No, an update is not impending or likely, as I mentioned a few months ago in the Alternative thread! I had a dearth of anything to do recently, and I was looking something up in my book, and I found the bio I read to be interesting (and listing a fact I'd forgotten); so I've now decided, all these years later, to sit down and read my own stinkin' book! Of course I'd read and reread the jabber at the beginning, but had not gone through each artist, their bios, etc. And oh my lord, I am so embarrassed at the poor proofreading!!! I started with Madonna, and in only a few pages: poor grammar in Ziggy Marley (left out a word) typo in Martika (firm instead of film) dyslexia in Mike and The Mechanics (Adiran instead of Adrian) and the ultimate stupidity: spelling Megadeth wrong!!! At this rate, once I get done with the whole thing, I'll probably be sittin' on 75 fubars! Y'all were too kind to have not brought any of these to my attention! Though I understand many of you were greatful to have it in any imperfect condition. And I of course am also compelled to add my own updates as I read them, i.e. I'd now note that Idina Menzel is married to Taye Diggs. I'll post back if I see any other egregious or amusing ones...

Are you referring to your chart book from 2001? Is there a second edition coming?!?!

Holy moly! :o There've been several more, but I just quit collecting them in the face of so many! Probably won't make it to 75, though! But the one I just saw was amazing! I just sat there and said "You've gotta be kidding me!". I completely left out Boy George's first hit, that #40 smash "Live My Life" from the Hiding Out soundtrack! To paraphrase Basement Jaxx: where's my brain at? And the one I saw subsequent to coming back to the computer: I left out the "I" in Toni Braxton's "I Belong To You". Totally odd, since I like that song, and played the crap out of it when I was working at the radio station!

The misery is over; C- on my proofreading! Two other humdingers to finish it off: I failed to include James Ingram's "There's No Easy Way", and his Kenny Rogers/Kim Carnes triet: "What About Me"; then I left off Mick Jaggers first two solo hits! Totally amazing dumbness; but with all the hours I worked on it, I guess my eyes just glazed over along with my brain.

I've written documents that I've read at least a dozen times and still manage to find errors. Happens to the best of us. :) Regardless of complete accuracy, the compendium has been a handy resource have around. The only glaring omission that I happened upon whilst first reading it was the complete absence of The Black Crowes. They scored two Top 40 hits in the post-11/23/91 timeframe covered. But I won't complain.
