today. Plus there's a DVD coming eventually from the Posse tour. She really got her groove back on after Beekeeper. This album was so perfect in so many ways! -BPK www.youtube.com/user/wbarreguy (Tori covers)

I did find the Beekeeper to be rather long, slow and dull and the ADP was a big improvement over the Beekeeper.
The tour was fantastic and worked well with the ADP concept. The tour concept really worked much better than the actual album itself. I loved the fact that you really did not know which character from the ADP Tori was going to come out as. All of the stage characters were interesting in their own way, but Pip was my favorite live. Tori really played the intense and crazy character really well and the band stepped it up and delivered a great rock performance foil for Pip.

Digital Ghost is her current MT40 single. ;) Which means nothing since MT40 is one of my personal charts.

Banet, you're totally right. She was pretty clearly depressed and uninspired during 2005 with the death in her family, record industry pressure, husband issues, etc. Somehow she really got herself re-integrated in the time since then and this album was so wonderful. I really wish they had done more to promote it. All they'd need was one beautiful video for Bouncing off Clouds and she'd be a knock-out underground success. Everyone who hears that song falls in love with it and rightfully so. If only more people would hear it! It appeals to fans of every genre she can touch--pop, AC, alternative, rock, 70's.
Digital Ghost is also a good track. This album is very backloaded. The best songs are near the end: Body & Soul, Code Red, Beauty of Speed, Dragon, and Almost Rosey.

I think the lead single was a mistake. What's her label?

^^Epic/Sony
Yeah Bouncing Off Clouds definitely should have been the lead off single everywhere.. AND should have had a REAL video, and been sent to remixers. It could have been WAY bigger than it was. Oh well!

hmmm i thought teenage hustling should have been single number one - just a really thumping fierce track- could have had a v interesting video - that was the biggest dissapointment for me this era - terrible videos, if u could even call them that.
