Obviously a ballad. Hope it doesn't sound to much like "Breakaway".

Actually I heard its really upbeat pop rock. It's funny how when people say, "It's probably...," they're usually wrong. I don't expect a ballad from her.

Something bitchy please... Kelly Clarkson and bitchy? What planet can that be found on? Definitely not on this one, my friend.
Well... maybe if she scored another unfinished Christina track from the "Stripped Era" or maybe right after Britney stole all of my VMA buzz era...

It's an upbeat pop/rock track. That's straight from her friends mouth. Thanks for the add date!

I gather, since it's produced by urban dudes. Breakaway has REALLY grown on me. I think it's one of this year's better pop tracks, actually.

No, the article on the song said it was a pop-rock track produced by Bloodshy & Avant. All three songs they've done are pop songs.

Wow...I want to hear this. I take it it's the lead single from her new CD?

Wow...I want to hear this. I take it it's the lead single from her new CD? Yup, it's the lead single. But 19/RCA is releasing it only 2 weeks before her album drops, so they are probably using Breakaway as the main source of radio promotion.

I can't wait to hear this. I bet I'll like it. Hopefully it's not too "Miss Independent."

Nope, that's just what 19 does. They're lucky that "Breakaway" is already out and a #1 hit (however shortlived, LOL); but they did the same thing with "Miss Independent" when she hadn't had anything out since the previous fall.

If the description is something to go by, I'd say this song will be a cover of this one. And if it is, she is going to screw up her career BIG time.

The song is not a cover.. I don't see how she could screw up her career big time right now, everyone that worked on the album or heard the new single are raving about it.

I don't know why the people here are so quick to assume covers.

I don't know why the people here are so quick to assume covers. It kind of confuses me. Wouldnt it be mentioned by now? And how many artists release first singles of their new albums as a single?
