Thaaaank you!
It takes a lot for me to admit this, but I agree, it's a little too overproduced. I like it though; and, hell, anything's a step (or five) up from Hottie.

I've always thought Toby was an excellent songwriter. And Bobby Pinson is in a league of his own. I don't know how they came up with "She's A Hottie", but this one is a HUGE improvement.
I LOVE this song. It's MUCH better than the boring "Love Me If You Can". I'm still really shocked that he's going with a ballad for a lead single. He must be THAT confident in this song or something.
However, this is VERY radio friendly. It kinda leads me to believe that the album will be boring and not any better than "Big Dog Daddy". I really hope that's not the case.

This is his best single since he hit #1 with 'A Little Too Late'.
He'll undoubtedly reach the top five with this, and hitting #1 after Paisley & Strait reach the penthouse doesn't seem out of the question.

Toby Keith returns to form. It's still early but i think its a great sign for the new album. He's been pretty formulamatic with releasing the upbeat gimmicky 1st single followed by a ballad. It's nice to switch it up every now and then.

According to Country Aircheck, it will be available for radio via Play MPE at noon (EDT) on Thursday, June 26th. Looks like they changed their minds. The song was sent out today instead. Also, the album is due out in October. Single cover:

Don't like it at all, but it's miles better than "She's A Hottie".

Well, this is alright I guess. I'll probably have to hear it a few more times to decide if I really like it or not, but it wasn't bad. Better than his last 4 or 5 singles. It's definetly overproduced, and the bridge is very Rascal Flattish, but overall I'll take this from Toby. He seemed to really put his heart into singing this song, which is something that's been sorely lacking from Toby's ballads. I'm not sure about #1, but I think this should easily make the T5.

Wow, this is good. His voice sounds a little higher like it did in the mid 1990s.
Zazie, damn, you're good. You pretty much nailed it.

Well let's face it folks--most of you knew how much he despised the bigwigs at his record label.
Since 'Hottie' was going to be his final single for them, it made perfect sense for him to send out that 'dog' of a song as a 'parting shot' to his label, and save his A-level material for his next CD.

That doesn't make too much sense, since Show Dog promoted it at radio. I realize it was a UMe project, but he endorsed and and gave them a new track for it. (more than Trisha did for her "Hits" on MCA). And, should that explanation be true, that still doesn't account for "High Maintanence Woman"....

I agree that Toby really seems to put his heart and soul into singing this song.

This one will have no problem soaring into the Top 5.
This is easily his best single since atleast "Big Blue Note".

I think "Stays in Mexico" at #27 was his highest debut. After that would be "Honkytonk U" and "I Love This Bar", which both debuted at #30. I know most of his songs went something like 48-27 in their first couple weeks.

That's funny, I was under the impression that nobody liked Big Blue Note. I really like Big Blue Note. Great song! I like it too. It's quirky and different, which is just what Toby needs every now and then. I think it's kind of strange how we ended up with two "talking" songs around the same time (BBN and Alan's "The Talkin' Song Repair Blues").

While I'm sure that his label did promote 'She's A Hottie' at radio, that's what they're supposed to do, aren't they?
My point is that 'SAH' is arguably his worst single of this decade (alongside 'Stays In Mexico' & the excruciating 'Mockingbird, IMHO), which is why I really expected 'HMW' to be a huge single instead of winding up entering the history books by taking the biggest weekly drop in spins this decade, a record which figures to be broken by the end of this week, thanks to Rascal Flatts.
