I am wondering... could SYBG being released damage Breakaway's success? I know it's already a big hit... but it could just keep going and going, and be tremendous for Kelly. And could possibly Breakaway hamper SYBG's spins? Breakaway has already hit #1 on Pop, and it's not likely to return to that position. Even so, SYBG is an uptempo, so it's possible that stations will play both songs.

I LOVE IT!! It's a surefire no. 1. Kelly sounds very different. I don't know how she does it. She has so many different aspects to her voice. Can't wait to hear the whole song.

I LOVE THIS SONG! It's amazing. I know it sounds like an avril song but it's kelly's voice that makes it better. Her voice is incredible

I had to listen to the clip 6 or 7 times but it's grown on me. I like it a good bit now. I'm sure once I hear the full song, I'll like it more.
I have a feeling it's just like the first cd with me. I never have really liked Miss Independent but I loved just about every other track on Thankful. I'm thinking it'll be the same with this cd.
Plus, now that I think about it, I hardly ever like first singles on cds from artists and bands I really like. The songs that has the most "mass appeal" always get chosen first, and I normally don't like those.

I think there's no mistaking the Avril sound but I can tell it's Kelly and not Avril singing. I like Avril but Kelly has a more well-rounded voice, imo. Anyway, I think this is gonna be a smash.

Absolutely an Avril sound. That's too bad. She had her own thing going there before. I liked that.

I really like Kelly, but I'm not feeling that clip. Normally Kelly's songs show that she has an amazing voice, but in that clip I could hardly recognize her voice. Maybe the whole song will sound better.

LOL. That was my same reaction. The problem is that not only does it sound like an Avril song, but the voice sounds as processed as Avril, when usually Kelly's voice kicks Avril's ten times over. And from the MTV story it sounds like the video is also similar to Avril's last one. Why does RCA want 2 Avrils? >:(

Just heard the full song on NYC's Z100...the inclusion of the verses improves the song, in my book. I'm still kind of disappointed, though. It does sound like a reject from Avril's first album, but without as strong a hook.
My favorite aspect of Kelly's voice and music is its soulfulness, and this song is devoid of that. It skews towards a very teen audience, I think, which could work in its favor as far as holiday sales go.
It is radio-friendly. But it doesn't strike me as a #1. It should go top-10 on Pop with enough label support. It has too similar a beat/sound to Ashlee Simpson's "La La" (though it remains to be seen how that song does post-SNL). It sounds like something Hilary Duff might sing. For that matter, it has a similar sound to Diana DeGarmo's "Then I Woke Up," though the lyrical content of the 3 songs is obviously different. And that gets to why it's a disappointment to me...it's generic pop-rock, rather than distinctively Kelly. Kelly usually infuses the lyrics with such feeling, and I'm not getting that here, not least because the lyrics are kind of lame.
Still, it's a fun song, and should do very well. I'll say it peaks at #7 on CHR/Pop.

She went from her best song to date to her worst song to date.
I predict #14.

I just heard it on z100 as well. I'm not that impressed. It is generic pop-rock like someone said. But it could grow. I can see it going Top 10 however.

Wow... definately catchy... On first listen, I wasn't so impressed... but I've played it a few more times... and this thing is pretty hot. I'll say Top 5.

It's like all Kelly day on Z100. Every 40 minutes is either Breakaway or Since U Been Gone. Judging from DJ reaction and my liking of the song, I'll still predict #1. And I like it more every time I hear it.

It may be faux-Avril, but it's really catchy. Kelly should be doing Pink'ish, soulful rock. By the way, this is Bloodshy and Avant? So versatile.
