I am eager to hear this one to for Blake's spin on it. Maybe it will be like "Nobody But Me" which I loved but never thought it would be a single, then went to #4.

Looks like a new disc. Supring, considering they just snookered his fans into buying a second copy of BS. Which was.....BS IMHO!
Unless he does some amazing transformation of the demo of this song , I believe Ill be sitting out on purchasing this new album til I hear something remotely.......good.

Hmm, not sure what to think. I am sure Blake will sound totally different but I don't care for Cory's version. Then again, I saw the link on his myspace for If You'd Called Yesterday and it doesn't sound anything like Julie Robert's awesome version :)

Is anyone else having trouble getting this to work? Maybe it's just my computer at work but it won't play for me.

Is anyone else having trouble getting this to work? Maybe it's just my computer at work but it won't play for me. It worked for me. The demo on Cory Batten's myspace is unimpressive. The melody sounds very generic, as if we've heard the song before. Maybe Blake will change it up. I actually disagree. I think it has a different kind of sound to it, and I think it's well-written. I see this becoming another top 10 single for Blake.

Thanks! That worked. Well, I love it from that little clip. Nice mid-tempo sounding song. Hmm, the CMT link works for me now. Gosh, I LOVE this song. I think it's really catchy and I love the feel of the song. I think it's a sure-fire summer hit.

I actually disagree. I think it has a different kind of sound to it, and I think it's well-written. I see this becoming another top 10 single for Blake. The verses sound like More Than A Memory to me. And something about it feels like a Josh Gracin or Keith Anderson song. It's just okay to me. I like most of the songs on his last cd more than this one. I'm still bummed that She Don't Love Me wasn't released.

I agree on both your points. The verses sorta build like in "More Than A Memory" and this song sounds much more like something Josh Gracin would release...

With RealPlayer you can download & save it, that's what I did. Yeah that's what I do too. But I'm not the kind of person who can just give up on something like that; I'll probably be up until 2AM trying to figure the dang thing out. Anyways, this song is pretty good. A little surprised they're moving on to a new album so quickly though. With the success of "Home" and this being a lead-off single, I fully expect top 10 and probably/maybe top 5.

I don't think the beat or melody allows Blake Shelton to showcase what makes his voice most attractive or distinctive. He actually sounds to me like he's a little unsure how to approach this song in the recording.

I don't hear MTAM, but I can definetly see Josh Gracin singing this song. In fact, I think it sounds like it was practically written and produced for Josh. That being said, I like the song (not as much as I would if Josh were actually singing). I think it's a pretty safe release on the heels of Home, but I'm not convinced it will go T10. I expect a chart run similar to Don't Make Me.

Blake Shelton She Wouldn't Be Gone Warner Bros. Blake continues to make, in my opinion, some of the best music of his career. This follow up to his #1 hit "Home" is a solid mid-tempo coulda/woulda/shoulda song about not realizing what you have until it's too late. The songwriting is stellar and the instrumentation is great, but it's Blake's vocals that take center stage, full of heartbreak and determination. Blake seems to be best known for his fun, almost campy songs like "Some Beach" and "The More I Drink," and they are great tunes. But songs like this show us that he is maturing as an artist and we are the benefactor. Impacting 8/11. wm.allaccess.com/allaccess/blakshew.wma

Nice review. My thoughts exactly :) Then again, they never put a bad review up there, lol.
I was thinking today this song reminds me a bit of Tim McGraw's Watch the Wind Go By--just slightly. I think it is the run on sentence kind of without a breath thing--all i wanna do is let it be and be with you and watch the wind go by (not sure the exact words) but I get a feel like that in this song.

I just found out Blake will be near me on August 30th, so I get to hear "Home" & "She Wouldn't Be Gone" live for the first time.

From MusicRow Robert K. Oermann Songwriting is in the spotlight this week. The oomphy “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” penned by Cory Batten and Jennifer Adan has found its perfect voice in Blake Shelton.
BLAKE SHELTON/She Wouldn’t Be Gone Writer: Cory Batten/Jennifer Adan; Producer: Scott Hendricks; Publisher: I Want to Hold Your Songs/Tommy Jo, BMI; Warner Bros. —Now that we have that episode of him singing a pop tune behind us, Blake is back to his true forte. This big, range-y melody is just his size, and he sings the fire out of it. Driving, urgent and pounding.

I expect a chart run similar to Don't Make Me. I feel the same. I don't think this will fly up the charts and I'm not convinced it will go Top 10 either. Off the heels of "Home" it should make Top 20, but after that I'm not so sure. The song itself is good enough, but it's nowhere near his best work.

"She Wouldn't Be Gone" is being played on my CC Station already, which is big surprise to me as they are slow to add a Blake Shelton song.

Can't wait to see the video. I'm really curious to see if this thing will make top 10. I honestly have my doubts.
