Listen to NEW Single by Brad Paisley - " Waitin' On A Woman" Single Release Date: JUN 23 (Arista Nashville) Audio:wm.allaccess.com/allaccess/bradwait.wmaVideo:www.cmt.com/sitewide/apps/mediaplayer/index.jhtml?vid=252754Lyrics:Sittin' on a bench at West Town Mall He sat down in his overalls and asked me You waitin' on a woman I nodded yeah and said how 'bout you He said son since nineteen fifty-two I've been Waitin' on a woman When I picked her up for our first date I told her I'd be there at eight And she came down the stairs at eight-thirty She said I'm sorry that I took so long Didn't like a thing that I tried on But let me tell you son she sure looked pretty Yeah she'll take her time but I don't mind Waitin' on a woman He said the wedding took a year to plan You talk about an anxious man, I was nervous Waitin' on a woman And then he nudged my arm like old men do And said, I'll say this about the honeymoon, it was worth it Waitin' on a woman And I don't guess we've been anywhere She hasn't made us late I swear Sometimes she does it just 'cause she can do it Boy it's just a fact of life It'll be the same with your young wife Might as well go on and get used to it She'll take her time 'cause you don't mind Waitin' on a woman I've read somewhere statistics show The man's always the first to go And that makes sense 'cause I know she won't be ready So when it finally comes my time And I get to the other side I'll find myself a bench, if they've got any I hope she takes her time, 'cause I don't mind Waitin' on a woman Honey, take your time, cause I don't mind Waitin' on a woman

My thoughts exactly. As I said in the new singles thread, I like this song well-enough, but there are about a dozen other album cuts of Brad's that I would've preferred.

YES!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
This was my pick for a single while "Time Well Wasted" was still current. I'm SO glad they decided to go with it now. I wonder why and how they're doing this, but I don't care. I thought they really missed a hit when they skipped over this.
I absolutely love this song. I think it's brilliant, instrumentally, lyrically, and even vocally.
EASILY one of my top 5 Brad songs. Now this one deserves #1 for weeks and weeks on end. I have no doubt in my mind that it'll continue his long string of #1 hits.

Did Brad say this would be on his greatest hits? This is one of my favorite songs of his and glad it's seeing the light of day.

If he can get to #1 with I'm Still a Guy and Online and Ticks, this one ought to make it to #0, or #.00001. Fine song! It will be his 8th #1 in a row.

When it was on TWW I always wondered why in the world it was never a single. I thought it would be the third single, then fourth, then the era was over. I'm still bummed I'll Take You Back and It's Rainin You were overlooked too. But whats up with the new trend being releasing songs from multiple albums ago? Tim's 'Blank Sheet of Paper' still has a chance!

Ha ha, I would be ecstatic to see Blank Sheet of Paper. That is one of my most favorite Tim songs ever. That was a tragedy when it wasn't released :( Great writing and imagery too! Can't believe Tim didn't want to help out the Warren Brothers more than he already has ;)

After the hot mess of Let It Go and its recent singles, maybe we will see a BSOP release! ;)

This is one of my favorite songs of his and glad it's seeing the light of day. yes, Brad stated right before he released "Ticks" that he wanted to release this, but there wasn't time so it would be a single from his GH album that would be coming after his next studio album (5th Gear).

Don't want to get too off topic, but maybe there is hope for the next studio album from Tim. I heard a really rough version of the new song "Still" but I really liked it. Sounded like a hit. Also heard "You Had to be There" or something close to that title. Also sounds good.

Not to stay off topic, but Tim's problem has never been putting "hits" on his albums, the problem has been Curb's complete inability to pick singles. They have screwed up his last 5 or 6 cd's (and sadly i'm not exaggerating)

I totally agree about Tim.
I'm surprised that Brad isn't going to try for a 5th #1 from this album. Since the first four did it, and reaching 5 #1s is such a rare accomplishment, I thought he would at least try. This song is good though - I remember hearing it when it was supposed to be released last time. Better than "Ticks", "Online" and "I'm Still A Guy".

I do wish he would go five deep but I love this song. I wonder when the GH will hit. Maybe it will be a package deal with the instumental album.

I also agree about Tim's choice for singles, but the problem only goes back (IMHO) to his past three CDs; the choices from 'Everywhere' (five #1s and 1 #2 single at R&R), 'A Place In The Sun' & 'Set This Circus Down' were fine, although he could have released at least one more single from those last two CDs.
But the choices for singles from GH II, 'LLYWD' & 'LIG' have cost him at least two strong candidates for #1 singles of the year in 'BSOP' & the extraordinary 'I've Got Friends That Do' from his GH II CD.
I'm also really delighted that this is Brad's next single; let the march to his eighth consecutive charttopper (tying that early eighties streak from the Judds) commence right now.

I think Take Me Away From Here was a huge miss from Set This Circus Down.

I found this on country on-demand and I don't think it had been posted.
"With old song on his latest album, Paisley releases new single The story here gets confusing. Brad Paisley recorded his new single, "Waitin' On A Woman," for his 2006 release Time Well Wasted. He loved the song so much, he was determined to get it on country radio. That never happened.
Fast forward to 2008 and "Woman" is Paisley's new single and an added track to his latest album 5th Gear. The song will be available on all hard copy releases and should already be in stores. The song has been re-recorded special for the radio release.
The song was wrote by Don Sampson and George Varble."
No mention of a GH or anything, so I guess for now it's just the dreaded album re-release.

Why on earth remix it? It was perfect before. And good lord at country stars jumping on the rerelease bandwagon now. I think Taylors is the only one thats been worthy.

Are these ripoffs ever going to stop??? i just looked on itunes, and apparently, this was the only song added to 5th gear for the "deluxe" edition. and you don't have to buy the cd to get the "extra" track (prob since it is on TWW)...

This little maneuver will enable Brad to tie Rodney Crowell's record of 5 #1 songs on an album. I'm sure that is not what motivated this, but I can't take this way of achieving 5 #1 songs seriously.
Why stop at 5, anyway? Why not release yet another new version of 5th Gear with a 6th #1 song, possibly a remake of Who Needs Pictures....

According to the Outer Banks Sentinel, Brad Paisley has filmed a video for this, and it will feature Andy Griffith: And here is a quote from Brad Paisley about meeting and working with Andy Griffith:
