YYYs, Flaming Lips, Walkmen Rock Spiderman 3Who's excited for Spiderman 3? Me! Especially now that the soundtrack has been announced. No more emo Spiderman for this one (though I gotta say, that Dashboard song from Spidey 2 is pretty hot)-- Peter Parker's gone full-on hipster. Due out on CD AND LP May 1 via Record Collection, Spiderman 3: The Official Soundtrack features all completely brand new songs from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Flaming Lips, Record Collection's own Walkmen, the Killers, Black Mountain, Wolfmother, Rogue Wave, Jason Schwartzman (aka Coconut Records), and more. The Flaming Lips song is called "Spiderman vs. Muhammad Ali"!!! It HAS to rule. It just has to. The soundtrack was produced by Dave Sardy (Walkmen, LCD Soundsystem, Oasis, Wolfmother). So far, the only song that's available is the Snow Patrol one, which can be streamed below. "Vidicated" is so much better. Dunst-on-Maguire hotness: 01 Snow Patrol: Signal Fire 02 The Killers: Move Away 03 Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Sealings 04 Wolfmother: Pleased to Meet You 05 The Walkmen: Red River 06 Black Mountain: Stay Free 07 The Flaming Lips: Spiderman vs. Muhammad Ali 08 Simon Dawes: Scared of Myself 09 Chubby Checker: The Twist 10 Rogue Wave: Sight Lines 11 Coconut Records: Summer Day 12 Jet: Falling Star 13 Sounds Under Radio: Portrait of a Summer Thief 14 Wasted Youth Orchestra: A Letter to St. Jude 15 The Oohlas: Small Parts

I bought the first and the second one.
I will NOT be getting this one. Looks very flopish.
Killers are the only good thing.
Snow Patrol is OK

I don't have either of the previous two soundtracks, and I doubt I'll get even this one (too much already coming out in May), although I'm interested in hearing some of these tracks. The YYY song was on a DVD of theirs from like two years ago. Here it is: Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Sealings"

Today on Radio 1 debuted Snow Patrol's Signal Fire and I have to say I LOVE IT!! I sure wished though they had more hit songs off their CD. before the soundtrack single.

An interesting track listing but I doubt I'd be interested in getting it. Not enough core artists for me.

Superhero movie soundtracks have always been bad, and this one doesn't look like it will change that trend. Having more indie artists doesn't make it anymore interesting for me.

I hate when Pitchfork writers use the first person p.o.v. Anyway, the soundtrack is cool. "Sealings" is an old, but unreleased YYYs song. I made a thread for it in the Non-Singles section last week.

What an awful song list. For a film featuring such a dark character as Venom, I was hoping for something heavier.

Wow, the 2nd soundtrack with Train, Dashboard, Jet, Maroon5, Hoobastank etc was so great, this looks weak.

And the thought of Wolfmother "Pleased To Meet You" playing in the movie or in the credits alone is enough to make me ill. :'(

I bought this for $14.99 at a generic Wal-mart, because I had $20 to waste and no other CD's interested me. Plus I'm obsessed with "Signal Fire".

Did this perform better or worse than the first two OSTs? It seems that there were more buzz from the first two...
