Wow. Weezer @ #2 with a healthy bullet AND no other song competing for that position... at POP. Who would've ever thought?

This song is becoming quite an anthem.

This song is becoming quite an anthem. Yeah it is! IT just came out of nowhere, really. It's just gotten bigger for no real apparent reason, and that's great for Weezer.

How many weeks has it been on the chart? What number did "Buddy Holly" go to?

I'm really ready for this to lose its bullet, if this becomes another "Scars" I'll be mad. It was a summer anthem, but summer is over, and now because of the overplay I can't stand to listen to it anymore, now why does that sound so familiar?? Maybe because it happens with almost every song that makes the top 10!

I pull this thread out of the grave! The reason is because this song always reminded me something else. I couldn't figure out what, until I heard New Kids On The Block - "Hangin' Tough" on the radio tonight. The bass and drum beats of both songs sound so alike! If you are not familiar with the NKOTB song, you can find it on itunes. I am very interested to hear your comments. :) By the way, Beverly Hills is just outside the TOP20 (#21) with a + 314 ... 3rd biggest bullet on the chart! Up to #7 on itunes.

Even though this song is not nearly as old as "You and Me," it sure as heck seems older because to me it seems like it got a lot more overplay than "You and Me" did. I really am surprised this became so huge on Pop, but it peaked about 4 months too late for me.

I relistened to Hangin' Tough. I haven't heard it in years. And, you know, they do have a similar feel to them.

;) Thanks for posting, Gigga. I think it is cool that 2 songs with almost 15 yrs deference can sound so similar. Actually, after listening to HT again earlier, it sounds so fresh ... it could probably chart even today! :)

I can't believe this is still in the top 10 on iTunes at a very respectable #7 after all these months. I'm astonished!
I haven't heard "Hangin' Tough" in a long long time but remembering the song in my head, I think the choruses for both songs do have somewhat a similar beat come to think of it.
