Anyone else think this song sounds a bit 90s Vince Gill esque? I don't think so. Vince never did make-out songs. I get sort of a 70s smooth love song vibe.

Typical Billy Currington run. Starts out slow, then bam, suddenly takes off once it reaches mid-twenties. This one took off only around week 14 (as compared to Good Directions, which I think took 20+ weeks to get going), so he may be in for a big one here.
And that's just as well, since this song has really grown on me.

I just saw the video of this for the first time the other day. As much as I love Billy and this song, that video has got to be the corniest thing I have ever seen. I wanted to gag it was so silly.

Wow, a 4 star review and a 1.5 star review. It's not that often that reviews contrast THAT much. Anyway, I really like Billy's voice, and he seems to really grasp how to sing and interpret lyrics, but the production holds this song back for me. Billy sings his heart out, but I don't care for the production at all. I haven't bought the album yet, but what I heard was fairly spotty. Definetly some standout tracks (Every Reason Not To Go; Life, Love, and the Meaning Of), but too many overproduced songs that are either too pop and generic, or too "beachy".

I truly love Don't and am a billy currington fan; his Little Bit Of Everything came in at No. 2 on Country as well as 4 other charts and his International sales are high. Thinking he has done extremely well in these hard times. And the cd is a pleasure to listen to- it's nice to smile again and have some good toe tapping music. The songs are well written and play one song after the other nicely. And the video is fun because it's very fan based and not a lot of techno, makeup and all the glossy toys. I'm loving it... but then I love billy currington and his voice.
Also love Lee Ann and notice on hits daily double today.... that her numbers aren't near what billy c's was and kenny's are wayyyy down. Between Hallow's Eve, the markets.... and the election.... it's a hard row to hoe this month it seems. By the by. love this board and and honored to be a part of it.

How did this song get like a 3 million gain two weeks ago and then just totally go flat the last couple weeks?

This song has grown on me tremendously since it was released. I didn't care for it for about five months or so, but now in 2009 I find myself singing it in my head. Good stuff.

"Don't" could very well be another #1 hit for Billy in the next couple of weeks.

Typical Currington run: Slow, slow, slow, slow, fast, slow, fast, slow, fast, slow. That's exactly what Good Directions did.

I haven't really been paying much attention to it's chart run but I was surprised to see it get as high as it did. I expect it to be #1 in the next 2 weeks.

And now he's #1 @ Mediabase; how does that grab you?

And now he's #1 @ Mediabase; how does that grab you? About like food poisoning. Seriously though, I really like Billy's voice, but this song is just so cheesy (from the production to the over-the-top lyrics) that I can't enjoy it. It's nice to see Billy having success, I just wish it was with a better song.

Really? I find this song to be one of the strongest on the charts. I really like this song. His voice blends with the production well and the 80's throwback feel of the song works well with his voice. I'm glad this hit #1.

I think the main dislike with this song is that it's so similar to "Just Got Started Lovin' You" (which I agree with; "I ain't even close to through lovin' you" just clinches it for me).

I'm surprised to see this ended up at #4 this week on R&R after being at #1 on mediabase. Weird how all the top 5 songs on the R&R chart all have 28+ million in audience. So, is this song's chance at #1 done? I wanted to see it get there for a week, but I am excited for Blake to get there soon too and Dierks if he makes it.

It's probably been a while since we've had a song only get to #4 on Billboard, while topping one of the other "major" country charts. I know George's I Can Still Make Cheyenne topped out at #4 on BB in 1996, while it hit #1 on the then-separate R&R chart.

I know George's I Can Still Make Cheyenne topped out at #4 on BB in 1996, while it hit #1 on the then-separate R&R chart. I know more recently we've had more discrepancies that were pretty big. JMM's "I Miss You a Little" and Shania/Bryan's "From This Moment On" were both #6 on Billboard but #1 on then-separate R&R, in 1997 and 1998 respectively. Reba's "Forever Love" was #4 BB/#1 R&R in late 1998 as well. #6 is the lowest Billboard peak I've found for an R&R #1. Between 2000 and early 2005, the only old-R&R-only #1's that I've found are "The Impossible" (#3 BB), "I Just Wanna Be Mad" (#2 BB), "She's My Kind of Rain" (#2 BB; somehow got two weeks at #1 on R&R), "Homewrecker" (#2 BB), and "Good Ride Cowboy" (#3 BB).

I think LeAnn Rimes's "Something's Gotta Give" was number one on R&R, but not BB.

I think LeAnn Rimes's "Something's Gotta Give" was number one on R&R, but not BB. That and Carrie's "Don't Forget to Remember Me" a few months previous. I think LeAnn's was after the change to Mediabase.

first off, I absolutely love Billy Currington's Don't. Some people have claimed he is "whiney" in the same way Brad is but whatever.
Second off, I am wondering if anyone knows who the girl is in the music video, because she is smoking good looking.
