NLG has great lyrics, but let's get back on topic. There's a lot of good things about this song too, why not discuss that?
The harmonies are beautiful and I love her voice. The Michael vibe is there, but it's all Janet.

Actually this is my fav ballad from the album b/c i think "Never Letchu Go" and "Greatest X" sound very similar. (Although the title track is my own guilty pleasure song)

There's a certain flow and synchronization between Never Letchu Go and Greatest X. The songs are different, but their placement on the CD is perfect. Discipline is good and dirty Janet, but Can't B Good is the BEST.

if this didnt work at Urban AC why would it work at Pop? You and everyone else are wondering the same thing. The obvious explanation is that the album doesnt have any real potential hits outside of the urban format but I think "2nite" would be a much better shot. The only way I see "Cant be good" working on ANY format is if they throw Ne-Yo on it. Thats an obvious remix waiting to happen....hell they may as well throw in Rihanna, The Dream and Kanye on it too.

If this didn't fare well at Urban AC, why are they releasing it as the next single. Is this really official? I would really like to know WHO IN THE HELL is making decisions on the singles? Perhaps Janet needs to sit in the passenger seat and not drive the vehicle before it crashes!

"2nite" is such a jam. Its the only thing that could do well at pop.

They should scrap all the singles they have floating around at the moment, send "2nite" out as the official single everywhere, shoot an incredible high-fashion video for it (a la "All For You") and try to salvage this era before it's too late. I'm afraid this is a make or break time for Janet and she just can't afford to keep flopping. Sigh.

"2nite" would make a great single for pop. Then do a R.Kellyish remix for urban and make a high fashion (bright) video with some NEW dance moves and we're good to go.

HA! as if that will happen. As much as I love Janet, I don't see this era turning around. I try not to lose hope, but 3 albums in a row over 5 years. idk what to do anymore

I will NEVER forgive them for not releasing "2nite" to pop as the 2nd single.

I will NEVER forgive them for not releasing "2nite" to pop as the 2nd single. Janet became somewhat of an afterthought @ IDJ shortly before TMB leaked.

I still don't know why she didn't promote the hell out of Feedback. The whole "one week of promo" thing blows my mind. It's so rare that you only see an artist the WEEK of their album release, but no time beforehand. It's really what put a damper on the era, because there was no momentum behind the project in the first place.
What's done is done, but I just wish Jan would've been hungry from the start.

Janet seems to be a decade or two behind the times in terms of promotion!

^ That's what happens when your man and your friends treat you like you're royalty. "She's Janet. She ain't gotta do nothin!"
I imagine the relationship with Janet & LA is similar. He gushes over her. He's always been a huge fan, and secretly, has a crush on her.
The working relationships of Mariah/JD/LA are so much different than Janet/JD/LA.

Somebody needs to give this heffa a reality check. :) and Janet needs to stop mixing business with pleasure. I would really like for Janet go to work with JJ and TL, as well as whatever producer is hot for her next record. And she should go back to Minneapolis and record her records and leave JD in Atlanta!

Faking the flu was headline news. She was on every major news website, Entertainment Tonight, Extra, Access Hollywood, CNN, and they all mentioned she had the #1 album.
Brilliant promo! :)

Brilliant promo! :) haha! and we see how far that has gotten her. The lady needs to start ringing dj phones and going to talk shows and ACTUALLY PERFORM :o if she wants to remain in the top 200 until the tour starts!

The album is done, but I'm pleased to hear that a tour might actually materialize this time. A worldwide tour will remind her of who she is, what she's done, and what she still has to offer. She'll reconnect with lost fans (like myself - who didn't buy Discipline), and it'll help place her on a higher platform for the next project.
I'm not convinced until tour dates are officially announced, and tickets are on-sale.

sad thing is there are so many better single choices on the album, it doesnt take a genuis to see that......all my favorite divas Mariah, Janet, Mary J all suffer from the same disease!

I hope she don't call a fan onstage, and bump & grind on 9/11. I can see the reviews now...
