I'm so glad the chart is getting So exciting again! Look at all these songs with amazing bullets!

Wow i' m so excited for Top 40 this spring! Things are looking huge! It's obvious Chris Brown will be the next #1 but what will happen after that? Will Rihanna get a chance to sneak in a week or two? Or will 'Love Song' take it from there? And what about 'Sorry', 'No Air,' and the new Jonas Brothers song which is becoming a runaway pop hit! These all have potential to be #1! Mariah Carey is just hype right now she will most likely fizzle out. Usher is doing really well i think he has potential to go top ten!
What's gonna happen? Make your predictions! Here's what i say:
Chris Brown-'With You'-#1 (3 or 4 weeks) Rihanna 'Don't Stop the Music'-#2 (Rihanna always ends up not getting to #1) Sara Barellies 'Love Song'-#1 (5 weeks) Buckcherry 'Sorry'-#2 Jordin Sparks 'No Air'-#3 Jonas Brothers-#1 (Just watch, i know you might think i'm going a little too far with this, but this group has the potential to bring 'teen pop' back onto the market. Teen pop is already here with Miley Cyrus, High School Musical, etc. But it hasn't really crossed over onto pop radio yet. This will be the band to do it. It's Backstreet Boys all over again) Mariah-will miss the top ten Usher-Idk.

I think that is a great achievement for her and her type of music.

After they breakthrough the top ten, it's gonna be 1998/1999 all over again. We will get countless of new teen pop groups/females/males who will follow suite. JB will probably score several hits after his too.

Usher is not going #1 with that song. No air will go top 5, 4 the least. With you will go #1. and Mariah might.

Out of that list, I could see maybe 2 #1s.

I agree Jonas Brothers has potential, the teen market is what its about... it sucks that Miley wont use some original Hannah Montana songs for the radio like "I've Got Nerve" Or "Nobody's Perfect", maybe a little cliche/basic song lyrics, but it gets down the point.. plus a good beat!

I think Three Days Grace has a shot at #1 since it's still rising.

Usher's new song is terrible.

I think the only #1s out of there are With You (lock), DSTM (possible depending on longevity), Love Song & No Air. I can't see Buckcherry, TJB, Usher or Mariah getting to #1. What does everyone think of the possibility that Superstar could go #1?

I sure hope that Rihanna song doesn't go to #1. If not for the fact that she sampled an annoying Michael Jackson song, I'd probably like the song. The Michael Jackson sample just hopelessly taints it.

The Michael Jackson sample just hopelessly taints it. It's not particuarly the fact its annoying, it's just really not needed. Like the rap in Umbrella, it brings nothing to the song but doesn't do it any harm either.

LOL at Jonas Brothers.... that song will miss the top 10. Mariah will go top 5. No Air will hit #1. Bleeding Love has a chance at #1

Aside from Chris Brown's "With You", out of that group, I can only see "No Air" achieving a #1. I also agree with "Bleeding Love" have a good chance at hitting the top. All else will at least go Top 10 with the exception of Usher's new one.

Low will reign supreme for 2-3 more weeks.
With You (#1 for 5 weeks) No Air (#1 for 8 weeks) Elevator (#1 for 2+ weeks)
Don't Stop The Music and Love Song will peak at #2. While Love Song will have decent longevity, Don't Stop The Music will plummet shortly.

Chris Brown, then Rihanna, then Jordin Sparks. Sarah Bareilles and Buckcherry are up in the air for me. They are both songs that won't chart well on certain Pop playlists in the country, not to mention they are first-time artists on the Pop chart without a very Pop sound in their songs that are charting. Usher, Mariah, and Jonas Brothers have decent songs with decent bullets for now. I see Elevator doing well but not Top 10.
And the Michael Jackson sample in DSTM is the catchiest part of that song, imo. Its the part I usually hear everyone singing along too, on the radio and in the club. I say its boosting the popularity of the track, if anything. Its genius to throw stuff like that into a club song.

They are both songs that won't chart well on certain Pop playlists in the country You never know though IMO...Low is charting terribly on about 1/3 of the pop playlists, and it's still #1 by far (never would've predicted that) IMO these are some of the weakest #1's I've seen in a long time (prob. just personal taste), but I can't see CHR two years from now playin With You, Don't Stop The Music, Sorry, or No Air in any kinda recurrent rotation...and I get the feeling Low will almost become a novelty hit that CHRs will play on Fri/Sat night shows Haven't heard the new Mariah yet so not sure about that one...I'd almost say Never Too Late by Three Days Grace might hit the Top 5 and have such longevity that it might become bigger than all these other songs that are rocketing up to #1 IMO to fill a "vacuum"...looks like Love Song might become a pretty strong recurrent hit though (still not sure why lol) but glad people like it When You Look Me In The Eyes reminds me of "How Do You Talk To An Angel" from '93...thinkin it's gonna stall around #10 cause it seems like a song that's been done before I kinda think the reason there are so many potential #1s is cause the potential #1s are so weak right now, few of them will have any kind of longevity IMO

I hate how you called out TOUCH MY BODY. Do NOT doubt the lambs. Plus, nearly everyone that hated it is taking what they said back, i.e. Perez, so MARK MY WORDS it WILL hit the Top Ten.

I think a lot of us Mariah fans (myself included) would be thrilled just if the song made the top ten since there's so many thinking it'll pull a "Never Again" or "Deja Vu." However, I think the song is worthy of a number one spot.
I'm liking more of what I'm hearing on Top 40. "See You Again" and "Don't Stop the Music" are just pure ear candy, so it's nice to see those types of songs doing well.

Rooting for #1s: - DSTM for a month (unrealistic, but I hope it at least goes there for 1-2 weeks) - With You (blah! It may stay for a month; but I wish only a couple of weeks) - Love Song: expecting 3 weeks - No Air: expecting 5 weeks
Hoping don't make it: - Sorry. Horrible attempt of revival of bland 80s rock ballad - When You Look Me In The Eyes. What a pale comparison to the harmonious and catchy BSB ballads. Teen ballad reminding of bad early 90s. - Touch My Body. Not bad, but not good enough for a Pop#1 from an artist that should be more on the lead instead of a musical follower. - Love In The Club. I just heard it. Not too excited about that either.
AND: - I'd rather bet for Superstar as the next Rap/HipHop song to top the chart. That mix of chorus/rap reminds me of Eminem's Stan, with the difference that the chorus for this song is original. Cool mix :)

Oh lol how can we forget about Leona Lewis? LOL maybe that's because i DIDN'T. I know clive and company have already scheduled their emergency meetings. The song only has a +300 bullet but don't EVER doubt clive people. 'Bleeding Love' will be around and probably won't peak til' June. Clive is gonna take this to the top, just watch. He's gonna payola this one step at at time using the 'Since U Been Gone' guide book.

Bleeding Love is a good enough track to deserve a #1 spot, too :) Not sure what happened to SUBG, but if it took $ome aide$ to explode, that's fine for such a good song. But I don't think its longevity had to do with other rea$on$ besides quality...

Or maybe they have a different opinion. Actually, in re-reading that post, it's obvious to me now that they were talking about Mariah's "Touch My Body" as being the snoozefest that would need payola to get to #1. My bad.

He's gonna payola this one step at at time using the 'Since U Been Gone' guide book. You cannot be serious? SUBG was a GREAT song and it's still getting A TON of recurrent airplay. Was there anyone here that DIDN'T like that song? That song is a masterpiece, without question. "Ain't No Other Man"... now there's a song that was payola-ed to the top 10, no doubt. Kelly's songs all legitimately made it up to the upper rungs of the chart.
