#3 this week. George Strait and Taylor Swift are fairly far behind. With "Kiss A Girl" taking off for Keith Urban, "Sweet Thing" will likely begin to fall pretty quickly now. I think this has a good shot at hitting number one after Darius Rucker gets 1 or 2 weeks. If it does, that would give Reba her 23rd #1 hit, and put her closer to tying Dolly Parton as the female with the most #1s on Billboard (Dolly currently has 25).

I know you're a big fan, but this result isn't very likely. The song is down 1.6 million so far this week on MB. Rucker's up 800k. Let's just say Rucker picks up 5 million vs. Cowboys on next week's chart, giving him a 7 million lead, with Cowboys having had a huge down week that will only increase the following week. When's the #1 week on this calendar? I can believe it will get a week at #2 next week, assuming Urban keeps on losing one million+ a day. That's as far as I can go with this particular fantasy. Edited because I can't subtract -- the song's only down 0.6, not 1.6, so my comments are exaggerated. Still, Rucker's going to gain about 3 mill on Cowboys, so I still believe the results will turn out similar to what I wrote above. Back to elementary school for Zazie.

Again I'll ask the question. Why have Brooks & Dunn been slipping so much lately? Four singles deep on Cowboy Town and not only are they 0 for 4 in hitting #1, they've also failed to even go gold on this album. What do you think is the reason for their continued decline over the past four years?

Thanks Zazie. I was just going off of the new Billboard/R&R data, where B&d/Reba were up 1.5 million AI vs. Darius' 2.1, so closing the gap seemed more plausible. I haven't checked Mediabase all week, so I didn't realize that they were in the negatives now. Oh well, top 3 is still good.

They hinted that there might be one more single from 'Cowboy Town' on 'CCUSA' last weekend.
I think a new single and CD would make more sense.

I've heard they're not coming out with a new album until October. It would be too soon to release a single from a new album now, wouldn't it? I can't imagine what else they would release from Cowboy Town. Cowgirls was their best offering on it as far as I'm concerned. "Tequila" would be fun for summer. They've played that at some clubs after their shows.
