Will their #1 drought ever end? It's been a full three years (160 weeks to be exact), since they had Play Something Country at the top on the 9/17/05 Billboard chart. I thought they had decent chances over the last three years with Building Bridges and Put A Girl, but the wait continues. Perhaps they thought that 20 career #1s was a nice round number to stop at...
AJ and Urban have ended their 214- and 144-week droughts this year, so maybe they boys can join in on the fun.

Ah, it's the flip side to Daron Norwood's (or Dude Mowrey's, his came first) "Cowboys Don't Cry". There ain't a cow in Texas, and Wheaties ain't for breakfast, or however that goes.

I love this song and I seriously cannot believe they're releasing it. Definitely one of my favorites on Cowboy Town. I'm glad they've put the fiddle back into their music. This one is more like their older style and more country sounding.

I am so happy they're releasing this song. It is by far my favorite song on Cowboy Town. I love everything about this song, from the fiddle, the lyrics to the inspiration behind the song (Reba and Ronnie's youngest daughter.) How can they go wrong with a Reba inspired song??? Here's hoping for an end to the drought.

Wow, this is the most country sounding thing I've heard from them in a while. Awesome!

You're right it does sound like something George Strait would do and that's a fantastic thing in my book. LOVE this song! Can really relate to this one. In fact with all of the financial woes we all probably can relate somewhat. May have lost in the market, but getting right back into it with a positive outlook and not looking back :). May have stumbled but shaking it off.

I don't like this as much as most of their older material, but it's one of the better singles they've released as of late. Brooks & Dunn have become very hit or miss for me lately. I love a lot of their 90s material, then I didn't really like Tight Rope, but loved Steers & Stripes (and it's 5 singles especially). I haven't really been a fan of the singles from their last two albums, so much so that I haven't been compelled to buy them.

I don't see what's so George Strait-ish about this song. It does sound a bit like "Love Without End, Amen" but that's about the only parallel I see.

Here's the studio version with Reba that was sent to radio this morning. I like it much better than the original, I think it works really well with the three of them singing together. wm.allaccess.com/allaccess/broocowg2.wma

I love Reba but NO. I don't like this. I prefer the way Ronnie Dunn sings that last part.

I actually really enjoy the Reba addition. I am a huge fan of Ronnie's voice. For some reason when him and Reba sing together I actually enjoy her voice more. I wish they would record more together.

Can someone tell me if I am going crazy or does the opening music (the fiddle and all) sound like some other song. I can't place it at all and it's driving me crazy, but I just feel like I have heard something really really similar before. Thanks for any help!
I love the new version with Reba. Somehow I glossed over the previous post about this being inspired by Reba, so I was surprised when they said that at the CMA awards. Her singing the last chorus adds a poignant touch. Made me tear up a bit.

That opening is very Alan Jackson-ish. It sounds kind of like "Livin' on Love" to me.

Hmm, maybe that's it. For some reason I was sort of thinking Clay Walker's If I Could Make a Living (much faster version) but I didn't really 100% think it was that.

That opening is very Alan Jackson-ish. It sounds kind of like "Livin' on Love" to me. I agree, it sounds similar to the opening strains of Livin' On Love. Why not, they toured together last year and AJ wrote a song that is very similar sounding to Boot Scootin Boogie.

Nothing against Reba, but I think the original version is better. Something about the key change in the Reba version doesn't seem quite right...

Kevin, thanks for posting the link to the Reba video. That's very funny. I love when she says B&D are the twinkies and she's the star!
