Darius’ country album, Learn To Live, will feature guest appearances by Opry members Vince Gill, Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss. Oh cool. The Vince and Alison tracks are bound to be killer, I think he'll blend really well with both (assuming they're ballads...).

I heard a song the other day around the office from his record. It was written by Brad Paisley and Darius....Brad plays guitar on it. Not sure what the title was, but it was very good and very country. The hook is..."All I want you to leave me is alone."

"If I had Wings" is the track that has both Alison and Vince on it. "All I Want" should be the track that features Brad Paisley on guitar. I've heard 6 of the songs and it has even surprised me. If Darius doesn't go #1 with "don't think i don't think about it" he most certainly will with his song called "It Won't Be Like This For Long". He performed it at the Opry last week and it was unbelievable. The crowd ate it up.

Sounds like it will be a good CD. I used to love Hootie and bought most of their CDs back in the day. I like the new song, so I will have to seriously consider buying this.

That clip of him debuting at the Opry is great. Agreed. That was so great. I loved hearing him sing Josh Turner's Me & God. I really hope this album isn't a one-time thing. I know he'll be recording more music with Blowfish but I hope he becomes a mainstay on country radio.

He definately wants to continue to do country albums, which is great news!

I'd personally like to see a fullblown Hootie country album. And I don't think it's out of the cards at all.

Darius sang backup on Radney's version of "Raining on Sunday" back on 1998's See What You Want to See too.

Right now my projections have Darius about 400k ahead of both Toby Keith and the Lost Trailers. I'll give Darius an 80% chance to move up to #10 next week.

You can listen to five songs from Darius' album here. This is my most anticipated album for the rest of the year besides Kenny's new one.

I am not going to listen to the clips though and just buy the album the day it is released. I loved Hootie and the Blowfish so I am sure that I will love this one too. It might not happen but I would love to see this song make #1 between Brad and Kenny.

This cd is great.
Hard to pick a favorite but I really like If I Had Wings. He has good vibrato so it sounds great when he holds out notes.
Alright is a cool song. Probably going to be a release.
I like Wary Of A Woman as well.
The only song I don't like upon initial listen is I Hope They Get To Me In Time. It's just a little too over-the-top lyrically.

When I heard Don't Think I Don't Think About It on the radio for the first time the voice sounded so familiar. I found out why when I googled it to see who was singing it. I love the tone of Darius's voice!

I can't wait to see how well Darius' follow up single to this does. He's got the perfect country voice and it would be a shame for him to not have a LONG career on the country charts. Keeping my fingers crossed for the next single to go top 10 as well.

Has any other black singer in any genre ever hit #1 with their debut single? Just wondering.

i am sure one has in Urban/R&B/Rap or one of those genres. is Leona Lewis 100% black? if so, she fits the bill.
