It is VERY VERRY instant...I had the chorus memorized after 1 time hearing it and by the end of the song I knew it all LOL Yea this is extremely catchy, especially that chorus. This is one definite reason I think it is doing more than many thought it would on Pop. That specific chorus.

This is doing well so far, Top 30 already. Steady, I think it could reach Top 10.

In the past, I would have been happy about any Weezer single reaching the Top 30 at pop. But not this hunk of garbage...

I'm a big fan of Weezer, have always been, and I actually think this song is a lot of fun. If this can get Weezer to new audiences, than I'm all for it!

I heard this song on the radio a few days ago and was thinking, it's been a while since a song like this came along and been a big hit. I think it's a good welcome. Not necessarily a song with substance but a fun song that people can sing along with.

By most accounts, this is now their biggest hit ever (although I doubt it'll stand the test of time like "Buddy Holly" has 10 years later).
On a side note, it was #8 on the Top 8 at 8 on WABB tonight. I was rather surprised.

Added at Z100 as of today. Romeo on the Radio (whose real name is actually Tim Hersfeld or something, haha) said after playing it, "That was Weezer on Z100...always breaking new stuff first." I then proceeded to drive my car into a ditch.

How the hell are the "breaking" Weezer's song when its been a hit for the past 6 months?! >:( >:( >:(

Yeah, Kiss 106 added it like 2 months ago (along with the rest of the country, obviously). I remember when they added "He Loves U Not" in December 2000, and then wondering how it made Rick Dees' and AT40's year-end charts if it only came out in December. Guess that's Z100 for ya. I'm still disappointed this has become their biggest overall hit since it's such a mediocre song by their standards. I simply don't get its sustained appeal. I mean, I guess among people who aren't familiar with Weezer, it could leave a lasting impression (which probably explains its success here), but among their fans, I'm not sure I get it.

This song is almost getting to the point of annoying now, I hate it when songs take forever to make the top 20 and just suddenly explode with huge bullets, then you have to wait a few more months until it goes away. I wish stations would just pick up a song right away instead of putting it in low rotation for months and then suddenly sending it to #1 on their playlist (as has happened at a local station) >:(

This song is over. I remember hearing it on alternative radio almost six months ago. I hate when pop takes a good song and kills it. I think this will peak at number 7 then fall like a rock. Now when I hear it, I just turn the channel...I thought it was awesome a few months ago but now it's played out.

Now when I hear it, I just turn the channel...I thought it was awesome a few months ago but now it's played out. Man were we wrong. Two Months later, this song really could be headed to the #2 position. A weak #2, but come on, who would have thought WEEZER would get a #2 peak. You know, I think Weezer may be just starting a career on the CHR\POP format. I doubt if We Are All On Drugs will have any push at this format, but if it did, it would easily go Top 20. However, the big question is, how well will the follow up, This Is Such A Pity, will do on the format. I could easily see this going Top 10, and personally think it is far better than BH. As a matter of fact, I think it could be the most radio-friendly, especially because of the sound it has right now for 2005, ever catered to the Pop Format from Weezer. The song is very well done, very retro sounding (80's that is), and I really hope does well. Either way, congrats to Weezer. Rivers Cuomo, though a complete weirdo, is one of the best songwriters of our time. I just wish POP would have discovered Weezer earlier.

I do the exact same thing, I thought this song was real cool back in May, but now I can't stand it, no wonder why a lot of alternative artists can't get back on the format, what do you expect after Pop radio ruins songs for the fans. Not like I'm a Weezer fan or anything, I just use to like the song, but now it is so freaking annoying.

This song is great but I wish the pop format would've caught on quicker because now I hear this all the time and I am getting sick of it

There's a thing I like to do called changing the station rather than b*tching about a song being played too much. Only in rare instances, such as when you change the station and the new one is playing it also, does it seem appropriate to complain. But maybe that's just me. And since this isn't a #1 100 spin a week kind of song, I guess I just don't see that this is overplayed. Glad to see Weezer get some recognition for once. I've dug every album they've put out.

It would definetly be a suprise if this song made it to # 1. Although, SIO still has PLENTY of fuel to burn on for at least a few more weeks. Although, the rest of the songs in the top 10 (not including BOY), have ost thier bullets, so it (BH) won't have competition for a while.

Green Day and Kelly Clarkson will likely both be Top Four within two weeks, so Weezer's bullet will need to rebound if they have any hope of reaching #1 with BH..

Yeah, I don't think it's going #1. But #2 is still unbelievable.

Maybe I'm delirious, but the beginning and the female voice in the chorus is reminds me of "Hollaback Girl".

It doesn't remind me of Hollaback Girl, but I do hate both songs. ;)

I never would've thought this would make #2, and the chances of it making #1 are like 1%, and if it did, well, then I couldn't really think of a worse #1. It's a decent song, but there are just some songs that don't deserve #1. Keep in mind, this is just my opinion! (Hopefully Weezer fans aren't as crabby as Mariah fans) ;)
