Can't wait to hear it, but I hope it's better than Toby's last few singles.

I like the title too, especially the full title. She Never Cried in Front Of Me (Until the First Time I Sang "She's a Hottie" For Her)

Sounds like a ballad and he always well with them. (Exception is "Love Me If You Can" horrible song in my opinion) Can't wait to hear this one.

this sounds like it could be a civil song. but i am not getting my hopes up. i would not be surprised if Toby somehow made this into a song about hot women or heavy drinking.
hopefully this will be a "Tough"-like song (Craig Morgan). i think i might actually like that if Toby did something along those lines.

That's a possible theme. I am guessing it will be more like Ty Herndon's excellent What Mattered Most, man-loses-woman because he didn't know she was unhappy. She cried, but only in private...

i have never heard that one. but that seems like it would be very good! i hope it would be like that because i dont think anything could top "Tough", that is why i hated "The Strong One" from Clint Black so much.
well hopefully it is just something REALLY good! i want to like a Toby Keith song again. i havent had that feeling in a very very very very long time :'(

^ really? I know WMM is like a dozen years old, but it still gets pretty good recurrent airplay around here. I'm surprised you haven't heard it. Toby would be hard-pressed to make a song in the same league as WMM (my 5th favorite song of all-time), but I'm still encouraged by the title.

YES! I'm always excited about new Toby songs!
I wish there was a clip for it. I'm sure it's good though. I like the title. It sounds like a ballad, as someone already mentioned, and I think Toby masters every single ballad he sings. Him and George are both masters of ballads.
But I can't see Toby going with a slow song as a lead single for a new album. VERY un-Toby like.

well i dont listen to regular radio, only SIRIUS and XM and they typically dont play songs over 5 years of age. Prime Country (Sirius 61) does play What Mattered Most, fwiw. On XM, US Country and probably WSIX play it. But yeah, if you mostly listen to Sirius New Country and XM Highway 16 (as I do also), you're not likely to hear that song.

What does this mean? It's been around the R&R site for a couple days (that I've noticed). He waves the white flag, admitting that in order to ever score a number one he needs to stop cutting crap like She's A Hottie?

And now Toby says "She Never Cried In Front Of Me"... hmmmmmmmmmmmm.... hahaha

Lol, I would take a Toby/Natalie duet if it meant getting to hear Natalie on the radio again :) I think this event would be a "Cold Day in July" though.
I miss the Chicks :(

You can hear the song here (Thanks to slamminmama from Toby's CMT board for finding this). I think it's a little overproduced (mainly the chorus), but it's good enough. Miles better than "She's A Hottie," and probably my favorite single of Toby's since "As Good As I Once Was." It's difficult to believe that this song was written by the same two guys responsible for writing "She's A Hottie" (Toby/Bobby Pinson). Lyrics: Seven thirty-five She's someone else's wife Now I can get on with my life That thrills me She's buried in the day Her daddy gave the bride away I heard a tear roll down her face That kills me 'Cause now I can see why She's finally cryin' How was I supposed to know She was slowly lettin' go If I was putting her through hell Hell, I couldn't tell She could've given me a sign And opened up my eyes How was I supposed to see She never cried in front of me Yeah, maybe I might've changed It's hard for me to say But the story's still the same It's a sad one And I'll always believe If she ever did cry for me They were tears that you can't see You know the bad ones And now I can see why She's finally cryin' How was I supposed to know She was slowly lettin' go If I was putting her through hell Hell, I couldn't tell She could've given me a sign And opened up my eyes How was I supposed to see She never cried in front of me Without a doubt, I know now How it oughta be But she's gone, and it's wrong And it bothers me Tomorrow I'll still be asking myself How was I supposed to know She was slowly letting go If I was putting her through hell Hell, I couldn't tell She could've given me a sign And opened up my eyes How was I supposed to see How was I supposed to see She never cried in front of me Hell, I couldn't tell

Thanks, rowdawg21.
Wow...this is way more Rascal Flattsy than I would have ever expected from Toby Keith. :o He is singing higher than I'm accustomed to hearing from him, too. And I think he oversings the verses pretty badly.
Is this what Toby Keith thinks he needs to do for another #1 on country radio? I hope not, because "Love Me If You Can" is in a different league than this song. I agree with rowdawg21 about the overproduction on this song, too. As much as I loathe "She's a Hottie," it has a much more interesting sound to it (if only I could just tune out the lyrics). This just doesn't sound like Toby Keith to me.
