I think her writing moved over well into country. Her Long Goodbye song has Dwight Yoakam singing with her on it. I hope she lets some of it out next Monday. Jessica has Vince Gill on one of her songs also. She has from hearing some more rock infulenced like Take a Chance and Summertime. Her Jack and Jim will be a great bar song but I don't see it being singled.

Here is what Michelle had to say about the release date. board.michellebranch.com/index.php?showtopic=2350&st=0It is not a good sign to have your album pushed back from the prime pre-Christmas release date to a January release date, a time that traditionally has the lowest sales of the year. :(

i'm a massive michelle fan, but i think maybe the country move wasn't the best....there's already a glass ceiling at country radio for female artists, and look at how crossovers have done: jewel, jessica simpson, even the wreckers only had one big hit.
regardless, i'll definitely be buying it.

Damn it. Sooner Or Later has already died for me. I need some new Michelle Branch now! February is too far away.

^that's if it even get's released in February! It seems like it'll never get released at this rate. It's her shitty label though, so I don't blame her. They've screwed over Jessica too.

New song with Timbaland for the MINI commercial:
I like it...I pretty much love everything Michelle does. Maybe the album is taking so long because she's reworking it as a Loose-type record?

I know it seems as though the album isn't gonna be what it originally was supposed to be. Either way, i want more news now! They need to announce a release date, tracklisting, hell SOMETHING!

I don't know if Michelle could pull off a Loose album. I could see songs like All Good Things (Come to an End) and some of the other songs, but definitely nothing like Maneater, Promiscuous, Do It or Glow. lol I mean, Nelly's change wasn't as drastic as people made it out to be. She always had hip hop in her music before, she just went more in that direction. Promiscuous was the only song that was a big change. However, Michelle hasn't really done much hip-hop influenced stuff. Hell, I don't think she's done any. So, I don't think I would like a "Loose" from her. "Getaway" is a nice song though, and its not totally different for her. It still has a Michelle Branch feel to it, but it also has new elements of Hip-hop and such.

Michelle will be selling a 6 song EP on the road with her this summer. The songs on the EP are: Ready To Let You Go Sooner or Later I Want Tears Crazy Ride Summertime Everything Comes And Goes It will be available on iTunes within the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more info. ----- Will the imending full-length have the other 6 tracks or completely new ones? So sad to see her album butchered like this, not how she intended. But at least it's FINALLY getting released.

I think they might be shelving it and either working on something completely new or dropping her. I'd be very upset, but I've no doubt she could go the indie route.
Putting out the EP feels like a trial run.

Putting out the EP feels like a trial run. There's been some updates on this album in the Country genre forum, and she's apparently recorded 20 tracks of the past 2 years for the album so she's releasing the EP along w/ the album to allow for all the new material to be released. The album's been re-titled to Different Kind of Country and is expected to drop in December 2010.

I just discovered her EP and her country music. LOVE IT. I Want Tears is heavenly and Sooner or Later is amazing. She deserves some country success, her EP is really good.

Just passin' threw to give a quick Michelle update: - Her new EP Everything Comes and Goes is now available on iTunes
- The Physical version will be in stores September 14th
- Up until now, it had been exclusively on sale threw her official website, but that version was a poorly printed, burned CD-R in a cheap cardboard sleeve. So..don't buy that version.
- Still no word on a release date for the LP, Different Kind of Country. It's definitely not coming out this year, though... :'(

I've heard the song "Different Kind of Country" at a recent Michelle gig and it's a really, really good song. I'm not sure if any live versions of it are floating around the internet yet. But I think the song will be very well received.
I also own a 13 track industry CD version of Everything Comes and Goes and I can assure you that the missing songs are all incredibly well written and recorded. When I first heard about the duet, I had my doubts... but it works perfectly! I really hope the rest of these songs get bounced onto Different Kind of Country.

Just passin' threw to remind everyone that Everything Comes and Goes should now be in stores! I think the prospect of an earlier release date for Different Kind of Country will be contingent on the success of this EP, so I hope people buy a copy to show the label there's still a fanbase out there. The EP has been on itunes for a few weeks now (and was advertised on the front page), but it hasn't charted on the Billboard 200 yet...
