It still doesn't seem real. I'm so heartbroken right now. I love MJ and always will. I hope he now will finally be at peace.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and many fans around the world.
I love you Michael always and forever. :'(

I wasn't even born until the beginning of his Bad era, didn't know about him until the mid 90s, and didn't follow him during a new album era until 2001 yet I know his impact and success... and that Mariah and Britney won't quite be as great a loss to the industry once they go.

AND no one can ever say one has more impact than others. In general one might have much more impact but to each his own.
Michael Jackson for me will always be the biggest and most influential music icon ever. He only released few albums compared to other artists but he was able to be this big and this influential. Just goes to show how big he is, really. I doubt anyone else who will die will have this same impact.

To compare madonna to michael is just plain stupid. to even put her in the same league with him is atrocious. Michael will be one and only forever , no one can even come close to him not now not tomorrow not in the future. Period! God bless him and may he find pace up there.

Wow. Courtesy of bks, here is some information on Michael Jackson's presence at radio and on iTunes.
"Rock With You" is almost Top 50 in airplay in the US. That's amazing.

How long before Sony puts a new GH out in order to capitalize on this? Vultures, to be sure. If I'm not wrong, a new GH was scheduled to coincide with the O2 shows, which was a 1CD version of The Essential MJ. Probably was meant as an UK only release.

Stop with the comparisons with Madonna, IMO she is not in the same league as Michael Jackson and I won't be affected like this if she passes away.
Wow @ her iTunes placing and airplay. Just proves to show how iconic he is, despite having no new material for the past 8 years and releasing material like every 6 years before that. Just WOW

How classless for anyone to discuss how much of an impact another artist's death would have.

We don't make those sort of icons anymore. He is arguably the last living LEGEND- unviersally and worldwide. Macca is probably the only universally loved icon on Michael's level that is still alive. Madge is a legend in her own right, but she is not playing in that field.

Her manager released a statement that she was flying to LA. Seriously at this page, this board can't even mourn and pay respect with class...

The whole comparing to Madonna thing is really low, but related to her there is this from Guy Oseary:
The moment that never happened: A month ago Madonna told me she wanted to do a surprise performance at one of michael Jackson's uk shows.
Madonna and Michael on a stage together? So sad we'll never see it. :(
