This will be the lead single for Pat's upcoming album according to his website:
Due to an overwhelming response to initial airplay at select stations, Pat's new single "Let Me" will be delivered early to major market stations across the US this Friday June 13th at 2pm.
---------------------
Right now Dallas' KSCS is accounting for 13 of the song's 15 spins on Mediabase.

Just heard this on KSCS. It sounds Rascal Flatts-ish to me. It's not bad, but I don't think it's as good as any of the singles he released from his last album.

I turned it on just in time to hear the end of this today, but I liked it. I'll need to hear the whole song to decide if i love it or not. I agree that it sounded MUCH more contemporary than Pat's earlier work (although his last album was already step in that direction). If that's what it takes for Pat to get a long-overdue top 10, then I'm ok with it, as long his whole album isn't full of that kind of material (there are plently of RF'ish albums out there already, but artists like Pat are few and far between).

He could sing the phone book in Texas and there would be overwhelming response. Pat Green is to Texas what Carrie Underwood is to all the other states. Thanks, kevin59. The intro to this song is very, very similar to that of "I Hope You Dance." Not crazy about the song. His phrasing sounds a bit labored during the chorus (the "Let me be the..." part). Or maybe that line just goes on in that plodding style for too long.

I really don't think this is going to go top 10 or 15.

Thanks for posting the link, Kevin, but it won't play for me. The YouTube clip on that ILike page is a bit unexpected....

Nice chart debut at #53. It's always good to see Pat's songs on the chart, even though they tend not to do as well as I would like.

But I'm not greedy -- top 20 would be good enough. Who am I kidding -- hearing it two or three times on local radio would be enough.

I'm glad I got hear the whole song. I like it much more now that I've it all. The production is a bit sloppy, and poorly done. Neither Pat's voice, nor the song itself, are really suited for that kind of contemporary production. That being said, I'll take an overproduced Pat Green song over a great deal of what's on country radio today. It may not make the T10, but I don't think it will have trouble making the Top 20. Bring on a new album!

I was a little surprised, only because I anticipated that the first single from a new CD by Pat would be a very up-tempo rockin' kind of song. I'm very pleasantly surprised though -- I think this song is very.... well, how else can I describe it but sexy. In a "Three Days" or "Crazy" kind of way sexy.
Pat Green deserves a LOT more recognition than he has yet received -- he has a true talent and charisma that produces an absolutely incredible live show. I'm really looking forward to the new CD -- hope this single does well! Goooooooo, Pat!

Three Days is probably my favorite song of Pat's. I'm looking forward to hearing this one. I see there's a link....

This isn't Pat's best song. It sounds like anyone could've recorded it, like it's lacking the usual 'Pat Green' qualities that are unique about his music and distinguish it from everything else on the radio. I also agree that the music at times sounds like "I Hope You Dance" (especially the intro). I don't think it's a bad song, just very average.

The song didn't impress me, but I'll give it a few chances. Not nearly as good as Carry On, Three Days, or Dixie Lullaby (to pick a more recent example). There used to be more of an edge to his music, but I understand and accept that people do change.

Texas loves their Pat Green so I hear him just as much as Kenny on the radio and think its pretty overrated. But I heard this the other night and really liked it! Only the second or third song from him I've liked.

I expected to love this. It's not what I expected.. but I still love it. I love just about anything Pat releases. Even if it is different from his normal work.

is this real different than what he usually does? i hope so because i hate almost everything he has released previously. "Dixie Lullaby" was good though, and "Way Back Texas" was bearable but everything else i absolutely hated. i havent gotten a chance to listen to it yet, but i dont have high hopes for it.

Give it a listen -- it's different than some of the other songs you may have heard released as singles, but to me (a long time Pat Green fan) it also has what I call "Pat personality" to it. It's definitely a love song, and Pat's delivery of it is .... well, very sexy!
I haven't seen any "official" lyrics, but I believe this is pretty close...
Keep your head there on my shoulder Let's just lay here for awhile We can hurry when we're older Girl don't worry about tomorrow That just seems so far away Love will lead me and you All that we have to do is follow, just follow
Let me be the one who sets your feet up on a road where you've never been Oh and baby then, You can let me take these arms and wrap you up inside a night that will never end I wanna be that man, if you let me C'mon baby let me
Baby leave those candles burning Slide on over here to me If you run with me girl You know we'll make this world stop turning, just stop turning
Let me be the one who sets your feet up on a road where you've never been Oh and baby then, You can let me take these arms and wrap you up inside a night that will never end I'd like to be that man, if you'd let me. Ohhhhhh, ohhhhh
Let me be the one who sets your feet up on a road where you've never been Yeah, let me take these arms and wrap you up inside a night that will never end I wanna be that man, if you let me Sweet baby, let me

A bit of info of the upcoming album.
Pat Green played a familiar tune, "Carry On," which a handful of stations played back in 2002. He said it will be included on his upcoming CD on BNA, and later Sony BMG chairman Joe Galante told me they eventually plan to make it a single.

Awesome! "Carry On" is a great song and think it would do great as an official single!

Pat mentioned something about Carry On before they played it Saturday night at the show at City Hall in Nashville, but I didn't catch his exact words. I thought he said something (with a grin) about a song written for the new record though.
They also played a new song (one I suspect would be on the new CD and possibly be a single) called LUCKY that was written with Patrick Davis and Justin Pollard. Patrick Davis also sang with Pat on the song at the show -- catchy song that the crowd seemed to enjoy as much as I did! There's a youtube clip of it, but I'm not familar enough with the forum etiquette here to know if I should post it.
And to get back to the subject of LET ME -- I like the song and am pleased to see that it is continuing to do well. As with many songs, the live version always has some extra impact for me (just my opinion).

Ugh, I don't like the melody of the chorus. They use the same note, like, 14 times in a row, and there are other repeated notes that make it sound like a Rascal Flatts song. At least his voice saves it.

I don't know how much I like Pat's "different approach to his style of music", but it is listenable.
I REALLY miss the Texas Pat. "Three Days" is one of the best country songs by a Texas artist ever.
But I like "Let Me" enough and am glad it's doing well for now. I will be looking forward and getting his new CD. Does anyone know when it comes out?

The latest word is that the new CD is expected out in February.
I wish it was sooner, but they are trying to time it for what will hopefully be maximum success for the album.

wgar.com still has his new album listed to be out on November 18th. It will be titled "What I'm For". Hopefully that's still the case. Although I don't love this single, I can't wait for a new album for Pat.
