Two obvious one hit wonder Hot AC songs that broke through to pop radio and became huge hits. Which one is better?
My vote goes to Sara Bereilles. I can't stand 'Bubbly' everytime i heard it it would put me to sleep. I don't understand how pop radio even played that one.

Sara B-A-reilles. Bubbly gets on my last nerve now, Love Song is still as fresh to me as it was back in July.

Love Song! It's a bit overplayed as of late but I still love it. Bubbly got old fast.

"Realize" cracked the top 40 at pop on 2/15/08, so Colbie can't be called a "one hit wonder" anymore. Glad that title was VERY short-lived! Sara probably won't be one for long either.
"Love Song" is good for what it is, but I just don't feel it the way I did with "Bubbly"... it's harder, edgier and much more produced than Colbie's song.

Both are good in smaller doses. Why did it take so long for Love Song to catch on whereas Colbie seemed to have an easier time?
Also, I think Colbie could easily turn out to be a one-hit-wonder but Sarah has alot more potential.

Depends on your definition of one-hit-wonder, which there is a topic about in the Opinions forum. It's from a few weeks back. Basically, it's worthless to argue over it if you both have different opinions on what a one-hit-wonder is.

I went with Sara's song because it's not as annoying.

Bubbly sounds sweeter and easier to listen to. Love Song sounds harsh by comparison with that sharp paino in the beginning. I would rather listen to Bubbly as it is softer and the lyrics are cute and sweet. I don't feel moved by the lyrics of Love Song and quite honestly it just sounds to loud and nothing is really all that appealing to me about it.

I don't really understand how Sara can be labeled as a one-hit wonder when she hasn't even released a second single. I also disagree with your claim that Colbie has two hits under her belt, but I can see how that can be argued at least. I went with "Bubbly", but I'm liking "Love Song" a lot right now and my vote could very well be different a month down the road.

Sara hasn't even released a 2nd single yet!!! Colbie's released 2 singles, both have gone to the top 40 at CHR (though with a 38 spot difference to this point). It's like the starter of the thread just assumed that because we have two sorta "out of left field" hits here make it big at CHR/Pop that they're both destined to be just 1-hit wonders. I'm of the opinion that you can't just be a 1-hit wonder until a certain length of time without having a hit has been reached... When I think one-hit wonder, I think Toni Basil, Dexy's Midnight Runners, the Cardigans, Jennifer Paige (unfortunately) and many many others... I think for someone to be called a "one hit wonder" you really have to give them at least five years after their initial hit to rightfully give them that designation.

You are right, i was wrong by calling both of these females one hit wonders as they both have a chance to not be. I did sort of go by assumption (it was an opinion of mine) so maybe i shouldn't have presented as a fact. Nonetheless, Colbie 2nd single can make it as far as #20 on the pop charts in my opinion and never have another top 40 hit again and then in 5 years she could be called a one hit wonder. Merideth Brooks anyone? Bitch-#1 What would happen-#12 Stop-#36 She is often referred to as a one hit wonder even though her 2nd single got as far up as #12!
