I don't think it'll matter that GFAAGOW didn't do well. "Some People" was released after "Something's Gotta Give" and the prior success didn't help it at all.
I'm just excited that more people will hear this song. It's amazing.

Curb HAS to send this to pop and AC! There is no way around it! PWBTW did well on AC and this could do just as well. If it was "spruced & shortened-up" a bit, she could have a really big hit on her hands. What about getting the song on some sort of commercial? If Curb wanted pop crossover, Doesn't Anybody would be the way to go. Speaking of pop, if LeAnn goes back into the studio, I hope she does another pop album. I love Twisted Angel and Whatever We Wanna.

Speaking of Some People, why did that song flop so bad? I wasn't around on the boards for the discussion back then. I thought that was such a beautiful song and well written. It was one of my favorites on the CD and I was ecstatic when they released it. Did it just not have any promotion?

It's probably my fave LeAnn song as she does it SO flawlessly. I thought it was a hit waiting to happen but radio was WAY off. Now, Whatever We Wanna.....that album can stay overseas. It was torturous. Twisted Angel was really good though.

As I've said before, I think "Twisted Angel" and especially "Whatever We Wanna" are two of LeAnn's best material. I think pop music is where LeAnn best showcases her outstanding vocal ability.
I'll GLADLY pay $20 again for a pop album released only in Europe.

I guess radio decided they already gave her enough hits off that album.

This is my personal experience with this song. I may have shared this before, but I think it belongs in this thread.
My friends and I drove four hours to visit Nashville yesterday for the Luis Palau CityFest or whatever it's called, but really just to see LeAnn. No shame. My friends had never seen her live and this thing was free, so why not?
Well, it was HOT. And there were 35,000 people. And we stood there forever on the street waiting to see LeAnn because after walking around Nashville for oh, 15 minutes, we noticed the crowd growing and we wanted to be somewhat close. So we stood there during all of the musical acts.
The 2nd act decided to start a rampage about homosexuality. And that's fine, you know, I respect everyone's beliefs and opinions and it takes a lot to upset me. But this guy just wouldn't stop. After about 5 minutes of hearing about my "sexual perversions," he quit and I let it slide off my shoulders and tried to enjoy his music again. But after another song, he started in again. This time he expanded on how homos aren't "real people, only spirits that attach themselves to people." wtf. On and on and on about how I need to change, for a good 10 minutes.
At this point I couldn't even look over at my best friend for fear that her head was going to explode as she was more upset than I was. It was all very aggravating, knowing that we drove so far and stood so long just to hear this guy bash me.
Of course as soon as LeAnn came on stage, I felt better and then, THEN.......
"WHAT I CANNOT CHANGE"
OH
MY
GOD.
Not only was this song worth the four hour drive, but it was also perfect after hearing the BashFest earlier. "I will learn to love what I cannot change." What better lyrics could I ask for at that point in the day? My friends thought I was going to fall over flat on my face when she started singing those choruses because I was in such shock. Megan reached over and hugged me because she knew how I felt. Seriously you guys, you have to hear this. Go to a concert this summer, it'll be worth it. I think this may be my new favorite song, ever, as it seemed to surpass even the incredible vocals of "Love Is An Army." I still have goosebumps. It's perfect!
Thank you LeAnn for making yesterday a good day. Your music conquers hate and rudeness and all things bad.
LeAnn:
Anthony, I am so sorry you had to experience something like that! I got the letter you sent back and started crying while reading it. It is so incrediable to hear how MY words are touching people. Love yourself, don't ever let go of that, no matter what! Thank you for making MY day! LeAnn

^ Yeah it sucks that there are still people THAT ignorant in the world today, but it's a sad fact. I think it's really awesome that LeAnn responded to u!

LeAnn is very personal with her fan club members (I am one), which makes me like her so much more. I have had the chance to meet her 3 times now and she actually remembered me from the time before. That made my day. She is really a very pretty woman in person and very ginuine.

I love her voice on this song. Heck, this could be sent out to anything from pop to Christian Inspo. Love it. Wow. That's very interesting. Do you remember who the artist was doing the bashing?

Going to see her Saturday in Nashville with the Poets & Pirates tour. Doesn't look like this one has made it to the stadiums' set list though, maybe she will do it, I know the crowd would like it.

I'm still curious what they'll do with the radio edit. Part of the song's strength is the haunting instrumentation.
They could start at the 38 second mark (after the quiet musical intro) and then play the next 4 minutes and cut off the outro. I think the radio edit kind of butchered Reba's The Only Promise when they pretty much stripped out all of the solo instrumentation.

There's an instumental part also right before the bridge at the end..."Right now I can't care about how anyone else will feel...." They can take that out.

The act's name was Tye Tribbett & G.A. Since this is a single now, I thought it'd be interesting to revisit the song's appearance on a trashy yet very popular site: perezhilton.com/2007-09-28-new-leanne

I guess that explains the belief anyways (kind of.. disappointed about the rampage)... Anyways, sorry for the off-topic-ness.

I'm born again Christian and am very conservative myself, but that gives me no right to bash others. While I am to be a witness for Christ, the Bible clearly teaches that there is only one judge and that is God, not me, therefore the job of a Christian is to present the word of God, not to use it to tear others down.
Just my thought, back to WICC....

I'm sorry, I just have to continue this. I was literally just looking this up in the Bible I have (which is an "easy-to-read" version for stupid people like me ) and I was looking up the subject of homosexuality... It says that homosexuals are sinners just like everyone else (because homosexuality is not the unforgivable sin). Therefore, I take back what I said about understanding where their beliefs come from. And replace it with something along the lines of "that's just plain pathetic." ANYWAYS, tying the subjects somewhat together, the more I hear this song, the more I think they should send it out to some Christian format. There is one verse that isn't totally inspirational, but "Whatever It Takes" by Lifehouse is doing pretty good on Christian AC, and I don't think the verse about "let me inside even though it hurts" is remotely Christian.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
Sorry, I don't mean to be theological, but this is just how I am. Everyone has sinned and the Bible also says that in the eyes of God no one sin is bigger than the other. He does call some sins "abominations", but all sin is punishable by death and the second death by God. HOWEVER, that is why Jesus came to earth to die for sinners, so if we accept Him into our lives we can be saved from a life of sin.
That right there is the reason I cannot stand and point my finger at some other person, because I am a sinner too- although I have been saved by grace and faith in Jesus. I still sin everyday (nothing huge, just small things)- but sin is sin in the eyes of God.
I am saying that because that artist really had no right to judge one particular group of people when we are all sinners. He may be a Christian, but he is not leading a life like he is supposed to. Jesus never went about making fun of sinners, He simply showed them salvation.
Sorry if that offends anyone but that's my belief and I stand by it. I'm just trying to illustrate that not all Christians are this way- that's not the way to be because, as I've said, we are not the judge. I like the saying "Hate the sin, love the sinner" and that's where I leave this discussion.

Well, according to kevin, this is slated for release on August 18th. That's quite a ways a way. I suppose they want to closer to the winter due to the tempo.

^That is what I hate about LeAnn and her people! They wait until so long to release a single, when it will take from now til Aug. 18th to catch on if they released it today. The album is done, there's really no saving that, so maybe they're just waiting, like you said, til closer to winter?

This song is really gorgeous. Such a perfect vocal delivery, too. My only concern is that it might be too slow for radio, but hopefully I'm wrong.

This is my personal experience with this song. I may have shared this before, but I think it belongs in this thread. Thank you for sharing your story. Most Christians who love to look down upon gays have never read their Bibles. They don't know that God considers 2nd marriages adulterous (punishable by stoning unless the first spouse died). They like to say that we are now no longer under "The Law" since Jesus came. Problem is that Jesus hates hypocrites and NEVER condemned homosexuality from the texts we know. His servant Paul condemns homos, but he also thinks that people shouldn't get married unless they are so full of lust that they can't control themselves. So are all you married folk weak and so pathetic that you can't commit your lives to Jesus the way he wanted and stay single? Many of you will be angry reading what I wrote.. but if you have brain cells you will think about it. I'm sure I'll be in trouble posting this in the Country forum. That's fine. LOVE THIS SONG, by the way. Change what you can, but accept yourself for what you can't.
