Well, "Say Somethin'" was the freshest track off of Mimi- so, makes sense radio wouldn't give it the love the other singles got, since it was different for Mimi. "Fly Likea Bird" did very well at Urban AC, but mainstream urban didn't eat it up (it went for official play at that format, too). And "That Chick" is a highlight on Mimi's new album- so, Reid's ear is good, but just maybe not for hat radio wants (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, depending on one's goals).

Well, although I enjoy "Say Somethin" and "I'm That Chick", they're not great choices for singles. So, he may have a great ear for good music, but we're trying to get hits to sell albums.

Record comapnies aren't making music so they can be critically acclaimed. They are trying to sell records. This is Janet Jackson. Janet needs someone who's got a clue to help her out....

The industry is about producing hit records and selling products. If you make spectacular & innovative music on the way, great! However, quality doesn't always mean its going to be popular.

I think "Luv" should have been pushed at Pop Radio & THEN "Can't Be Good." I absolutely adore both songs, but given the long wait for a second single & the fact that radio isn't really giving her a chance, I don't think "Can't Be Good" should be released now.

I honestly don't know what to make of this. While "Can't B Good" is a great song, its one those songs that you would release in the autumn/fall or winter, NOT bang on at the beginning of summer! It's too slow and people wanna groove to more uptempo/happy tracks during that time of year. "LUV" should be the next track that gets a multi-format release, what is IDJ thinking? This album era is going down like it did with Whitney Houston's Just Whitney, Toni Braxton's More Than A Woman and TLC's 3D which were all under LA Reid's watch (and which is what I believe lead to his being ousted from Arista) and all underperformed due to bad single releases (TLC, though, I'll give a pass to). I hope I'm wrong on this, but I have a feeling I won't be. I still love Janet and will still show my support but I'm very disappointed in this being the next single at this time.

Whoever is making decisions with the Discipline era hasn't been doing the best job. The singles should be pushed at ALL formats, doesn't make sense to keep separating them. RWU didn't do so well, but to keep idle when Janet's singles are only doing well on Urban AC isn't smart.
In a positive light, this song can be a success. It depends on Janet, IDJ, radio and music listeners. :)

I think "Can't B Good" is what can be said about Janet trying to get a chr/pop hit.

In the words of Homer Simpson: DOA! Not true. If people have a negative attitude towards the song, of course it'll be DOA. Why not support it and see what happens?

Man o man..i have tried not to say sh** but these people here are really making no sense..POP radio wont play Janet's music so why should she cater to those mofos.."CBG" is classic janet only her tru fans would understand the single choice..URBAN will love "CBG" but I feel it should be released in the fall/winter IDJ cant be serious they need to save it for fall. This summer they should go with,"LUV" or "Rollercoaster" or even "2Nite" are they losing it?People wanna dance and have fun during the summer if they release "CBG" now they will ruin it's chances of being a big urban hit in the fall. C'mon they need to clean this up asap. A new single needs to be released in May not June..

The title is Can't B Good. And i know that this song "can't b good" enough for Janet. That's it.

Maybe they are planning a re-promotion with the late adds date. But i don't really care anymore. I rarely listen to the radio anymore and Discipline is an amazing album. As long as she keeps delivering great music, that's all that matters to me.

OMG.. The whole "Discipline" is such a mess. The thought of another flop makes me want to crawl under a rock and hide, LOL.

I really feel bad for Janet. I thought feedback was ok but not good enough to bring herself back on the radios

I agree as a fan, but she's been playing in the mainstream field for too long not to know what she has to do to stay relevant, especially after three flop albums. This release really looks like the final nail in the coffin, sadly.

I personally think Rollercoaster or Never Letchugo would be better bets.

I personally think Rollercoaster or Never Letchugo would be better bets. I'd go with So Much Better.... any hip-hop dancer would respond to that

"So Much Betta" is a mess.
They need to go with "LUV". It's the only song on the album worth listening to. Pop/R&B crossover is where Janet shines. Especially those bubbly happy songs. "LUV" is perfection. If it ain't that, hang it up, and just tour.

I personally think Rollercoaster or Never Letchugo would be better bets. NLG is the best ballad on the album. The words make the song for me. They sound so honest.

Too bad the vocals are horrendous and offkey. I know SIR agrees with you but I disagree on the off key part. I actually know how to sing and sound good at it at the same time.

YOu know what NLG reminds me of....it reminds me of that song by Natalie called "Going Crazy". It's an ugly ballad that I just can't get enough of. I can relate to it more than any song on Discipline.

It reminds me of a bad episode of 90210 w/ those cheesy + outdated guitar riffs. I can picture Brenda crying on her bed as Dillon rides away on his motorcycle.

When I first heard it I was like this song sounds weird. It just drew me in from there. Eventually, when I realized what was being said I loved the song more and more. Now it's my favorite ballad on Discipline. The first verse is to die for.... I can relate to that soo much that its sickening. The funny thing about the love we choose, It ain't perfect, but we do, the best we can, do you understand? And I love you more than words can say Here's to knowing that you'll stay with me through the complications baby what I'm sayin' I don't want to give up on my fate. I don't want to think that it's too late.....
