Snow is already great in Europe Airplay but is penalized by the fact that now is full of new releases for xmas time. In USA is good too in Modern rock radio, is already #16.

Yes, *their* album counts twice. But, WBR didn't certify it as so.

Again and again and again... It is not the responsibility of the RIAA (or Billboard) to certify or re-certify an album. It is the record company. The record company has to contact the RIAA and ask for a possible certification. An audit is done, the record company pays for the audit (and the certification) and then the RIAA certifies the album/single/video. Blame WBR, not the RIAA.

Actually they have sold close to 7 million ww. yep, a great result..they do better than last album By the way..it sold around 8,5/9m but was 2002 not 2006..the illegal dowload wasn't so great..and S.A. is out only from 10 month..i think it could reach 8,5/9m in 2008.. areyoureadytojump, yes i do a mistakes.. why warner bros don't spend more money for chili peppers?no pays for certification..no money for great video (tell me baby..Snow..desecration smile all almost homemade videos..). will be a broke between rhcp and WB??i don't think..they are one (the?) of WB band with highest selling data..

Certified 2xp by The RIAA.
Why does Warner Bros. keep f*cking up this album? It is a 2-cd album so it should be 4xp.

Hopefully they'll get around to releasing "Desecration Smile" as a U.S. single, and like someone said in the Rock forum, I hope it'd be more than a throwaway like "Dosed" was.
"Charlie" is pretty good, I prefer it to "Hump De Bump".

Dang, that's impressive....2 million records sold for a veteran musical group such as the Chili Peppers. That's good.

The USA Today Music Blog clears up why this album is only certified 2xp. blogs.usatoday.com/listenup/sales/index.htmlBut I was wondering, then, why the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Stadium Arcadium, also a double album with an even higher list price, was certified for only double platinum (2 million) when it had sold nearly 2 million and seemingly, by the DMB logic, could apply for a quadruple platinum award. Very mysterious, I thought to myself (and to the vast legions of readers perusing the item). Light has been shed on this mystery, thanks to a kind spokesperson from the Chilis' management team. She says, and I paraphrase, that it's an artist or label option. The RIAA allows you to count a double album as two albums or one; the only stipulation it makes is that once you make a decision on the matter, you have to stick with it. In the Chilis' case, the band chose to count Stadium Arcadium as one because, among other reasons, if it had been counted as two, writers would be able to say, snarkily, that it was certified for X but really only was Y because sales count double. The spokesperson concludes, probably rightly, "I have a feeling that many artists, record companies, etc., do not even know they have a choice in the matter." Very interesting.

Wow, I never knew that. So labels and artists CHOOSE if they want their double album to be certified double? Hmm, interesting. I would've just certified it double though. What the hell.
